With all that is going on right now keeping some sort of normalcy in the lives of the kids is very important. White Dragon East County has really stepped up in providing us with online training and lessons. It is something for my family to look forward to every day. Not only does it allow the students to participate but the other family members can join in as well. They treat us all as if we were family. If you are considering martial arts of any kind I would highly recommend White Dragon East County. They have a lot to offer.

We are excited to rejoin the white dragon family. The instructors are just as amazing as the atmosphere. They have complete control with the kids and even help give guidance where needed (especially on making sure they have good form). Everyone works together and we couldn't be happier!

It is remarkable watching my son grow in discipline, improve his listening and body control, exhibit respect for others, and be excited about seeing his friends 3x/week to learn more jiu jitsu! My son is home-schooled, and Silva Jiu Jitsu provides an environment that he can socialize with kids his same age and learn new skills in a cooperative manner, in the spirit of competition. I'm excited for his first invitational where he will be challenged to demonstrate what he's learned these past few months, especially losing and winning matches with grace and humility. I'm strongly considering signing up myself, having no MMA background whatsoever, thanks to the inspiration provided by Silva Jiu Jitsu!

I'm a complete beginner, overweight, almost…read more40, and had absolutely no experience in any type of MMA, team sports, or group exercise, so if I can do it, you can too. Switch offers a wide variety of classes. They have a gym on one side with strength and conditioning classes, and MMA and boxing classes on the other, they sell gear, the bathrooms are clean, the music is great, plenty of parking, and I think they have a shower. The classes are consistent and run throughout the early morning into the evening, which makes it easy to find something that fits your schedule. The best part of all is the people, the coaches and the students. You really do run into every type of person there, and everyone is welcome. I genuinely feel that. You just have to show up with respect and a little dedication. I've had the pleasure of learning from Coach Marvin, Coach Andre, and Coach Rob, who owns the gym, he is definitely doing something right. They all have so much to offer. The 7am Muay Thai Coach, Coach Marvin has an incredible eye for detail and can explain or show technique in different ways depending on what clicks for you. He doesn't just explain how to do something, he explains why, which shows how deep his knowledge really is. He also has thoughtful things to say beyond technique and understands that everyone comes in for different reasons, which makes his perspective really valuable. Rob and Andre have also coached early morning Muay Thai, and they're both extremely talented and give you personal pointers. It's cool getting a mix of styles, but what stands out is that they all build off each other's teaching and give each other credit. There's a lot of respect there. All 3 make it fun and motivating. It's a perfect balance of work, discipline, and even humor. You walk out feeling accomplished and better than when you walked in. The environment stays positive. I haven't met one rude person. Everyone has been cool, understanding that I'm new, and willing to offer support or advice. Watching the more experienced students drill together gives you something to work toward. At first there may be disomfort like youre slowing people down but everyone starts somewhere. Many great things in life take the most effort. They offer free trials, what do you have to lose?

I was charged 80 for a private and 25 for a day pass when I thought I was going to be spending like 200 bucks total. I was very happy and content with the training. I felt welcome in the classes I took. I always learn a couple things when I go out of town and train at different gyms. Some coaches are kickers, some are punchers and others really enjoy the elbows when training Muay thai. It's good to be balanced all around and I'll be coming back tomorrow and probably each day I'm in town. When I looked at who the head coach was I was surprised. I used to watch Bellator and Pride Fighting all the time back in the day before the UFC took over all of tv. These guys are the real deal and are professional. Thanks again coaches I appreciate it.

Extremely Disappointed - Felt Neglected and Discriminated I…read moredon't usually leave reviews for a Jiu Jitsu establishment, but I feel compelled to share our experience with Infinity Jiu Jitsu. My son, who has been diagnosed with ASD, was scheduled for his second trial class. We showed up early and waited patiently--for over 35 minutes past our appt time. There was no front desk staff to check him in, and the coach told us to wait for the check in person and proceed to completely ignored us. He clearly started the 4 PM class we were scheduled the trial for. Shouldn't there be a list of students prior to starting the class for the coach to see? It felt like we were invisible just because we weren't paying members yet. This was supposed to be a welcoming environment, but instead, we were left feeling neglected, disappointed, and discriminated against. On top of that, the facility itself was cramped and located next to a foul-smelling dumpster--not the kind of place I'd want my child to spend time in. I don't know how this place had operated before with all previous year 5 star reviews, but as of today, they have clearly lost their touch and a potential enrollment. I'm so glad we didn't sign up. No child--especially one with special needs--should be made to feel this unseen. If you're looking for a place that respects and supports every student, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

Hardcore Fitness is far more than just a regular gym. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed and supported. Every trainer has encouraged me throughout my fitness journey, especially Athena, Giovanny, Hesham, and Jose. Each of them has made a significant impact on my growth, confidence, and success. What truly sets this gym apart is the genuine care the trainers have for their members. If you're dealing with an injury, such as a shoulder or knee issue, they will always provide alternative exercises and modifications to help you continue progressing safely. They want to see you succeed, no matter what challenges you face. That dedication, support, and sense of community are why Hardcore Fitness of El Cajon holds such a special place in my heart. I'm incredibly grateful to be part of this fitness family.

Well... let me start with a confession: I've spent years avoiding private gyms like they were…read moreextended car warranties. We had a perfectly good home gym. I also work out at the fire station consistently. Life was structured, predictable, and free of the "let me show you around" tour. Then last summer happened. I decided to temporarily join a gym. You know, the classic three month commitment that absolutely never turns into anything longer. This was mainly to support my daughter as she headed into her high school soccer season while rehabbing from ACL surgery. So I reluctantly agreed. Signed the papers. Mentally prepared to count down 90 days. Then we met Brittany, the gym manager. Problem number one: she was actually great. Super friendly, respectful, and did not hit us with the usual high pressure sales pitch. Honestly, she could have sold ice to a fire crew without trying. Next thing you know, we are signed up and showing up. And here is where things went sideways in a good way. Hardcore Fitness El Cajon is nothing like the other gyms we have tried. Brittany sets the tone. She is not just behind a desk, she is in there working out with everyone else, keeping the energy high and making the place feel legit. Now the trainers. Diego. This guy is dialed in. I am there at 0530, barely functional, and he is making rounds correcting form at every station like a fitness sniper. I used to hate being coached. Now it actually helps and somehow does not annoy me. Hesham. Equal parts coach and stand up comedian. Keeps things light, keeps you moving, and somehow makes you feel like a champion even when you are questioning your life choices mid workout. Gio. Pretty sure his mission is to make everyone sweat out their entire life story. I hear he writes the workouts now, which explains a lot. Respectfully brutal. Johannes. Top tier coach. He worked with my daughter during her knee rehab and did an outstanding job. That alone says a lot. Athena. High energy, funny, and very easy to stay focused around... or at least try to. She brings a ton of motivation to every class. I know I am missing a few, but the entire staff is solid. What really stands out is the community. No ego, no weird vibes, no cliques. Does not matter who you are or where you are from, everyone gets along and puts in the work. And here is the part I did not expect. For the first time, I am actually consistent. Not "I worked out twice this week so I deserve a reward meal" consistent. Real consistent. And I am seeing results. Strength is up, agility is better, and apparently I now have what can only be described as beach muscles. I am not entirely sure when that happened, but I am not questioning it. So here I am. A guy who avoided gyms for years... actually recommending one.
