There is a nice little cafe/dining area consisting of (I believe) two rooms, and there were also people dining outside on the front porch, where the tables have umbrellas. This old building has charm, and I think they have guest rooms upstairs. Just as I began poking around a room that I realized was an antique shop, the waitress came and found me, and my dinner was ready. Definitely a nice experience at this place. I took the food home, and I was satisfied. The very large piece of haddock was nicely breaded and tasty. The baked potato was also very good - I think it was baked with sea salt, resulting in a very flavorful skin. The cole slaw had pineapple in it. I thought this was weird, but when I finished it, I definitely wanted more. I think this meal cost $12 and change, and I felt that it was a good value. This is a solid spot for Friday fish fry, especially considering the surrounding area. I'll be back, not only because of the food, but the service and character.

We even had an extra bed for the sixth person who stayed elsewhere and Patty graciously extended breakfast to him! The Stay was a quick five minute ride downtown to where our event was held in Cooperstown at the Hall of Fame. And we were well prepared after enjoying the family-style hearty, filling, home made breakfast. When we checked in, we were greeted warmly. I really appreciated help with my bag up the somewhat steep & narrow stairs. (No elevator - so keep that in mind if you come to stay.) Phone chargers next to the bed & sofa(bed) & solid wifi made this quaint & cozy room connected. Full length mirror, hair dryer & an iron & ironing board were much appreciated. Our 2nd floor room was very quiet & the blackout drapes on all windows plus the split ac & heat controls made everything adjustable for a perfectly cavelike environment. Hello solid night's sleep! A small fridge in the room had little Coffeemate creamers for the in-room coffee maker, but there is always a coffee & tea station downstairs too. The town is literally across the street! The Baseball Hall of Fame & the Farmers Museum are both a block & a half away, and in between are several spirits shops, baseball stores, restaurants and a bakery. We did not really see the grounds that night when we drove in. We had to 'self check-in' and found our room. We were pleasantly surprised at how great the room was. We had a wood burning stove, flat screen TV, huge bed with comfy bed linens, and a huge private bathroom. The next morning we woke up to the smells of breakfast. We made it out to the dining room and there was a delicious spread along with the owners serving us and making plenty if conversation. We really enjoyed it. After breakfast we took a walk around the property, WOW. It was amazing. The farm is so pretty and truly a great spot for leaf peeping. I can't wait to go back next year!!
