Love this little shop in Washington Street Mall! They have a ton of unique items ranging from jewelry and accessories to home decor and books. Last year I had bought a canvas bag with piggies on it that I get so many compliments on! This year I returned for a wallet to accompany my purse but also found some adorable earrings and an absolutely beautiful children's book to gift. The gentleman who helped me during my last visit was the same from my first and was so very pleasant and helpful. He had grabbed new items still in plastic to replicate the items that I had taken from the shelf which I found so considerate. Definitely stop in if you are in the area! Bottom Line: Unique and fun gifts, accessories and trinkets. Across the Way was the first store I visited in the Washington Street Mall and it was a fun shopping experience. We actually went in because my husband was curious. I almost didn't go in but I am so glad I did! Across the Way has lots of unique gifty items. I left with some cool things like a zipper pouch with a gnome on it, a tin that looks like a legit 1980s mixed tape and a Calico cat notepad. I also had fun looking at socks, books, cards, jewelry, candles and such. A lot of gift stores carry the same brands but I can tell that Across the Way has worked hard to differentiate their merchandise. Great stuff! read more

Cute shop in town. Purchased 3 air plants. 3 for about $13. Decent size. They also have decor and jewelry. Store gets crowded quickly due to the size. So happy with my air plants! They give you care instructions for them too. Good customer service. read more

Cool store with friendly employees. Lots of unique gifts to be found here. When visiting a new coastal town I always look for the unique novelty stores - I can get the t-shirts with the state screened on them anywhere, what I am more curious about seeing is the work of local artists and unique gifts. I loved the variety of local-made jewelry and accessories here. My only wish is that they were open a bit later on a Saturday in April, but I understand it's not quite tourist season at that point yet! Can't wait to come back here the next time i'm in town! read more

This is a wonderful place to pick up a cute piece of jewelry or a gift for someone. The back section of the store has a wall of adorable cards. It's definitely more on the girly side, but you can certainly find a few masculine or unisex items. Some of my favorite jewelry, a birdcage necklace, and earrings have come from this store. They also have fun home goods, kids stuff, books, art work and even lamps. If you are at a loss for a gift, or just want to treat yourself this is the place. read more

She was very helpful, sweet and professional. She even wrapped and bagged paintings that we painted at Island Studio. I love this shop and never go to Cape May without stopping in. This year I bought 4 small clutches for friends for Christmas. Staff is so pleasant and helpful. Can't say that about much of the help in that town unfortunately. After taking items off the of the shelf the staff went to the trouble of getting me all new wrapped ones from stock. When I got home I searched the item on the internet. I was pleasantly surprised that the price I paid was the best I could have gotten and not inflated for a resort town and holiday weekend. Wonderful adorable gift shop. This shop promotes a green lifestyle and I love the bags from recycled newsprint. (These bags are hand made by women in Malaysia) The card selection is unique and the jewelry is appealing to all ages. They offer discounts to locals as well.
