It was easy to find what I needed, and the layout makes browsing simple even if you're short on time. I just wish they sold the craft beer as singles without having to get a whole 4 pack. I didn't get a chance to fully explore (and just realized they apparently have a food/market section too, which I totally missed), but based on this visit I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again when I have more time to look around. Just had lunch at White Horse Liquors--yes, the liquor store--and was pleasantly surprised by the deli inside. It has a bit of a hip, modern feel with a thoughtfully curated menu. I ordered the Casanova: Prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, house-made pesto, roasted red peppers, and arugula on a freshly baked French roll. I went with it cold, which I think is the right call, though I'd be interested in trying it lightly toasted next time. The sandwich was outstanding. You can genuinely taste the freshness of the ingredients--from the bread to the mozzarella and crisp arugula. Simple, well-executed, and very satisfying. 5/5. Love this store, you never leave with yours hands empty even if you think you came to look. I have found most of what I've wanted and needed to include those premium hard to find bottles of bourbon. The place is always so clean and organized that makes the shopping experience very pleasant. The staff is very attentive, helpful and friendly, and even though I've had interactions with a few, I would say that Matt is very knowledgeable and willing to go that extra mile. I wouldn't doubt the other floor staff would do the same. I have also purchased from the deli side, some cheeses, spread and items to go with my drinks. Love reading the staff recommendation cards, so spend longer in the store than intended. It's a place to visit at least once, I guarantee you will be back again and again. read more

Went to the new location for the first time and frankly I wasn't impressed. The market area didn't seem to have as much as the old location and they didn't have the prepared weekly dinner which I was hoping to get on this visit. I did try the salmon and zucchini fritters which were good. However, they gave me just one piece of salmon when I wanted two. The liquor store section was nicely labeled but it all felt very sterile to me. As someone else mentioned, the checkout lines seemed disorganized and someone jumped ahead of me because there was no clear queue. read more

First time visiting the new location yesterday. Same friendly staff and plenty of well priced alcohol as at the old location. The new place looks great and I would like to congratulate the owners and staff for pulling off such a BIG move. We love the ease of parking here and easy access to NJ avenue out back. We picked up several of our favorites as shown in the pics as well as a bottle of the spice, ZA'ATAR which we have not been able to find anywhere. We just discovered White Horse and WOW we are so happy we did. During covid times, meals can feel bleak, especially because we only do takeout every once in a while, and this place just gave us new hope and excitement for takeout in the South Jersey area. Curbside pick up and safe covid measures are very important to us. The customer service is stellar, everyone is so kind and being as safe as they can be. The food is delectable and fresh. They have many vegetarian options, like the Falafel bowl, tofu bowl and veggie cheese board, and lots of great meat eater options too! I used to go in this store for the food and pick up some alcohol from time to time. There was an employee there by the name of Monica which used to help me pick out wines she was very knowledgeable and seemed to be a very hard worker! Last 3 times I went in I did not see her and asked for her. I was told she was released from her position! I then read a post here on yelp and see that a customer made a cowardly complaint on here which I would bet the farm she was fired for! The guy was upset because he was called out for messing up the men's room! So he ran home cried and made a post on yelp! We'll White Horse Liquors you lost my business! Blew my mind how much they can put in one package store ! Family owned and operated . The wine & beer selection is massive with really low prices . They sell a nice selection of mixers too . They also have a market area with snacks,notebooks,cookbooks ,chips, jelly & dips . The Market (food area) has a small but adequate menu of sandwiches, paninis & soups . They serve dinner toward the end of the week for certain hours (see pictures below ) . They have bakery items including one I purchased today , a olive oil wine cookie . Paired with my white wine I purchased earlier this is a nice treat. I am definitely coming back later when I have more time to shop. read more

Extremely cute liquor shop with an excellent selection, including even my ever hard to find ice wine! Heard they have delicious fresh sandwiches when the in house market is open as well (looks like it's closed Sundays and Mondays). Checked out some of the deli/market selections in the fridge today and looks like it has some healthy salads, salmons as well as meat and cheese combos to choose from. read more

They were inexpensive. For example the Monkey Bay Sauvignon blanc was priced similar to Delaware state prices. That's awesome! 3) The staff was friendly. First, the customer service here is about as good as it gets. No wine snobs here. Ask for a moderately priced or low cost wine and they take you right too it. If your into the finer wines they have plenty of them too. Very welcoming atmosphere. Have talked to bar owners and they tell me they have a hard time beating their prices directly from the suppliers. So if you looking to save money this is the place. If you can't find it here it doesn't exist. They have added a food section that stocks cheeses and meats and other, 'while you drinking wine snacks', all first class. Picked out some things, had specialty cheese sliced and requested it be put into a burlap bag. The specialty sliced cheese was sloppily wrapped, no Identification as to what brand of cheese The sausage roll I paid for was not in the burlap bag It was charged $150 and was without a doubt overpriced and extremely unprofessional. This place was absolutely AMAZING! I was living in California and planning a bachelorette in Avalon for my sister. I was able to order the catering trays and all of the alcohol online and pick it up on my way down to the shore. The staff was friendly, considerate, and easy to work with. They even called me after my order to see whether or not I wanted the wine chilled before I picked it up- it's hard to find customer service like that anymore! The catering trays were a delicious and a total hit with all of the girls, easy to pack up and put away in the fridge or pull out during downtime and snack on for late night. I also had to add an order last minute for Bloody Mary's for brunch and it was so simple to just go online and add a new order. We got a gift basket as well for a thank you gift and it exceeded all of my expectations. Love White Horse Wines and can't wait to come back again! read more

My boyfriend and I were stopping by Rite Aid which is located in the same complex and we passed by White Horse Wine & Spirits and decided to check it out. We needed to pick up a Christmas gift and we were specifically looking for red wine. This was a very highly organized and well stocked-up wine shop. I haven't been to too many wine shops, but this was the nicest so far. Everything is labeled and well maintained here. Great customer service here! A nice gentleman showed us around and gave us some good suggestions for red wine and was really knowledgeable. They even had sales on different types of wines. When we were ready to pay, the nice gentleman assisted us in our purchases and kindly helped us wrap the bottles of wine to make it look prettier. The gourmet food area is where this place really shines. One of the few places in the area where you can get high quality cheeses, charcuterie, etc. They also have great sandwiches.
