We stayed in the dog friendly seperate section so if you aren't so keen on dogs, there is a beautiful seperated restaurant next door. The food is immense, very original menu with locally sourced food and a twist on some pub classics. I would recommend the samosa starter and chicken pate.

Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

We had some delicious food. Everything was good from the soup of the day to the the daily specials. I had the lamb tagine which was very tasty. The pie of the day was lamb and mint which was also good. The fishy starters and mains were yum as were the desserts of plum and rhubarb crumble ,banoffee pie and sticky chocolate sponge to name just a few.. But inside it's quite a 'local' place; it's the kind of place that doesn't seem overly friendly with strangers. This behaviour always baffles me with a pub. When I used to manage a wine bar, you welcomed new blood around the bar because you'd get fed up talking to the same old people! No messing around in this place either, as it's well known as the watering hole of all the local police! But nevertheless, the beers good, the views are great, they have a full bar and plenty of comfortable seats. It's the kind of pub you can quite easily relax in and enjoy the crossword of a good book.
