I am 77 years old and have been cared for by many good nurses, but never one that cared for me like I was a member of her family. I hope others will as lucky as I was to be discharged from the hospital by such a professional!

Its clear they never bothered to look into the case and just tell me the same thing over and over- your case is "resolved" Of course its not resolved and they are defaming me but they do not care. I have caught every supervisor in lies and they do not care. I figure this must be how inmates are treated when incarcerated. I received infusions at the Norris Cotton Cancer center and was absolutely appalled by the…read moreconditions. Nurses are not using sterile technique when accessing ports. On the day I was there my neighbor in the cubicle had a school nurse (seriously) with absolutely no experience working with cancer patients and ports. She touched everything in the room, computers, light switch, etc. and used the same gloves to begin touching the sterile materials and accessing the patients' port. It was horrific. The other patient was then asked to expose her port site in front of me (no privacy). She had a very high fever and began profusely vomiting inches away from me. The patient felt terrible for exposing me to whatever she had. Dartmouth staff couldn't care less and made no attempt to prevent infections in vulnerable patients both through exposure to other ill patients and exposure to their incompetent nursing staff regarding sterile port technique. Great place to go if your goal is death by sepsis.

I went from being treated disrespectfully at Norris to be treated with compassionate concern and respect at Chao. The hematology oncology doctors and nurses at NCCC are petty and passive-aggressive. It's past time they reconsider they're career choice. They seem to lack the empathy required of cancer health care professionals.

Somebody pointed out that they don't make enough effort for new patients to see primary care…read moredoctor. As I have just moved to the area, I have been trying to set up an appointment with primary care doctors over last 8 months (I actually want to visit a specialist that with my insurance I should be able to book without first visiting primary care doctor, but in this particular hospital they want you to have it). For a long time, they were saying they will have new opening over summer. Last time I called, the lady said she will check if there is primary care doctor available, came back 10 minutes later, and started to inquiry about all my symptoms in detail, check my history in their system (I was once in ER) and what I want to see a doctor for (fresh results indicating pancreatitis). Then she has put me on hold for another 10 minutes, and came back to tell me that unfortunately there is no primary care doctor available in the area, and she can put me on the wait list. Given that, I have an impression that this hospital has some type of DISCRIMINATING policy/strategy that SHOULD NOT BE LEGAL.

They gave me a resident. Ok I understand this person is learning but this person seemed to be more concerned with getting me out of there and heading on his vacation to Europe. Kid word of advice, "If you can't keep your mind on your job when you are 27 years old because you need a vacation perhaps this is not the right job for you." Very quick patient assessment, he missed parts of my body on his scan on my skin, was too concerned about documenting his findings, fought with me about the prescription the last experienced dermatologist gave me the last time, filled it, gave me the wrong prescription, gave me no instructions, forgot to have me pay for the skin tag removals and walked out of the room 2. I went to the front desk because I knew I had to pay for the cosmetic stuff, but they said, 'No you are OK" 3. 3. The billing department called me obsessively the following Monday (I had the work done on Friday) twice a day everyday till I called them back. They called me on my cell during work while I was at a client. Sorry kids not dealing with you. Word of advice to billing, "When you F up and don't collect send the patient a bill first. If they don't pay send them to collections then have collections bug the crap out of them. However, don't try to cover you own behind by unprofessionally calling literally one hour after the fact (I left at 4 PM on Friday, they started harassing me at 9 am on Monday)" Word of advice: Have the attending come in after the fact and check everything. Dartmouth you did a crappy job I would recommend avoiding the residents.
