I absolutely loved my first time coming to this office for a prenatal chiropractic visit! The staff…read moreis very nice and welcoming. The ambiance of the waiting room is very calming and I love their decor. They have soft spa music playing and a tea station. One of the staff members took me into a room to do a few intake tests. I changed into a gown and she provided privacy while I did so. She tested my back with these probes to see where I had inflammation and did a stress response test. Then I was taken to another exam room to see Dr. Burk. She is very energetic and explains things well in detail. She asked me a few background questions first about my medical history, any past injuries and previous chiropractic history. I showed her a few reports of prior imaging that I've had done before. After that we did my adjustments and she explained along the way what she saw and what the treatment was that she was doing. She accommodated my belly with a special pillow so that I could lie flat face down for my back adjustment and protect baby. She used a certain equipment that let her adjust my spine without putting that much pressure. My primary reason for coming was to have better hip alignment to prepare me for delivery in a few months. Overall I really enjoyed my first visit here. I'll have to see how my body adjustments do to say how often I will come. They do not take insurance, so everything is self-pay but it was worth it. The first exam is always going to be the most expensive and the subsequent visits will be a little cheaper. They do offer prenatal massages here as well, but IMO a little too pricey.

I like the location because it is a little away from Chinatown on Bellaire and a quick access to Southwest Freeway with plenty of parking. It is nice to see Mrs. Cheng working in the clinic with Dr. Cheng, it is amazing to see them work so flawless together. I am not shy asking questions, they answer patiently never show sign of impatience. They are very accommodating, when I mess up my schedule came to the appointment on a wrong day. I know it will take a while to remediate my health problems, but in two and half months, we are seeing clear improving signs.

Like many of his patients, I decided to try acupuncture for inflammation and boy was I in for a surprise! He listened and was quick to communicate he is knowledgeable about knee injuries and started working on my knee right away. I walked in with crutches and I walked out without them!! Now mind you I had gotten clearance from my primary to walk right before but I still wasn't able to and I had some ptsd from falling. He didn't just address physical, he helped me with my emotional shift around walking. The deep bone massage is pain, you will need to take a tylonel or get some numbing cream from a cvs right before. But he explains exactly how he is creating blood flow to the area and tries different movements to pinpoint exactly where your issue is. No other doctor actually attempted to identify where the injury was on my leg and related bones/muscles. I had neen to three. I am going to him weekly because every appointment shows significant improvement, and his cost is very reasonable. He is truly an expert in his craft. No masking the injury with drugs or letting nature take its course. He actually directly addresses and fixes your problem. 100/10!

I originally planned to make an appointment with a traditional doctor when I had an excruciating…read morepain in my neck. I initially ignored the pain , thinking it would eventually go away, but after getting a couple sleepless nights, I decided it was time for someone to examine to make sure it wasn't anything serious. I was expecting pages of insurance paperwork, a prescription for various pain medications, and an order to receive weeks of therapy and/or massages. However, I was referred to Houston Accupuncture by a friend so I made an appointment with Jannie Chiang instead of going to a traditional hospital/clinic. Within minutes of my visit, after accupressure and accupuncture, the pain was gone! No unnecessary x-rays, medications, or therapies needed. This visit has definitely changed my perspective on how I initially approach any future healthcare needs.
