I got a drive through order. I live 2 miles down the road from this location. when I got home and took my burger out the burger, the entire burger, the patties, the buns, the condements, and the fries were cold and stale. The burger did not have cheese despite ordering cheese and saying to make the burger "all the way". I had to microwave the burger to heat it up and it was still bad. I couldn't finish the burger I had to throw it away and drink some Pepto Bismal to get the disgusting taste of stale lettuce out and avoid a stomach ache. My husband ordered for the first time online...never again. Our kids were missing Whataburger so fir close to a month in Quarantine we thought we would surprise them. Ordered 4 cokes...received 4 warm teas, hard cold fries, barely warm burgers...so disappointed!!! Never this location again, only went cause close and raining hard. Let us forget any assumptions: that the store was under-staffed; The store may have been in a rush; The workers were having a bad day. Any of these assumptions will be thrown out the window in favor of personal experience. I went three (3) times to this particular location-- and like any other Texan, I have been to many Whataburger restaurants. however, this location failed to compare to its other franchises. For starters, I was the first in line at the drive through. There was nobody behind me. I only ordered 1 item, but the time it took for me to recieve that 1 item was about 10-15 minutes (other locations have it ready in less than 5). Furthermore, when I went home to eat my food, I noticed that the order was wrong. Since I am not picky, I decided to forgo this inconvenience. But the third strike came when I bit into my food, only to find out that the food was awfully stale! It tasted like cardboard. Now one bad experience at any location does not condone a bad review, but I did go again to give a second chance to this place, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. Ok so... messing up twice can still be just a coincidence. So I went a third time-- this time for lunch. you guessed it. The service and food was still terrible. Overall, I am disappointed. I feel that I wasted my time and money. Maybe when someone else goes, it will all turn out fine, but I genuinely feel that the general service of this location is under par. Anyone giving this location 5 stars must be a friend or family member of an employee. I only live a mile away from this Whataburger, I can honestly say not every time I've gone by I got a bad burger, couple of times bread was cold. It's the staff, they screw up my order half the time. The cashier bought 3 orders out to the VIP lane and she started from the rear instead of the front car, why would you give the last car their food and make him wait for the cars in front to move, typically you give the lead car their food first.Then I drive home and eat my burger and noticed my apple pie is missing again. I let it pass a couple of times but lately I been driving back because if you call them those clowns they won't answer. I've traveled throughout Texas even been to the Louisiana location. Whataburger is awesome, wish they were throughout the US. I lived up in North Dakota for 6 years and missed Whataburger.I will make an effort next time not to come to this location again. I think others have the same opinion and just go to this place because it's convenient. I have NEVER had issues at the University Dr location, their employees are very organized, with 2 drive through lanes, they never slip up, however I shouldn't have to drive that far, Closner store #60 needs to get their act together. I don't piss and moan often and probably would had let it go again if they would simply answer the phone, that tells me they even ignore the phone orders. I have gone the last 4 times and have been disappointed. I always go drive-thru and the lines are slow and always get cold burgers. I live less than a mile away and by the time I get home it's cold and always disappointing. I complained once to the whataburger hotline but at this point have given up. I love whataburger but eating burgers from this location does not represent what a whataburger is and should be by any means. read more

Look. You get what you pay for, so if you're looking for an artery clogging sandwich with a side of grease fried pre frozen potatoes and a 32 oz of artificially colored fizzy sugar water to wash it down, this is definitely the right place. It's good at what it is: a burger joint riding on the reputation of being indigenous to Texas and only Texas. Food comes out decently quick; I've waited between 2-5 minutes when it's busy and 5-10 minutes when it's busy. Definitely a lack of quality during lunch rushes but that's expected and it's not anything drastic. If you want a good ass burger, go while the kids are in school and avoid lunch time, you won't regret it. read more

Nice and clean, but perpetually slow. Gets slammed with lunch traffic from the courthouse, so either go early or late. If you want better food for the same amount of wait time, try Willie B's BBQ instead. read more

Go to a different location. Staff caters to friends and family only not strangers. Drive through employee constantly left her station to tend to her family in the dining area. Plenty of beige shirts just watching and letting her do whatever she wanted. Even they catered to the employees family and completely ignored the other patrons. Go to a different location if you want good customer service because it does not exist here. read more

Always slow, understaffed. The younger woman cook can't cook scrambled eggs, instead u always get an omelette like flop of runny egg, not appealing at all, never fails, the older woman cook is 10X better but over all is suggest going to the one on University. read more
