I finally came to the right Bubba's( please see review for Bubba's 33). We arrived like 9:10 pm and pretty much 20 minutes before closing. Er were promptly greeted and we advised them we were going to give their menu a look. We decided on pick 3, which consisted of: brisket, 3 piece ribs, and half a chicken, for the sides were got macaroni and cheese and crinkled cut fries. We paid for our meal and picked a booth near the entrance. I almost forgot to mention we got a drink an made us some Arnold Palmer and for dessert with got banana pudding. We sat at our booth and our food arrived nice and hot. Fries very tasty and crunchy. We dived into the food I had a piece of brisket, nicely smoked and very moist. They had a variety of barbeque sauces you can you at your leisure. I picked a vinegar flavored and hickory sweet smoke which I alternated as I ate the meats. Let's talk sides. French fries fresh and crispy, now when it came for the macaroni it gives you flavor of the KFC version, it's alright. It came with a piece of toast. Taste similar to the cheez bread from Sizzlers just softer. (I'm showing my age). We had so much food and unless I'm very hungry we tend to share a plate. We took the banana pudding home and later tried it. The banana pudding was OMG, to die for, it had a very homemade taste. I highly recommend this dessert. Restaurant had a very cozy feel. The ambiance seem kind of quiet, but mind you we went on a Sunday night. The workers were very polite and attentive. If in the Brandon area, this is a must try.

This review is not about the food--it is about the treatment I received from a staff member. From the moment I entered the restaurant, the waitress appeared to have an attitude toward me. As an immigrant with a Jamaican accent, I sometimes have to repeat myself, but customer service employees should remain patient and professional when dealing with people from different backgrounds and cultures. During the interaction, I felt disrespected and insulted. The situation escalated to the point where the police were called. The responding officers were respectful, professional, and understanding. I admit that I became upset and responded with inappropriate language after feeling provoked. The restaurant business is about serving the public, and the public consists of people from many different races, cultures, and nationalities. Every customer and delivery driver deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I believe Kojak Restaurant should invest more in customer service training and emphasize professionalism, respect, and cultural awareness for all employees. No one should feel unwelcome or disrespected when entering a business. I hope management takes concerns like this seriously and works to create a more welcoming environment for everyone.

I ordered the brisket which was delicious. The meat had a nice flavor and was tender. They have 3 barbecue sauce options: Sweet Chili, Jerk Barbecue and Carolina Gold. I loved the Carolina Gold on my brisket. The green beans were also fresh with a good flavor and the truffle Mac and cheese was delicious. The prices were fair. I definitely will be back to try some other items and recommend this restaurant.

The sausage was amazing. Unsweetened tea was good, as well as potato salad and beans. Cons: the ribs were very large, tender and had a great smoke flavor but that's it. They were pretty fatty, although still had a decent amount of meat. But there was no real flavor to the meat other than the "smoke". The brisket was tender also but flavorless. I tried both sauces. Both taste very ketchup based with the Hot just being super spicy. I mixed the sausage and brisket together to eat so it would help the brisket. The location is great and in walking distance in Ybor, from the trolly or locals. Little house like place with two tvs on. One playing sports while the other was playing some Jerry Springer style lame drama, and was plenty loud for us to hear. Overall, very disappointed. The Smoker was going and gave us high hopes but lack of flavor made for a very dull meal.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly smile and a warm welcome. Throughout the meal, she was attentive and professional, yet never intrusive. She was knowledgeable about the menu and able to make great recommendations. She was also very accommodating, making sure that my needs were met and that my table was always cleared and clean. Her positive attitude and genuine care for the customers' experience really made the entire dinner special. Food Quality The food at Johnson's Barbeque was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The ribs were tender and juicy, with a perfect balance of smoky flavors and savory spices. The brisket was mouth-watering, with a rich, complex flavor that lingered on my palate long after the meal. It was the kind of brisket that you only find at a true, traditional barbecue joint. The tacos were the star of the show, with soft corn tortillas filled with tender pulled pork, tangy slaw, and a creamy chipotle aioli that tied the flavors together perfectly. They were the perfect combination of textures and tastes. Overall, the food was simply amazing. Overall Experience The entire dining experience at Johnson's Barbeque was truly exceptional. I've only had beef cheeks one other time, at LeRoy and Lewis in Austin, but I have to give Danny's the edge. They were unbelievably tender, literally melt in your mouth, with incredible flavor. The Wagyu Dino Rib was every bit as impressive. It was absolutely massive with a beautiful bark, the perfect amount of smoke, and so tender it practically fell apart. Of course I couldn't leave without some brisket, and it was just as outstanding as always. I had the chance to chat with Danny, and he and his team are some of the nicest people you'll meet. The Brisket Shoppe consistently serves some of the best BBQ I've had anywhere and, in my opinion, it's the best you'll find outside of Texas. The turkey is probably the best I've had. Maybe ever. Juicy, seasoned, could have been a giant chicken lol. The brisket was good as well. I went for half moist half lean. It turned out moist and more moist. Next time I'll go lean since its a particularly juicy brisket. The cole slaw was a fresh and crunchy touch of brightness on my heavy plate. The tallow fries had potential but I wish they were crunchier. The bon bons were good (first time having them) but after I ate everything else it was bit rich. I left with the itis but tbh it wasnt too bad which speaks to the quality of the ingredients! Worth a visit.
