After speaking with Kevin, I asked several questions that I had (I had even researched questions to ask!) and Kevin answered them in a very knowledgable and professional manner. He charges by square foot of the house and I found his pricing to be very reasonable. It makes sense to charge this way because he really does inspect every nook and cranny of the house. Upon hiring him, Kevin and BJ showed up and did my inspection. I followed the whole time and they pointed out issues and also explained to me what and why it was an issue. Any questions that I had were answered, and they made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole inspection even though I was breathing down their necks asking questions. Once the inspection was over, their report was well documented with pictures and annotations. I even hired them to do a mold inspection which is very necessary in Cloudcroft. I'm still waiting on the lab results, but I have stayed in contact with Kevin and any question I have or help I need he has been polite enough to help me with. I feel very content with Quality Home Inspectors and feel that they really did go above and beyond for me. I hope this review helps their business as they truly deserve it. I'm buying a house in La Luz and the Home Inspector said that we needed to get a roofing contractor to look at the roof, especially since there is some wrinkles in the covering (flat - built-up roof), and because the roof was replaced two years earlier by the owner (not using a contractor). I used Clint Hicks because he has an adequate web site and there were not any negative reviews on him from the many review sites out there. I didn't find any positive reviews on any roofers in the Alamogordo area from any web sites. I was able to get Clint to come out to the property after normal working hours on a day's notice. Not only did he not charge me for an estimate, he told me that we only need minor work done that we can do ourselves. PLUS - he provided a detailed explanation on how to do the work and what material to use. Honest contractors are so hard to find. Thank goodness that my spin of the roulette wheel landed on Clint Hicks. When I do need a new roof, he will be my first call for an estimate. Of course, since I don't need a new roof, I can't tell you how good a job he does or how reasonable his rates are. I hope to see more reviews here covering those issues when I do need a new roof in ~8 years.

Just bought a rental and they missed a huge issue costing me over 3k so far. A simple clogged drain that if they checked by simply running the shower for longer than a minute would have bee seen and noted. Sounds like they rush through inspections and if they missed and cut this corner, who knows what else was missed. As a person in realty profession, this company will not be recommended anymore and advise to never use them in the future. On top of that I tried to contact them about there negligence on completing a good job and pretty much just blew me off. This was a visual problem that a home inspector should have been caught. Home inspectors are a buyers defense against seller non disclosures and to safe guard the purchase from incidents like mine. After we finish this repair my lawyer will be contacting them and we will be pursuing them to the fullest. I recommend to avoid this kind of situation and time involvement and find a better inspector who can do their job right. If I could leave zero starts I would.

This guy didn't it know how our rain bird irrigation system worked, So he reported it as broken. In fact, anything he couldn't figure out how to turn on or use, he reported as broken. To top it off, the inspector lies by telling the buyer that "most" of our toilets leaked, when only one did and reported a pool leak that isn't there! Obviously this guy has no idea how to inspect a home and colluded with the buyers agent and they buyer to get them out of the contract. My experience with Ramsey as an inspector is the worst I've ever had! In 2010 Ramsey conducted the inspection of my home in Las Cruces, NM, 88005. At that point, I thought that Ramsay had done an outstanding job inspecting the property I was preparing to buy. I was impressed with his evaluation, so I proceeded to make an offer, and later closed on this property. Later, in 2012, after reaching my retirement - and in keeping with my husband's dream to live in retirement in Ruidoso, NM -  we decided to sell this wonderful home. A couple who knows the property, and loves it as much as we do, expressed their interest and soon made an offer. Much to our surprise, when conducting the 2012 inspection (merely two years after conducting the inspection which formed the basis of my confidence about purchasing this property) Ramsey "discovered" a litany of suddenly new faults and deficiencies. He presented these issues as such significant concern that our buyers became scared to commit, retrieved the moneys they had put in escrow, and walked away from the purchase. Ramsey's list of deficiencies (none of which existed in 2010, and we've taken great care of this home) was significant! So far, we've spent nearly TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS addressing these issues, in order to bring the home up to his standards. One of his biggest concerns...is a stained glass window in one of the bedrooms. According to inspection, this a tremendous safety violation. The window has been there for twenty-eight years, since the home was built. Moreover, that window was there when I was the party interested in buying the property, and hired Ramsey to inspect the house. We have two air conditioning units on the roof. They are in good shape and work well. According to Ramsey, they're no good. Having reviewed his newfound complaints about the property, I asked Ramsey to conduct a walk-through of the property with us, so he could point out his areas of concern. He refuses to do this. When I asked him why he had found so many new flaws, considering that no concerns had been raised about any of these issues during the inspection he conducted when I was purchasing the property, he gave me the smart-aleck answer of, "Maybe I've become a better inspector." In conclusion: for reasons unbeknownst to us, Inspector Douglas Ramsey bears prejudice against my husband and myself. We have made repairs and upgrades to this property during the time we've lived in it, and this house is in great shape. He's either invented a list of concerns which were not of concern during his inspection three years ago, or he glossed over the concerns because he was paid off by the original seller and instructed to not bring the issues to light when I was the buyer. Please be advised of this practice of discrimination on the part of this inspector when dealing with your home, and major investment.

They came out, measured the old roof, and explained and recommended the best replacement. We did wait a few months for the roof to arrive, but that was to be expected as we ordered a metal roof, and it's delivery delay was due to the pandemic. Once it was delivered, the Bass Brothers did not delay, they got right to work. They removed and replaced the rotted boards, nails, and gutters. James Sears actually came out in person and provided us with a complete estimate and contract, kept in touch with us when needed, told us approximately when they would be out to do the job and approximately when they would be finished. Then the job was actually done! Two other local roofers never even returned my call so I called one out-of-towner and I received an estimate on the back of a business card which was outrageously high. A fourth business finally came out for an estimate and was only marginally higher but by then I had told James that they had the job. Yes of course there were a couple hiccups, but anytime you have a crew of people working outdoors in our harsh & unpredictable climate, there's going to be a few issues. The only thing I'm going to say about that is, they took care of it.
