After a long flight from the states we had a hankering for a steak and decided on this spot located in the Old Town Square. I knew this was a chain but their menu was in English and they had a wide range of choices so I settled on the Viking with herbal butter, truffle potato puree and rice. The steak was cooked perfectly and I had no complaints. The location is in the heart of the old town center and makes for very good people watching. During my meal we saw a variety of entertaining acts perform in the square. The only thing that maybe an issue for some is people smoking nearby. Omg it is a must if you come to Wroclaw. The costumer service , the atmosphere, the restaurant and to top it off the food and drinks are amazing (check out the pics). Marcin our waiter was fantastic. He made out experience worth while. We're actually going to go back before we head back home. Wroclaw is my favorite city in Poland but I think I just found my favorite restaurant. The "Whiskey", located on the old Town Square in the college town of Wroclaw, Poland, came highly recommended from the bartender at our hotel. It turned out to be a great spot for dinner and drinks on a recent Friday night while on business in Europe. This place attracts all ages and specializes in cocktails served in jars typically used for canning vegetables. This night, we chose local Polish beers as our drink of choice. Our group had heard that the steaks were good here and confirmed it with a Rib Eye and a Filet. Both were complimented with chips and steamed veggies and were excellent. The highlight of the evening was the live music played by a small group of clean-cut college-aged guys. They surprised us with many classic standards by icons like Eric Clapton, Hendrix and the Stones. Great time. We'll be back for sure. read more

So...the food is great. The service....not so much. I suppose one could say it is casual European but I don't buy it. For example how long does it take to pay a bill? 15 minutes and counting apparently. One could say it is a testament to the good food and that they are busy. One could say that. But on the other hand...poorly trained staff and inept management is another answer. You got all the time in the world...sure. If you are a busy professional at the end of a long day...I would go somewhere else. read more

If you find yourself here I can recommend the country burger. BUT make sure you don't sit at the "Reserved tables" in case you'd like to have a little bit privacy. We were asked to leave and sit in the bistro section even though it was clear that no one has made a reservation in the more comfortable section. It was 3:30 pm and the restaurant was empty. (As in the picture) Maybe I'm sensitive but I hate being lied to in my face. In conclusion = meh read more

This was our second visit to "Whiskey in the Jar" in Poland. Our first time was in Poznan, so when we heard there was one of these in Worclaw we jumped on the chance to eat there. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is pure fun. Our hotel made a reservation for us, but when we got there they tried to put us in the basement with the families and very young kids. We were two adults and a 12 year old. We refused to sit there and the hostess claimed there was no other place for us to sit as all the other tables in the main dining area were reserved. We reminded her that we also had a reservation and we were actually at the restaurant, unlike the other people who made reservations but had not shown up yet. Anyway, they agreed to let us put two bar tables together and we ate in the bar. It was slightly uncomfortable but the food and atmosphere were worth it. Of course the entire two hours we kept our eyes on the other vacant tables and sure enough there were at least 4 tables that never got filled up. I really thought we were treated unfairly and likely we won't return because of that at least not on a weekend. If you are in the area, I do recommend the steaks, burgers and grilled salmon.
