I received a haircut from Gerra this week. it turned out very bad with several areas not blended in and several sections just buzzed from the bottom.  I came in today, and told the young man I had a problem with my haircut and would like to get it fixed. I was not upset I was very kind and calm.  Once I got into Gerra's chair she told me not to be rude because apparently by telling her what I needed I was being rude. I do not know what she meant by that. I would like to think this is a better run establishment than this. When someone messes up they should fix it without calling the customer rude or telling the customer they shouldn't have said something in front of another customer... I only did what she asked me after I told the young man I needed my haircut fixed, which was come around the corner and tell her the problem. She initially said oh I must have done that in purpose, but after I showed her the multiple messed up areas she became defensive... I did exactly what she said...  which was to come around the corner and tell her what the problem was. Apparently that was rude. Don't have a reason to go back. read more

They do not accept walk ins and if you are a few minutes late forget about getting a haircut or good customer service. Honestly this place is difficult to deal with. Last time I went I arrived 7 minutes late to an appointment. It has never taken more than 15 minutes for my haircut and I was told that due to me being 7 mins late they couldn't do the haircut. Go goes to a barber shop when your on vacation - trusting you hair to someone you never met before? Apparently I do. I needed a haircut and beard trim after 7 days on vacation - and jetting off to a week of training for work once I got back home. One of those weird moments when you realize you are out of time to get what you need done, done. My son and I walked in and were greeted by a gal who asked us to register in their computer. I had to do it twice, once for my son, and once for me. I could have selected my barber, but not knowing anyone, I picked "first available" for both of us. The wait was short for both of us and my barber was super friendly. In the end, we both felt like we got a better cut than we do from our regular barber. read more

Overall, I had an okay experience here. I wanted to like it. The shop itself is very cool. Great vintage vibe going on. I was expecting vintage cuts, with solid fade game. But I was met with walmart quality haircuts after waiting almost an hour and a half for an open seat. It wasn't even, and overall very dull. For the almost $20-$30 price point, it wasn't worth it. This is my favorite place to get a haircut in Chattanooga, TN. They do a great hot shave that's hard to stay awake for it's so relaxing and the precision with their cuts is nothing short of excellent. They always have plenty of barbers on the floor but be prepared for a wait because this isn't a hidden gem. All the locals know about this spot and for a good reason. This place is TRASH. Do not ever give this barbershop a chance. I showed up 40 minutes before they closed and they told me they couldn't cut my hair, when they had people standing around doing nothing! Apparently they don't like money. The one time they did cut my hair, it looked like a kindergartner cutting his own hair. Worse than Donald Trump! Turned my beautiful locks into a tumble weed. This is my second five star rating, and it's for a reason! Usually a great clips, sports clips, super cuts kinda guy, I decided instead of sitting in the chair pissed about how shitty of a haircut I was getting, i would try something different. Man!This place does it right, I had Frankie and the woman can flat out cut some hair. I asked for a good trim, and she spent about 25 mins scissor clipping all of my hair, and then finished it off by applying warm foam and straight razoring my neck hairs and around my ears. I often see on reviews people making claims about things being the BEST THEY EVER HAD!! And I frankly think those people are just blowing smoke. I stand firmly by the statement that this place is a top notch establishment and gave me the best haircut I've ever received!! It's 18$ for a regular haircut read more

I have had exceptionally bad service at many service industries. However, having your barber talk about procurement if a licence in Texas is not a reason to be irked. Talking over me to another barber is rude. Lack of concern for the patron disrespects the customer is poor business. If I have to explain how to taper a cut, then I must question the skill of my barber. I have been there once since my haircut from the abyss. The atmosphere was the same, a complete disregard for the client. I recommend you avoid this place. The only reason I gave it two stats is because they did indeed cut my hair. The place is clean and it is clear that they care about their place and what they do. And i just had near the best haircut i've had in a long time - should have gone here the morning of my wedding. Ok! Now I am not like most men, I am very particular about how my hair gets done. I like the technique of scissors over comb, and I rarely like any clippers to be the choice of tool by the stylist/barber. My cut is a classic men's haircut. The thing of it all is that I have scoured the cities, I have lived in. New York, Boston and Nashville, just to name a few. Only so that I could find the right place for me to get my hair-cut! I will refuse a haircut from just anyone. It has been a series of attempts in communication, image showing, detailed drawings...you name it. Just to achieve that vintage classic men's hair-cut. At times I have had to pay over $50 for the bells and whistles. No man should have to pay that much for a haircut! You will not have to worry about any of that at White Oak Barber Shop. You will not get an espresso or tea with a biscuit while you wait to get a cut, either, However, you will walk out of there feeling good about yourself and very content for days after. This place is clearly a gem. I walked in. Put my name down. Checked the name of the person I wanted my cut with, look a seat until my name was called. I knew from word of mouth that this woman by the name of Frankie was the one to go to for the vintage style of cut, using the method I mentioned above. With the scissors over comb method. Not only did she use the appropriate method. She taught me the lore and gave me anecdote's of each specific men's cut and their difference from each epoch of time. Frankie is well rounded. She knows her styles for men and it is no surprise that she will be one of the most thought out barber-ella's of this town. These days everything blends. But the fact that she knew exactly what she was talking about on top of executing the best haircut I have had in nearly 15 years!! Was simply phenomenal! Thank you White Oak Barber Shop. No appointments available. Have been to this place a few times because it's nearby, and had a couple of unobjectionable experiences. On this particular visit, the computer that hosts the wait list said there were two people in front of me, so I selected a barber who had done a decent job before (though the average cut there isn't anything to write home about). Waited an hour and fifteen minutes, heard nothing from any of the staff, so I left. For those who just want a haircut, there are easier places to get it done. Got a silver tip badger brush for half of what you could get at "high end" stores like Art of Shaving. They even make their own shaving soaps. 10/10 would get hair cut here again. read more

I've been rocking the bowl cut my whole life, and so I decided to visit the white oak barber shop for a new do. I'm new in town, and I heard good things about it. Took a while to get seated because you can't make a reservation, but only because they were so busy! A sign that they must be good. Emili was very friendly and worked with me to get the style I wanted. I got a rockin fade cut now and it looks amazing! I was a little worried getting a new cut with a new stylist, but she did a fantastic job. Awesome place with a cool atmosphere as well. If you're in Chattanooga and need a cut, check these guy out!
