After reading mostly all 5 star reviews about this restaurant we had some pretty high expectations but sadly we didn't have a very good experience here. First of all we really liked the atmosphere as we stepped in but for the most part it went downhill after. We ordered the Egg Breakfast ( Eggs, Hash browns & Sausage ) & the Catfish w Onion Rings. Nothing stood out but the Catfish was overcooked & pretty dry & the Rings were the same way. They were quite busy so the service was slow but our server did an adequate job under the circumstances. On the bright side the prices were more than fair. Will we go back, yes, likely at some point but not anytime soon. read more

Great place for lunch! We were staying at the Denton Ferry RV park and rode our bikes to the White Sands Cafe. The food was great and the people that worked there were friendly. Visited for breakfast recently. Small place but excellent service and food. We got right in but some had to wait because of reduced tables. It is well worth the wait. Best place we have been to in awhile. Worth the effort and time to visit Cotter. Prices were pretty much average as well. read more

Who ever is cooking knows what they were doing! Eggs were cooked perfectly, sausage gravy and biscuits were yum and hashbrowns cooked good and crisp. Bacon was thin and cooked up just crunchy enough and the ham slice was thick and cooked just enough with a little char on the outside edges. The pancake was a little thick for my liking, a thin (blueberry) pancake is hard to beat! But it was good too. Service, hostess, busser, coffee pourer and the person who brought the water ( like 5 people) were great from the get go! But...we had to ask for a 2nd(!) cup of coffee. Once we received our food...no more service from anyone. It was a little confusing but we will be back because the kitchen puts out good food! read more

I ordered the chicken fried steak... gross!!! It's pre frozen and more like a cafeteria patty. Like not real beef. The entire meal was just horrible. Seemed very institutionalized. My son had fried catfish. It was $23 for the two of us to have lunch which I thought was a bit expensive. read more

Let me start by saying I'm being very generous giving this place three stars, since it's really a 2.5. I ordered the catfish, and although it was very good all the sides were horrible. It looks what they might do well here is grill items like breakfast and lunch. I would avoided dinner here at all cost. If you're think about a hamburger and fries. My husband & I split an order of 2 eggs, hash browns & country fried steaks with a biscuit. We added one additional egg & extra gravy on the side. PERFECT! This is the best sausage & gravy we have ever had! The lady who makes it does not work Wednesday's. Heard their pies are very good so we ordered 3 different slices to take back to our cabin. Great hometown cafe & very friendly. Nearby is a great park to explore along the river with a swimming hole & rope to swing & release over the water. read more

I have been passing by Cotter on the highway for 25 years and never pulled into town before. I just had a wonderful breakfast of a very good Chicken Fried Steak, eggs cooked perfectly, hash browned potatoes and a big fluffy biscuit with delicious gravy. We always eat here before and after a fishing trip. Service and clientele are down home country. Pancakes are huge and fluffy and breakfast sausage much better than chain restaurants. We stopped by for a Sunday morning breakfast on our way to the North West Arkansas Airport in Bentonville. There were fifteen of us all heading home from a family reunion the day before. The atmosphere was very down home, simple and accommodating along with great tasting breakfasts. Our waitress Roslyn was very efficient managing separate and group checks, along with keeping our coffee cups filled including the Sunday morning after church regulars to wait on.
