Then got charged full price for two blue moon beers ordered during happy hour - and the waitress states blue moon isn't a "domestic" beer - even though it's brewed by Coors. There are still a few of these across Nebraska and we've generally always gotten a pretty decent steak there- still holds true. The staff there is terrific! Seated and waited on promptly, but never rushed. My dinner companion had the Brisket Sandwich- I had the smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese with grilled chicken. Let's start with the good- homemade bread and butter are served while you wait for your entree. It's a rolled loaf of pumpernickel and white, me preferring the former and my wife the latter. The softened whipped butter was pretty good and sated our appetites until the meal arrived. My wife really enjoyed the brisket sandwich, served with fries (which weren't anything to write home about). The sandwich is probably best eaten as an open face sandwich- but it was fantastic. Moist and tender and a great taste, it truly was brisket done well. Awesome to the Max! The smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese was, well- disappointing. I expected creamy, smoky goodness and was served very dry pasta with some Gouda mixed up in it that wasn't very smoky. . The grilled chicken was dry and flavorless and tasted as though it may have been a hold over from the prior day. Served with a choice of house salads, I had the Caesar, which was, um, just ok. Tasted good, but could used a bit more dressing to punch it up a bit. The wait staff was fantastic. Polite, attentive and prompt service seemed to be a priority for them and it made me reluctant to give only a 3 star review, but for an eatery that does such a great jobs with their steaks, they should have been able to pull off Mac n Cheese. An hour wait for food for 3 sandwiches, a salad and a kids cheeseburger. About 40 minutes into that hour we finally asked for drink refills because it was obvious our server wasn't going to check in with us during our wait. The entree salad didn't come with the dressing, so after waiting another 10 minutes or so and not seeing the server we had to go find an employee to get the server to come bring us salad dressing. The manager stopped at our table during the hour wait for food and I thought it was to check in and apologize for the wait and let us know our food was coming but no, it was to say hi to my son and ask how old he was. My wife and I had steak dinners at the restaurant last night. The food was very good, but the service could've been better: our server took our orders without writing them down; my wife's included a side that was a house salad (that included an additional charge.) However, the salad was never brought to the table so I brought it to the attention of our servers; he said, "I could've sworn I brought it to your table." (Tempting as it was, I didn't say, "We're not in the business of hiding soiled salad bowls in our coats.") I asked him to please credit us with the missing side, but he credited us only for the upcharge, not for the side itself. (Since it was a birthday dinner, I didn't want to spoil my wife's mood and quibble over a few extra dollars--that would've been insensitive.) Another item was that we e-mailed the restaurant a week in advance asking if they offer a Senior discount; never heard back. I asked the same question of our server--he said he'd check, but didn't. Best grilled chicken sandwich with awesome BBQ sauces. My favorites were the legends and the chipotle. Chicken avocado salad was the best salad I have ever had, homemade dressing was the bomb. Been here several times in the last three weeks the company has had me it town and had me some great ribeye's. So the girl at the hotel ask me how I liked their bread and I'm like they didn't give me any bread, she said it was their signature thing and told me that she was going to talk to the manager (Cord). Couple days later she says you Need to talk to Cord, he is going to take care of you. So I go back and talk to Cord and I order the same thing and the girl brings out my food and I asked where the bread was? She went back to get it and I checked out my med well ribeye and I had an over cooked NY strip. Cord comes out and says is there a problem and I'm like this isn't a ribeye and he tells me it looks like a 12oz ribeye to him. I won't be going back!! read more

Ate there 2/18/23. Waitress was horrible! We were seated, then came in 2 more tables. Waited forever for waitress, she took our drink order, brought drinks, then proceeded to take the other 2 tables drink orders, one at a time, until all drinks were delivered. Then she delivered table #3 more drinks and an appetizer, the whole time never took anyone's food order from our table or table #2. Finally took our food order. Shortly after table #3's food was delivered.....wth?? Finally had to go ask for the side salad I ordered. Food was just okay, chicken was very dry. Husband got 1 refill of coffee, we weren't offered the free bread however the 3rd table received bread. What a horrible experience. We will never go there again!!! Finally got sat at our table, ordered drinks, and finally walked out after waiting for 15 minutes for our drinks. You could tell there where a few workers actually working, but most discouraging was we couldn't get service, but yet there were workers standing around doing nothing. Obvious a few people present this evening could work, while others stood around doing nothing while potential (and say potential since we would have dropped a couple hundred there this evening but never got the opportunity to spend a penny) customers had very poor experience. Awesome wood fired grilled prime rib on the weekends. They now have calamari as an appetizer & comes with lemon aioli & cocktail sauce. That was very good too. Small loaf of bread comes with your meal which is very soft & fresh, like out of the oven fresh. We stop here every time coming through Norfolk. Don't waste your time!! I was in Norfolk on business, and from the limited selection of restaurants, I chose to check out Whiskey Creek. And I wish that I would've went to Applebees instead. 1st off the place is filthy! A side from the peanut shells on the floor, it appeared to me that they didn't bother to clean/wipe anything else. My booth seat looked as though they just brushed the crumbs from the table onto it. The service was less than average. And the food was sub par. I order the signature steak, thinking that I couldn't go wrong with something that they labeled as signature. But I was wrong. The steak was so dry that it was hard to chew and I had to use steak sauce to give it a touch of flavor. My coworker order the baby bloom and it was just a mess! They used the wrong type of onion and didn't slice it correctly. So we had to use a fork and nice to cut it apart instead of simply pulling it apart. The breading fell off of the onion and we were left with a big stack of dough and a big naked onion. The meal was super cheap and a direct reflection of the quality of food. If you are visiting Norfolk and looking for a place to eat, don't waste your time here. read more

Had a social/business dinner here with 5 of us, we were seated at a nice big table with plenty of room. Good service, food came in an acceptable time & was great. The bar stocks Pendleton which was nice for us whiskey drinkers.......since it makes Crown Royal taste like it came from a rusty bucket. Matt, the Mgr. was a great guy & fun to talk with. The place has peanut shells on the floor so it's a very comfortable & casual atmosphere.......not for the "stuffy" person...........thankfully! It's a chain steakhouse with fairly good food. I live in NW Indiana, and we have two restaurants near me that are almost identical to this place... Texas Corral and Texas Roadhouse. Both places are nearly identical...knotty pine and cedar fixtures, buckets of peanuts with shells on the floor.... neon lights and (possibly) mounted animal heads..horseshoes, etc,,, Food is probably above average, but not spectacular. I would probably return when I travel to Norfolk again, but only because there isn't much else there. read more

6 of my family members met here for the 4th of July. We were the 1st ones there as we got there as they opened at 11. A nice waiter took our drink orders and when he brought 6 glasses of ice water he accidentally spilled the whole tray of waters down my sister in laws back. She was very sweet about it and said it was ok. The waiter was very apologetic. The manager came over to clean up the water and said "as long as you didn't get wet" and I pointed it out how wet her hair and jacket was. All he said In Response to that was "that's unfortunate." i feel he could of said I'm so sorry here is a appetizer for free, or her meal should of been comped. Accidents happen to ya all.
