I felt like I was part of the town for a minute there. There's a great restaurant across the street (AJ's), like about thirty feet away and Bunnell Street Art Center next to that. The hotel staff use texting as the primary way to communicate. This was nice - when we wanted extra towels we just sent a text.

Just beware, that if you stay here in the off-season, you are pretty much out on the spit by yourself with almost no amenities available. The stay at the cabin was great, there was plenty of room for our family of four and we felt like we were away in a cabin deep in the woods. We were close to amenities if needed. Our trips were all within two hours which gave us the opportunity to see much of Alaska. We rafted, ocean fished, whale watched, rode atv's, rode in a helicopter, dog sledded and fished in the Kenai river. Our trip was spectacular and it is all due to Andrea and Jeremy. They were wonderful and gracious hosts!
