Since being taken over by new management in 2010 this sucsesful little family run pub has only got…read morebetter. It hostes a selection of guest ales including my personal favourite german larger Warsteiner and various other real ales all worth a try. The small pub does offer food but I'm yet to try any, so I can't comment on the quality but all looks rather nice. The staff are as warm and friendly as the surroundings making it the ideal place for a pint and a bag of nuts after a hard days graft.

Super tasty quality food, I noticed that on the menu it even tells you which farm the meat came from, or where the ice cream was made etc. The Greek Lamb and the Gammon are both brilliant. The portions are huge and I'm always left with enough food for another meal but save room for the Holly Bush sundae because you wont ever have a such a selection of tasty locally made ice cream :) The prices are great too, last time I went it was around 30quid for the 2 of us.

Well, you can't get more authentic than a thatched roof and a bunch of friendly locals now can you? Sigh, even at the tender age of 26 I'm thinking this is the sort of place I could happily retire. In wintertime I imagine this pub would feel especially cosy, with a roaring fire and snug little corners. The drink prices are pretty normal really, rather reasonable and food-wise it actually has an award-winning chef at the helm. The restaurant is kind of separate but it's still perfectly acceptable to grab a few beverages and take them through with you. There's plenty of choice and everyone is well catered for, including vegetarians, plus the desserts are really something else and everything is truly homemade. Lunchtime special offers also come much appreciated.

I used doggiepubs app to find a decent, dog friendly pub and the Last Inn was top of the list and, in fact, the first place we saw as we arrived. As a great example, for £10 you get a two course Sunday roast which is utterly amazing (and huge!) which consists of Welsh black beef (they offer a veggie option too), colcannon, roast potatoes, stuffing, a selection of vegetables and a delightful little gravy boat all of your own. This filling feast is followed by your choice of hot dessert ranging from rice pudding to apple crumble, chocolate brownie through to jam roly poly and more. The food is traditional, delicious, piping hot and accompanied with friendly service. As well as the Sunday roast, they offer a broad menu, specials board and also have live music and other entertainment on throughout the week. Recently, they've also started serving good quality coffees and specialty teas, which just adds to the experience. As a dog owner, how a 'dog friendly pub' behaves towards my four legged friend also makes a difference. The Last Inn always bring a bowl of water over for Finn, and make a fuss of him, so they get my vote! Last Sunday's visit certainly won't be my last and if you're up that way, it's well worth a look!

Seemed that way to me for the most part. We came here more than once on this trip. It is a pretty interesting thing that they have going on here. Ok, maybe not super interesting, but interesting nonetheless. You can actually drink across the street from the pub. On any given summer night there could be 20-30 people sitting/standing along the fence across the street with plastic cups of beer or whatever. I imagine most of these folks are locals. We hung out out there one night and for the most part they seemed like locals. We were here on a Sunday night as well as a weekday night. Sunday night had live music. The other night had an open mic night. On the Sunday night we ended up eating dinner. We were able to procure a table outside which was quite lovely. I ended up having a nice steak that was cooked medium rare (it was one of the only times on this trip that I was asked how I wanted my meat prepared). It was a nice piece of meat and I would definitely order it again should I ever come back. I know I will be back in Barmouth again. If I had a choice of pubs to frequent in Barmouth, the Last Inn would be that choice.

The staff were all very welcoming, and we were all really impressed with the friendly, efficient service. The menu was full of English comfort foods...and they executed everything beautifully. Just look at my photos to get an idea...I tried the goats cheese and caramelised onion strudel, which came balanced on potatoes and perfect ratatouille. If you ever find yourself in this part of the country, it is definitely worth popping in here for some lunch! *Pro tip: It sounded like they get very booked up in the evening, so ring ahead to ensure you get a table!!

Both times that we came, the food was bursting with delicious, fresh flavors. The halloumi fries had the squeaky bite they're known for. The fish and chips had a light and crispy batter and flaky fish. The cheese and potato pie was creamy comfort. Both of these dishes were recommended and ordering twice. The steak sandwich was tender and meaty. Desserts were sweet, satisfying, and left us all feeling quite content after the savoriness of our meals. We had the same server both times and she was fantastic! She was friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything plus any extras that were needed. It's got to be said that the view here is phenomenal! The Corn Mill hangs above the River Dee, which gives spectacular views. The patio area makes one feel like they're floating above the river, while the dining room's spacious windows give a full view. Before you leave, take a little walk outside and head on down to see the mill that gives the restaurant its name.

That said it was my mother in laws birthday and I knew they were eating there in the evening with friends. I called up the pub to see if I could order a surprise birthday cake and pay over the phone. Although they said that they did not make birthday cakes they were happy to go to the local bakery and get me one I called up on the night not really expecting that they had as I had not been asked to pay anything. To my delight they had got the cake and I ordered a bottle of reasonably priced champagne at the same time. They couldn't have been more helpful even to the point of calling me back to say that my mother in law had almost been in tears when they gave her the champagne and told them my message. When the time for the cake came, they had added candles and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. All in all they were great and made my mother in laws birthday really special!
