The Cadeleigh Arms is somewhat hard to find, being out-of-town between Crediton and Tiverton but…read moreonce discovered you're in for a real treat! It's run by the lovely Jane Dreyer and her very friendly staff who could not have been more helpful. To start, I ordered Prawn Tempura that arrived perfectly cooked and accompanied with a selection of bean sprouts giving it just the right amount of 'bite' and freshness whilst the prawns were in a light, crisp and delicious tempura batter. To follow was probably the best plate of roast beef I've ever tasked in a pub, with a Yorkshire pudding the size of a bowler hat, but tasting considerably better. Lovely crispy vegetables, perfect roast potatoes and to follow a truly delicious Crepe Suzette with a large blob of thick, Devon ice cream. Added to all this some lovely wines, delicious fresh coffee and the November drizzle outside was soon forgotten as the afternoon ebbed away in front of the cheerfully blazing log fire. All this for about £36 per head, including service and I reckon it's hard to beat! I'll certainly be back with some really London foodie-friends of mine.

It's now a lovely country pub with everything you'd expect - open fire, sports bar (pool table and darts board), a skittle alley and a cozy main bar area. They serve good food, mostly locally sourced and are proving popular with locals and those from further afield. The village has regained a lovely, friendly pub :) For the record - I am not the owner or landlord!!

Uneducated staff, from bartender to manager! Came back to Tiverton where I used to live and after…read more10 years decided to go to Remedies with a friend for a few drinks. Having drunk a couple pints of Fosters my friend offered to get another round and this time we decided to go for a couple pints of Heineken. My friend ordered these and just after his first sip he mentioned to me that the beer tasted strange, it was quite unpleasant in fact, both pints! Strait after I called the girl who served us and explained that these didn't taste right, she told me that she would get someone. Another bartender came, gentleman with glasses and beard and started to excuse it due to the girl being new in the job. ...I asked him if we could exchange the pints for Fosters instead, which he denied and to my astonishment he told me that the beers we had ordered were Fosters and said that they were out of Heineken! And just to top it up he told me that he heard me ordering it and that I asked for Fosters, a clear lie, my friend was the one who placed the order (and we look nothing alike)! I asked him to speak to the manager and he told me to speak to one of the security guys if I wanted to complain. I then went to speak to the closest security gentleman, explained the situation, he then took both pints with him and went somewhere. After a while he came back with both pints and told me that the manager said that there was nothing wrong with it. Clearly not happy with the resolution I asked him how I could raise a complaint. He said some website's address, I reached for my phone and started to write...he left...after few minutes of waiting I saw him and asked again for the address , no address given! Somehow a manager lady appeared from nowhere, I explained again and she said its normal they taste different, these were Heineken! I then mentioned that I had been told there was no Heineken, and having had enough of complaining I asked all I wanted was for the pints to be exchanged for Fosters. After this, she didn't say anymore and exchanged the beers! Never again
