Here on a business trip from Houston and came here twice the same day. Reading the comments below, this place receives a lot of hate for its inconsistencies. Thankfully, I didn't really experience that. Actually, they're better than most Whataburger's in Houston. Chicken strips and fries were good, gravy was watery though. My first time at a Whataburger so I really have nothing to compare it to. It reminded me of a Wendys or Chik fil a. They give you a number when you order and call it when its ready. I ordered the chicken melt and fries. It was delicious. The place looked clean from what I saw. My only complaint was it took a really long time for fast food. read more

FIRST OF ALL.. I want to mention the waiting part. Me and my family waited 20 minutes just to have to go in line AGAIN. I'm actually disappointed this has never happened. I went through the drive through and i'm not really sure, but the vibe was not it.. It is current 7:46 and they can't keep up with the orders? This location is a huge let down to the Whataburger brand. This place is only up and running because Port Lavaca has very few choices for fast food, but if you can skip this place then do. The customer service in this location is as bad as it gets. It feels like the people working there are forced to be there. Not a friendly soul in sight. They mess up on orders 50% of the time. Staff collectively pissed because I asked for a Chocolate shake with a meal. Staff was swearing loudly. A staff member dropped someone's order of fries on the floor, scoop the fries back into the pouch, and served it to a customer. read more

Internet spotty so couldn't pull up my Whataburger app so cashier told me in the future I can screenshot my barcode before I get there to make it work. Very friendly and fast service. Ate there on Saturday & Sunday nights both times around 9:00 p.m. And although very busy burgers were made to order, received in a timely manner and were very good. read more

THE WORST WHATABURGER I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. don't even bother going here. It's seriously only fast food and you would think they would take pride in maybe something but they 100% don't. Whoever is leading this team should be embarrassed. I called to make a complaint and wasn't even rude about it to only the girl over the phone named Rayna to hangup on me. So we get home with our food to only find out we didn't even get half of our food after our drinks were already messed up and I was hung up on about it. When I called back after getting home Rayna answered the phone again and I told her thank you for hanging up on me and she went on to tell they are busy. Giving me no solution to the problem. I guess we should pay $40 for our food and just be happy with what we get ???? Beyond ridiculous. I asked her to put me on the phone with someone who could actually help when she then put me on the phone with the shift manager Amanda. She was more professional than the girl before but i will say she didn't help much and also didn't seem to care at all. So do yourself a favor and don't eat somewhere when the people completely mess up your food that they hangup on you and don't care to fix the situation so you will be a returning customer. I guess being a small town the type of customer service there and small minded people is as good as its going to get. Pretty unfortunate for it to be a place like whataburger that most people love. Disgusting!!!!! Do not go here. I visit Port Lavaca often so I figured that Whataburger would be a safe bet since we have them everywhere in San Antonio and you can't go wrong. However the service is always horrible here and the food is always cold - I've gotten sick every time. I would never go here again and would recommend you steer clear of this place. read more

Can you give no stars?! Better yet negative Stars?! Worst Whataburger establishment I have ever come across and I LOVE Whataburger. I live in Vegas so whenever I am here in Texas I have to get my cheeseburger nothing like it in Las Vegas. Needless to say I was soooo dissapppointed when I came to Port Lavaca and had this experience. My Grandma warned me about this place but I didn't believe it. After waiting in line for 15 minutes I received my Whataburger cheese burger and fries only to find them cold. I had to heat everything up in a microwave and it just wasn't the same. I could only eat a few fries and choked down half a hamburger. Worst money ever spent and now I'm sitting here at 3 AM with stomach cramps almost 6 hours later. My Dr Pepper shake looked like it was made of Dark Chocolate. It was so strong in DP flavor it tasted like straight syrup. Random man touched our babies head, they forgot 4 things that we ordered, when we told the manager she scanned our receipt 4 times to make sure we weren't lying, when we asked for ice they told us it's in the back, & a guy is walking around telling everyone they are number one. Have eaten at this location several times. Aside from the typical wrong item, cheese on the salad, no cheese on the burger, etc., the last few times it has been better than expected for fast food. Using their app to order and the food was good quality and out quickly. Somewhat consistent which is welcome in PL. read more

For the past few years all I've experienced from this Whataburger is bad service and bad food. The people are rude and careless and the food is never fresh, always cold and/or soggy, and the orders always come out wrong in some way. I did notice that if you do want good service and fresh food from this particular Whataburger, you have to go in the afternoons when school lets out or on the weekends when the high school kids are working.
