Very nice hotel with excellent service and hospitality and excellent location. Positives: We had a large Family Room for 3 people which was very clean, comfortable, and modern. It was located on a quiet street in Sultanhamet within a 5-minute walk to all the big sights such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. The rooms still feel new with updated plumbing, electrical (many outlets for charging), heating/cooling, and sound-proof windows. The rooms have safes, kettle with tea and coffee, mini bar (while inexpensive it is still more expensive than the little store across the street), hair dryer, and many toiletries. The wifi is free, fast, and reliable and they have a laptop you can borrow. We used their private transportation to/from the airport (50TL paid in cash) and we had absolutely no problems. The breakfast was free and we didn't have any problems. Breakfast was served until 10 and we didn't arrive until at least 9:20 every morning and there was plenty of food and items were refilled. There was a different selection of food on different mornings. One morning they were out of cold milk for the cereal and someone ran and got some and brought it to our table. On nice mornings, it was very pleasant to eat on the rooftop terrace. If you eat outside BEWARE the BIRDS! The first morning we put our full plates on an outside table and went back inside to get tea the birds ate from our plates. The staff (front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast room) at this hotel is incredible. They are nice and helpful and extremely hard working. We were there for 4 nights and the same people were always working. Twice when we were waiting in the lobby and the rooftop terrace they brought us Turkish coffee and Turkish Delight. One night they left us a bottle of wine and a basket of fruit. They also gave us a gift when we left. It was nice being so close to the main sights, as we had to try multiple times to get in the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia. They have postcards, maps, and guidebooks for sale in the lobby. Negatives: Noise. You can hear people in the hall and some noise from other rooms. One night we were woken at 3 am by people in the hall saying goodnight to each other and then we were woken again a few hours later by an early morning alarm in another room. No stopper for bathroom sink. The breakfast room is cramped with tables too big for the space. In spite of the negatives, if I were to return to the Sultanhamet area of Istanbul, I would stay here.
Amazing! 5* service the whole way. This hotel was great before we even checked in. We unknowingly booked flights that brought us into the airport on the Asian side of Istanbul, we emailed the hotel to ask about information for airport transfers. Not only did we get information, they set the whole thing up so that a car and driver meet us at airport arrivals. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly team, presented with a reception beverage and Turkish delight while the front desk person took care of all of the necessary checkin steps. We got a surprise upgrade to a beautiful room with candles, wine and rose petals - so romantic! Day two, we went up for breakfast on the roof. A traditional Turkish breakfast was set up at a table for two. The views of the surrounding area from the roof of this hotel are not to be missed. We were up there multiple times, nighttime, daytime, during the pouring rain - every time we got a different dramatic view. We asked about setting up an airport transfer for the following morning, this time to the European airport. No problem, set up in a second with the offer of a wakeup call and breakfast. The mini bar wasn't restocked on the second day, so we requested some extra beer and water to be sent up. They restocked it and left extra! Super nice! I hope one day we get back to Istanbul and if that happens we would without hesitation, book to stay here again. read more

Hands down the best customer experience I've ever had! Upon arrival, we were greeted by smiling staff who were ready to accommodate any of our needs. They welcomed us with fresh orange juice and Turkish delights as we waited for our room to be ready. Being a silly American, we booked a "single bed bedroom", which in the states means a queen/full bed, but actually meant a twin bed - which would not be comfortable for me and my partner. They kindly and generously upgraded us free of charge. They told us about the included breakfast the next morning, and when we told them we would be departing for the airport before 7 AM when the breakfast started, they offered to make us sandwiches for the ride. This is how you go above and beyond with customer service! None of this was expected, yet they were quick to offer more than we required. Even without the exceptional staff, the hotel is lovely, clean, and right in the heart of fantastic food and shopping. We were so grateful for the staff! They are truly the epitome of fantastic customer service! read more
We were so blessed with choosing the White House during our excursion to Istanbul. We were able to experience old Istanbul and historical landmarks around the corner while enjoying the warm hospitality of the staff. You can reach Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Basilica Cistern as well as the Topika palace within a mile range--while the grand bazaar and spice bazaar aren't too far either. From their balcony, where breakfast was served, there's a great view of the Blue Mosque both during the day and night time when its lights turn on and light up the sky. Everything is clean. It's a small boutique hotel so I felt like they were really taking care of us and taking us in. They had a special surprise during our check-in process, **spoiler alert**, where they greeted us with tea and Turkish delights, and prepared our room with petals and lit candles. I don't know if they do this for all guests or because we got the family room or because we were a couple. It has all the useful necessities: wifi, safe, rain shower, extra bed, desk, chairs, closet, ample space etc. We stayed for 5 days and staff were so nice, resourceful, attentive and friendly. I would say they have good team work who are really in sync, you don't feel the corporate oppression where you get denied or delayed something because they have a systematic process to follow. Instant gratification here. The only weird house body OCD this person (I) had was when water splashed out of the rain shower because the sliding French door had to be opened up when turning on the water. ;) Yes, that's it and event these minute complaints are dreamy. I had a great experience of Istanbul and it's people thanks to the White House!! read more

If you are visiting Istanbul, this is the place to stay. You can find good rooms and amenities everywhere, but at this place, not only the rooms and amenities are great, but the staff are extraordinary. Everyone will make you feel like home as you are not just a visitor there, but a part of their family. From the Owner Harun, Managers Kemal and Hakan, Seren and Iram to bell boys Burak and Cihan. They are always smiling and extremely courteous. You can ask for espresso coffee or Latte, juice or Turkish tea any time of the day or late at night without any charge, they will bring it to you with a smile. It is walking distance to everything. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and catch a Tram or walk to Grand Bazaar 2 stops away. Hundreds of restaurants, sweets and Shopping areas are surrounded around this Hotel. I cannot stress more to stay at this hotel if you like great rooms and a very professional and courteous staff. Thank you all for making my stay so comfortable and enjoyable. I don't normally review hotels on Yelp, but I'll review the White House Hotel everywhere! It was amazing! As soon as we walked in we were treated like royalty. I've never experienced a better check-in experience anywhere else. They immediately knew who we were (probably from the shuttle they setup from the airport), had us sit down on some rather comfortable couches in the lobby, and served us orange juice and Turkish Delights on a platter. When we got to our (upgraded) room, it was setup with rose petals, a personalized letter from the hotel owner, and a bottle of wine. The hotel itself was beautiful. Rooms were ornately decorated including what looked to be hand carved crown molding. There was a roof top patio with an amazing view, and 24/7 coffee! A typical Turkish breakfast was included and served on the roof. Everything about this place is A+. The service is the best I've ever experienced. Don't go for the fancy Four Seasons that costs 5 times as much. Stay here. You won't regret it! read more

My wife and I are from California and recently stayed at The White House during the month of October 2015 for 4 nights. We did as much research before deciding to book our stay at the hotel and, after doing so, The White House lived up to its reputation as the "Best" boutique hotel in the city. The hotel is spotlessly maintained. It is centrally located and within walking distance to all historical and religious attractions in Istanbul. The hotel is also located next to some of the finest restaurants within the city. The hotel provides a breakfast buffet on its roof top which is yummy. The young ladies who work at the restaurant, both named Gizem are warm, friendly and hospitable. The roof top where you can enjoy your breakfast has spectacular views of the city and its attractions. Our room was immaculate, bed very comfortable and had all the amenities you would need. The front desk staff at the hotel are all extremely friendly, helpful and very courteous. Harum, the owner of the hotel is wonderful to deal with and goes to great lengths to ensure that his guests are comfortable and well taken care of. He even provided transportation during the very early hours of the morning from his hotel to the airport. I can not say enough about The White House or its hospitality to my wife and I. I do want to say thank you to Harum and his staff. read more
