Not sure why I came back to give them another chance. They always disappoint. Been maybe 3 times. The hairdressers always are in a bad mood. The last time I tried to get my kids in , they wouldn't take us because the list was "closed" although they didn't close for another 45 minutes. This time my son's hair looks nothing like I asked. I even had her "fix it" where you could totally tell it wasn't cut correctly. Now I have to go elsewhere to get it actually fixed. She wasn't kid friendly , nor was she considerate of him being a child and quite literally kept smacking him with the towel where he noticeably was uncomfortable by the way his head was moving away everytime the towel would hit him and yet she kept going . I had to tell her it was fine if the hair didn't come off. Not to mention her rude remark to me wanting to stand next to my child, mind you i wasn't right next to him, but rather a few feet away, well my son is 4 and I'm his advocate , so if i want to stand next to my son or close to him, I will. This place is so unwelcoming. From the first time I came to the third and last time . Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Edit to add: it's the next morning and I'm actually noticing now and his haircut is . Shouldn't have paid for this. Every time I've come in they are so rude and unhelpful. I've went multiple times because it is such a cute place but the workers are extremely rude. Not kid friendly at all. She didn't even acknowledge us when we walked as she was looking down at her phone. I had to walk to the counter and say "good morning" to get her attention. I have almost 5 year old twins that were hoping to get their first haircut but we chose elsewhere because the vibe with the employee was terrible. Came in for baby's first haircut older lady with glasses and dark hair was extremely rude, she was already in a bad mood when we walked in. Mid cut we asked her kindly to alter something minor from the hair cut and she raised her voice and responded with attitude and began to get aggressive with the babies head and left scratches so asked her to just please just stop the haircut . She began getting hostile with us and told us that's why she doesn't like to work with people like us. We remained calm but were shocked to see someone like that working in a kids shop. The hairdresser who did my daughter's first haircut was not as warm as one would expect a kid's hairdresser to be. The manager was extremely rude when I brought up concerns with out experience and had the audacity to try and turn the blame on us. Never will I ever go to the this place again, and highly recommend going somewhere else. Find a place where your satisfaction and experience matter. read more

Wow this place gets a bad wrap, we've had good cuts and ok cuts here. But I think some people are not accounting for their wiggly, crying and unmannered kids. Not to mention, helicopter parents who don't understand how to get a kids haircut. "I want it short but still long." Show them a picture and it's usually just fine. Some of the ladies do a really good job and some do okay. My only qualm is it's pricey. And they don't have discount Tuesday's anymore. But it keeps my kids happy and calm to get their haircut for the most part. Once they're older, we go to a regular barber on Main Street. $54 for 3 kids every 3 months is a lot plus tip. read more

The person working there was not friendly and barely spoke to us. She also did not introduce herself or try interact with my son before coming in with clippers. I can't review this place on the haircut itself, but I can on customer service. We arrived at the mall early so we could get here right at opening to put our name on the list. It was Sunday, so they were supposed to open up at 11...they didn't. They opened up late and by time they fully opened the doors and turned on the lights a group of people had gathered. No biggie. We enter and two employees are sitting talking to each other behind the desk. Nobody greeted us, nobody told us to sign in (we signed in because the guy who charged in front of us signed in and we followed), not even a glance up at us. We waited 5ish minutes while the ladies continued talking without greeting anyone and my one year old was getting fidgety, so I mentioned that since the gentleman was before us, I was going to walk outside the store to let him run off his energy. One of the ladies rather grumpily looked up and said "Did you sign in? Because I'm the only one here apparently." Listen...I get you are upset, maybe because your employee never showed or called in, I get it. However you have families waiting, can you at least greet me and explain what's going on right away? Can you at least start taking clients instead of talking with the other employee (who doesn't cut hair apparently) so your line doesn't get super long? Just like that, I got up and crossed our names off the list and decided to look elsewhere. This would have been my sons first haircut, I'm not willing to have it be some bad experience. This place is awful. They are not patient with children as they pin them down for a haircut and as a parent you are almost force into helping pin them down for their safety so they won't get cut by the machine. I almost feel that the machines pull the kids hair as it cuts. My son had an awful cut and my friend had similar experience.I asked for a trim and they did the complete opposite leaving it too short. I never write reviews but I can't express how awful this place is as they do not know how to work with children. I ended up going to Cesar's Barbershop by Target and my 2year old really enjoyed it (no tears, no pinning down ) as the barber was super patient with him and let him get use the sound of the machine. read more

This review is not about the business but about one of the workers. I've been taking my kids here for years and everyone is so nice but this last time I went was horrible, I wish I knew the lady's name that cut my sons hair. She's and older women with glasses. Whatever you do don't allow your child to get their haircut from her. Besides her being rude and making comments about the kids and parents that go into the salon (I might not look like I know Spanish but yes I know Spanish and yes I understood everything she said). She also did a horrible job cutting my sons hair. My son is older and he doesn't move around so I don't understand why she cut him so bad. After the hair cut my son was complaining about how much the back of his head burned. I inspect his head and realized it had several cuts. For someone to cut your child that much is horrible, obviously she wasn't paying attention. read more

The stylist was good with kids and patient. It probably took her 4 minutes to cut my son's hair and they charged about $18. Haircut was for a one year old. I think the price is high, which is why I will not use it on a regular basis. If they charged about $12 per cut, I would probably visit 3x/year = $36. But I will probably use once a year = $18. The first time I brought my son, the woman did a speedy job and listened to what I wanted. I showed her a pic and she did pretty darn close. My son being a little more than 18mos at the time, was fidgety and didnt want to be touched but she still did a decent job. However, I was not welcomed by the hostess or whatever you'd consider her. It was a busy week end but I didnt mind waiting. She didn't have the greatest attitude and rudely asked if I had signed in as she watched the counter the entire time knowing I didnt. Sorry, it was my first time there and I didn't know the proper procedures.. Second time, I learned to make an appointment. The woman then wasn't very patient. She tried to console my son as he started to fidget and move trying to get away from her. She acted like a simple toy was going to make him better. Plus, I think english was her second language because she didnt do anything I asked her to do. She cut his hair too short and she gave me the comb to style it. After combing his hair, she then RECOMBED it to how she thought he'd wear his hair. Why offer me the comb, if you were going to do it anyway. Third time, I did a walk in on a late afternoon week day, so it wasnt busy at all. Plus, I wanted to be there for a bit so my son would get aquainted with the place, get comfortable, and ease up so if there was a wait time, it was no big deal. Unfortunately, it was the same woman I had during his 2nd hair cut. She's not very good with children as I watched her with another client. If one decides to cut children's hair, you'd expect them to know how to interact with them. she wasnt too patient. She just want to hurry and get it done. most kids under 4 will need a break, a breather, and time to relax while getting something "weird" done to them that they're not use to. I never got her name but she has very long hair and always seems to have it styled. The last few times I've seen her (usually bc im chasing my son outta there bc of the toys and what not) she always has her hair in a half up style always nicely curled.. big voluminous hair. I mean she has good intentions but she doesn't really understand the needs of a toddler. I think I'm going to find some other cheaper place that's willing to cut kid's hair 'cause this place isn't really the best, imo. the place has a good idea with bright colors, fun toys, and very ideal for kids but their stylists really need to learn to deal with their clientele: YOUNG CHILDREN read more

I've been bringing my son here for all of his haircuts (8 of them at 2 yrs old) and we love Esmeralda. She is fantastic and never gives him a bad haircut. The young woman who cut my daughter's hair did exactly the opposite of what I asked her to, with my daughter's bangs. I was pretty specific, explaining with words and also showing while holding my daughter's hair. Then she cut it pretty much exactly how I had asked her NOT to do it. And it's terribly sloppy, with some strands of bang pieces inexplicably 1/2" longer than the rest. Also, this hair cutting woman seemed totally disinterested and didn't try to make it fun for my daughter at all. My daughter asked for the TV/movie player at her station to be turned on, so the hair cutter turned it on but left the sound off. Another employee asked "Do you want me to turn that up?" The lady cutting my daughter's hair said "No, leave the sound off" without even asking my daughter. Even in spite of that, I will probably go back again because my kids still seem to think it's a fun place. I wish I had read these reviews before going there, so I'd have known to ask for the owner. I imagine I will give it another try but if we get another haircut & experience like this one, I will stay away for good. For the haircut I would give it zero stars. Maybe three or four stars as a "fun place" to get a kids haircut. So that averages out to a 2. And I think that's being generous. read more

Hannah was amazing! We just took my nephew to get his first haircut she did an excellent job! Camren wasn't feeling well and he hadn't had a nap all day, to say the least he was a bit upset! Hannah was not only was able to give him the perfect haircut, but she all while was crying and very upset! I do t know how she did it! All the way she stayed cool, calm and collect! I am from the 5 cities and had to be in SM for a dr appt, my daughter wanted to see what this mall was about since she has heard horrible things but was up for an adventure, and I always have a mall-pretzel craving, so there we are at the Town Center mall. I am SO happy to have stumbled upon this little gem! We came back the next week with my mom and my 15 month old son to get his first haircut. There were two hairdressers there, neither particularly smiley or friendly, but not unwelcoming. There were a large variety of toys for my son to play with, they were clean and mostly geared towards toddlers. The lil "airplane" he sat in was just too cute, he was comfy and safe in there. He happily watched Lilo &Stitch on his own private "toddler TV" and the hairdresser was finished in a snap. A baby's first haircut, painless, cheap, fun, and free of frustration? I understand now why the reviews are not brilliant. We booked an appointment to go there from Maidstone for our child, it took 50 minutes to arrive and luckily we were 5 minutes earlier because the traffic was horrific, arrived there there was a sign on the door saying "Sorry the salon today it is closed because of a sickness". Now I understand these things can happen but the lady was inside she didn't even call us to let us know or sort the problem out, nothing. She could only say I am sorry in addition of being rude. This is a hard job no doubt. Parents with a vision and kids fighting it every step of the way. They have nice stations that include fun seating choices for the kids, they get to pick a DVD, and they added a few nice extras like glitter and a clip after my daughter was done. We booked first apt of the morning on a Saturday and got right in. I can see how it would easily get backed up and the stylist can't stop mid haircut just because they are out of time. If you are looking for a fun experience for a kids cut this is the place. Cut these ladies a little slack they have a hard job.
