There is SO MUCH in this store that is NOT comics that it was amusing to me. Yes, they have your comics, but they also they have a lot of adjunct stuff. Do you collect statues? They have them. The owner is super cool; he made me a sweet deal on an Amazing Spider-Man 121--I've been want to add the Gwen Stacy Death story to my collection for some time. Oh, and the owner also let me go in the back to hunt down a few Golden Age comics. And finally, the Thing is my favorite superhero, so the name Yancy Street just strikes home for me. When it comes to scoring sweet comic books, Yancy Street Comics brings the "Clobberin Time."

This shop has probably the largest selection of fabrics I've ever seen. They have them organized…read morequite well in different rooms or walls. Unfortunately, I had an anxiety attack (which I never have had before) because all of the bolts are stacked on their sides with the butt end of the bolt showing (and a special coding that they use...ie. HOL for all the Holiday fabrics) but you can't see any of the fabric. The shelves are four layers high and new wrapped bolts are stacked on the top shelf up to the ceiling. Good luck finding fabrics for a project...unless you know specifically what you are looking for and then staff can enter in their system to see if they have it. Tried to check out their online store too...which seems just as chaotic as their store is. Good fabrics, but not set up well.

The store is totally organized but the huge selection can be overwhelming without some guidance. They carry good quality quilting cottons and even a room filled with 108 backings. Their prices are considerably better than most quilt stores. There is a whole room filled with batiks at $10 per yard.
