I hired them for a room addition remodel. Mason (William) fell through my garage ceiling the first day. After a week I had to let them go because the drywall job was so bad that they literally had pieces reversed because they cut them incorrectly, and then mudded over them instead of cutting a new piece. Mason was honest and took responsibility as his drywall person was new and apparently did not have the skills he proclaimed. Because he was honest and straightforward I decided to potentially use them for a smaller job in April 2025. However, when I received the estimate, it was high ($800 for a couple of drywall repair sections and a small area of baseboard) so I asked about a few things on it. I had also offered to use the matching paint I already had and was wondering if it was deducted from the list. Apparently, this was not well taken as I received a response of "I build in an extra charge in case there is anything unforeseen I run into"..."I think at this point in my career we are not a good fit, so I am pulling my estimate". This was a clear waste of my time, but it turned out well as the 2 estimates I received from other people were both for $500, and the team I hired had all materials included...and no one fell through my ceiling :) I think Mason is an honest person, which is very important, but his temperament is lacking, and his estimates seem to be more in line with professional contactor rates rather than those of a handyman. read more

We contracted with Will and his crew at White Pickett Fences in November of 22 to build a 20 x 16 ft deck. From day one he handled himself as a professional from communicating his arrival times as scheduled to promptly providing a fair and detailed estimate of the scope of work. Once the deal had been struck he showed up daily, working full days and even a weekend to ensure that the job done was completed in a timely manner. I also appreciated the fact that he was not juggling my job while bouncing back and forth between other clients. Our two week deck build received his full attention. In hindsight there are a few things that I would have been more adamant about requesting be done differently, most pressingly his substitution of structural/construction screws for the carriage bolts that were contracted to be used to secure the girders/beams to the support posts. I would have pushed harder for the use of carriage bolts if I had known then what I know now and will be reluctantly crawling under the deck and installing them in the future. In any event, White Pickett Fences built a 100% inspector approved structure which I hope will be a good, strong deck for many years to come. Overall, I am satisfied with the quality and final product that Will and his team have produced and would consider White Pickett Fences on a future project. read more
