True, I live in Calgary but buy my Smart Phones in Strathmore... so should you.
Strathmore? Yup... and why not. Wheatland Celluar is on 30 minutes from my home in SE Calgary.
Sure, I can go to any cellular dealership in Calgary and buy a phone... but I can't get the service I get when I buy from Mark, the owner of Wheatland Cellular.
I bought two iPhones (3GS) from Mark's Strathmore store last year... and yesterday I drove out again to buy the iPhone 4S with all the accessories.
I love the phone by the way... as for Mark, he is one of the nicest guys in the business. I bought the phone yesterday and this afternoon he sent me a text, "How do you like you're new phone?"... "Have you tried out the Siri yet?"
Seriously, who does that? Not once in my life have other cell phone providers followed up with me.
As for the drive to Strathmore, you know it's actually quite a nice & relaxing drive and a great reason to get out of the city.
Yes, I could by a cell phone from someone just a few blocks away. But why why they really don't seem to care about my business.
At Wheatland Cellular, you can actually see "customer care" in action. When I arrived with my two kids, both Mark and one of his staff were busy helping other customers. Neither Mark or his staff rushed their current customer just to get to me or the 4 other customers who were happily waiting.
There's magazines to read while you wait. A big screen TV to watch cartoons (I had my kids ;) and of course a full selection of the latest and greatest mobile solutions along with all the accessories to go with them.
Regarding Mark's customer service, here's what really blew me away... a very nice elderly lady (65+ years or so) came in with her iPhone. She was having challenges with her Facebook account emailing her so many times a day... 20 minutes later, she left with a smile and a solution (none of which pertain to the operation of a cell phone). She had little to no working knowledge of Facebook, her Yahoo email account settings or how to properly use her iPhone - and even though she never bought her iPhone from Wheatland Cellular, Mark's staff helped her out as if she did.
Mark could have easily said, "Look, you didn't buy the phone here, we can't help you without charging a fee..." but he didn't and his staff patiently helped her. First class, Mark.
So, if you need a cell phone or any accessories to go with it, take a short drive to Strathmore and see Mark an his crew. You'll be glad you did. read more
