The girl that did my manicure was very nice, but had a hard time getting my gel off so I ended up scraping it off my nails myself, and then the polish she used came out bubbly. Not worth the £50. The hotel also has a gym and free bicycles you can use. About 1/4 mile down the street are 14th century ruins that are worth a visit, just follow the signs to the church.

The inn is staffed by a seemingly small but professional staff who check you in, draw you a pint, and show you to your room. The rooms are a bit small (it dates to the 15th Century) but comfortable and well appointed. The inn serves 3 meals a day and the menu is rather upscale. I only had lunch which was delicious and commensurately priced. The inn isn't really within walking distance from much to do so have a plan to get out an about via car. Overall, not a 5 star experience by far but very nice and recommended.

The rooms are clean, well kept and with a very comfortable bed, actually enough of a comfortable bed that we pulled it out from the wall to see if we could find out what type of mattress it was. Because the hotel is 'new', opened in Feb 2014, the delivery tags were still attached. It was pocket sprung, with a foam topper. There is a restaurant come bar downstairs, which we didn't go to. It looked a little like a cafeteria in an airport, but I guess you shouldn't judge without trying. My main gripe, and what makes this less than a 5-star review is the WiFi. You get 30 minutes of time connected after going through the login page, which loads painfully slowly because of the suspicious total lack of 3G connectivity inside (and only inside) the hotel. The 30 minutes are counted from the second you login, there is no logout, and that is all you get for free in 24hrs. You can buy more time online for about £3 per day, but only using the checkout process separately - it can't be booked ahead of time or just added to your room bill. The frustrating free taste of the internet connection also confirmed that it is in-fact a crappy 8mb adsl connection anyway. Please hotels, get a damn fibre connection and let people use it, it really isn't expensive if you add a couple of quid to the room. Okay, enough of the rant. The location is pretty good, you can walk to Witney town centre in about 15 minutes. If I ever come back, then this is where I will stay, no question...well, provided they fix their internet connection ;)

If you ever stay in this hotel and want a really special treat I would recommend booking a RIver view suite. Each suite is named after luxury champagne and the river view suites are called Comtes de Champagne, Laurent Perrier and Ruinart . These are duplex rooms with King size beds with Egyptian cotton. Each having stunning open plan bathrooms and lounge area upstairs with French doors leading onto a heated balcony and outdoor bath with breathtaking views of the River Thames and Regatta lawns. The bathroom has another flat screen television and each bathroom has a open rolltop bath enough to share for two people and a monsoon walk in shower which there is ampul of complimentary toiletries. There is a double sink and a large mirror as well as a very large L shaped leather sofa. The amazing view outside can also be enjoyed in another roll top bath outside which is allows you privacy from other rooms or buildings but also you can enjoy the beauty of the stars in the sky at night! I go here every year and try to stay more than one night! It's a luxury treat but a very romantic weekend!
