It has been a year since Christian re-roofed our shed. It started leaking a couple months ago. We…read moregot a real roofer in to inspect and he showed us all the mistakes that were made (nails showing, put shingles on upside down, not lined up). We trusted him when he said he knew what he was doing. We spent over $3k, and then hired someone else to do the interior, as Christian didn't measure up to call him back out. The last thing I want is to talk to this guy again. He didn't work smart. For example, threw all roofing debris directly onto ground (vs. putting a tarp down and tossing everything on it so that he would work smarter, not harder. It was a warning sign that I should have listened to. Even I, not being a roofer, could see he was having difficulty, but again, I'm not a roofer so I trusted him. I had to beg for a write up of all materials used and work done for the insurance company. He tried to manipulate me by saying he wouldn't give me the info unless I gave him a good review. I'm not used to being held hostage to this man's demands. It was a bad experience and now we've found out just how bad. I'm thinking he must have never done a roof before but instead misrepresented his skillset and knowledge. I'm disgusted.

Contracted Simplified Construction to build 2 decks with stairs last year 2025. Ken Layton…read more(owner?) agreed to all requests. In the contract it was specified that all work was to be done according to code. Bottom line; Work was abandoned. Work was not done to code and resulted in an unsafe deck. Simplified Construction was nonresponsive for any remediation. Simplified Construction was taken to the Oregon Contractor's construction board for remediation was was found guilty. Simplified Construction defaulted on the above agreement. Simplified Construction was taken to small claims court and was found guilty. As of this date, Simplified Constructions license is being suspended by the construction board. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN FROM SIMPLIFIED CONSTRUCTION. Hiring someone from outside of Home Depot would give you better results...
