They don't care if they have long term cuatomers. This establishment has been a place we enjoy going with our children for the last 10+ years. We drive quite a distance to visit. Today the tree selection was very good but the customer service from the lady running the shop was very disrespectful. I in no means discount or disrespect people's feelings on the current health crisis but since we did not bring masks with us and some of us don't wear them for health reasons we were treated like we were not welcome and told we should shop somewhere else. Had she just explained that they require the masks with no exceptions indoors politely and respectfully, I would have no problem and we would have stayed outdoors. This is a family tradition that started when my kids were little. Besides picking out and cutting your own tree; Santa is there, they have hot chocolate, cute cut outs for kids to put their face in for pictures and, when you've cut the perfect tree you can catch a ride back by horse drawn wagon, Thomas the Train and others. They have a beautiful selection of ornaments, wreaths, precut tress and the staff is friendly and helpful. They will shake and bale your tree for free and if you have a spike stand, they will drill trunk for free as well. Even though our kids are grown and moved to their own homes, my husband and I still go here and cut a tree every year, the trees this year are exceptional. The only difference now is we go during the week to avoid the crowds. They make the tree experience all about families here and because there is so much for the kids it is quite busy on the weekends so you can expect to wait to pay for things as well as seeing Santa or some of the other experiences , but it is well worth it. Also, be respectful and leave your dogs at home, they have horses that could be spooked by them. read more

We've been going to the same place to cut down our tree for 27 years. Sadly, they chose not to be open on 12/21/19, and my daughter wasn't able to come home until then. So, we had to look for a new place, and found Whispering Pines online. We were afraid the trees would be picked over, but that wasn't the case! We enjoyed taking Thomas the Train our to find our tree. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The tree was shaken to remove loose needles, and bound to fit in our truck. We enjoyed browsing the store. Santa had already left to head back to the North Pole, but that was OK. As a bonus, we found Wayne's family restaurant in nearby Oconto, and enjoyed their blue ribbon winning pie. We will be back to our new tree farm in 2020! read more

My family has cut down our tree here every year! Loved the quaintness of the shop, we always stopped for a hot dog and cookie after. It was Christmas tradition. The tree farm started to become so commercialized, but this year it was shocking. They turned the entire place into a cheap over-priced gift shop..this has become a turn and burn for money. My mother and I cut down our tree and dragged it back to get it bundled and pre-drilled for the stand, the teen boys finally met us halfway after sitting around the entire time. After asking for help tying the tree to the car, they said no we cannot help at all because of liability reasons, what?! They offered to help place it on, but they did not even make the effort to stand up to help. I had to drag the tree to the car and watch my mother struggle to tie it on top.To top it all off when we got home, the tree was not even standing straight in the stand..it was tilted because of the drilling job. My mother called the owner and she never even apologized. Her solution was to just put some newspaper under it. My mother mentioned the tree farm has changed so much and her reaction was incredibly snippy. We drove over an hour and paid over $50 for horrible customer service there, and even got a second dose on the phone. Terrible. Not sure how this business will survive if the owner cannot even be friendly and customer-oriented. read more

Beautiful trees, terrible experience. Our family didn't know that dogs weren't allowed - we just moved to the area and didn't see signs posted. Honestly, I've never been made to feel less welcomed at a business. Our very well behaved Labrador and I stood and waited while the rest of the family got the tree. I get not allowing dogs, no problem! But please don't make me feel like a naughty child - I'm a grown woman that only needs to be made aware of a rule once, not three times in quick succession. I was polite, apologized and went no further. The continued scolding was unnecessary. The search for another place to celebrate the season continues. read more

We were a long time customer of Whispering Pines Tree Farm...it used to be a wonderful experience. We will be looking for a new place for our next Christmas tree. It has become so commercial, and the customer service is suffering. This last year, most of the zones, were picked through with limited selection. Asked them to drill a hole for the stand (which we bought from them many years ago). It wasn't deep enough, and was crooked, so our tree was not straight. For the first time ever, we had to remove the tree prior to New Years, because it dried out very quickly...yet still had plenty of water in the container (again, due to the poor drilling). This used to be THE place to get a tree...they have suffered due to their success. It is really too bad...great memories. We will not be back. read more
