Missed breakfast. Lunch was good. Burger was the best of three items. A little over cooked. Asked for Medium well. No local fish bit of a bummer. Local fried shrimp tasty. French fries weren't usual beach style. More like McD's. Reasonable prices. Solid service. Clean place.

This trip was on our bucket list because we had heard so many great things, but the reality did not live up to the brand's name. The Check-In Disaster Before booking, I contacted the resort to request an early check-in since we were driving from far out of town for just a one-night stay. I was told, "Rest assured, early check-in is available for a fee," which I gladly agreed to. We arrived on Saturday around 1:00 PM, and were given a key to the "last available room." When we walked into the room, there was a naked man inside. Shocked, we went straight back to the front desk. Instead of an apology, the clerk gave me an attitude and snapped that check-in wasn't until 4:00 PM. I explained that we had a pre-approved early check-in so we could change and enjoy the pool and beach, but she simply told us no rooms were available because they had given them to other guests first. Broken Promises & Poor Amenities While we were waiting at the resort restaurant to grab a bite to eat, a manager called to let us know a room was ready. To make up for the naked stranger incident, he promised us a free dinner. Unfortunately, that free dinner never happened--it was an empty promise. When we finally got into a room, it was sufficient, but the rest of the property was highly underwhelming: The Hotel Cleanliness: The entire property was very dirty. The bathrooms looked like they hadn't been deep-cleaned in ages. The Atmosphere & Drinks: The pools were overrun with kids who showed zero respect for older guests, and the drinks at the bar were sub-par. The EV Charger Situation: No one polices the EV charging stations. Despite clear signs stating "No Overnight Parking," people leave their cars parked there indefinitely, completely blocking anyone else from having the opportunity to charge their vehicles. Final Verdict We will never return to this location. Aside from our terrible customer service experience, South Padre Island is just too far of a drive from San Antonio for what you actually get. If you want a beach weekend, you are much better off driving to Galveston. You will get the exact same environment, but with far more options and better service.

You can tell it's not a major player in the local hospitality scene by the details. The kitchenette has aluminum foil under the burners. The fixtures are older. Our shower bar was broken. No telling how many people they've charged for that breakage. The parking is outside the door but the lights are so bright that I woke up at 1:05 and thought I'd overslept til 1 in the afternoon. One of the big tells was when we asked for more towels and the attendant followed us to the room to trade out, one for one, wet for dry towels. There were only a handful of tenants and peak tourist season is in full bloom. Overall, this place is adequate. It meets the sleep/shower needs. Don't expect the level of convenience you'd get from any lesser chain. Believe me, when you go back to work, you won't be bragging about where you stayed.

It does have a kitchenette BUT you'll need to bring your own pans, plates, utensils, etc. For us, it wasn't a big deal. Since we know that our stuff is clean to use from the start. Totally fine since there is a HEB across the street to get all the needed supplies and food for your stay! The room came with two full size beds, 1 bedroom and a pull out couch, it was pretty comfortable overall.

From the moment we checked into our room, there were multiple leaks coming from the ceiling while we checked in and the ceiling of the elevators, creating an unacceptable and uncomfortable environment. To make matters worse, both the shower and sink water smelled strongly of sewage, making basic hygiene unpleasant and concerning. No one was able to shower, brush their teeth or even drink water. We were patient and understanding, giving the hotel ample opportunity to address the issues. They sent a random maintenance man to come "clean the drains" and acted dismissive and bothered by our request. By 10:00 AM, after the problems persisted, we requested a room change. Instead of taking immediate action, we were repeatedly told someone would call us back with an update. Those calls never came. We were forced to continuously follow up ourselves just to get information. By 4pm, they FINALLY told us that our room would be ready within 15 minutes. The replacement room is also a disappointment. We paid extra for a larger room with a specific view and bathtubs, yet the room we were moved to is noticeably smaller and does not match what we originally purchased. We essentially paid a premium for accommodations we no longer have. The customer service throughout this experience has been shockingly poor. After finally arranging a room transfer, the front desk informed us we had one hour to vacate our original room. Then, with ten minutes still remaining before that deadline, we were threatened that the transfer would be canceled because we were "not moving quickly enough." The complete lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic courtesy was astounding. So we were allowed to wait all day for them to rectify the situation but we only had less than an hour at ANY given time to get out when it best suited them? Not to mention, the workers walked into our room without knocking and walked in on us changing and gathering our belongings which is a huge violation. What makes this even more disappointing is that our group has provided this property with multiple room bookings and approximately 10 guests during our stays. Despite being loyal customers and remaining respectful throughout this ordeal, we were treated as though our concerns were an inconvenience. Between the leaking ceilings, sewage-smelling water, unexplained extra charges at the pool bar, failure to communicate, downgrade in accommodations, and hostile customer service, this resort has demonstrated a complete disregard for guest satisfaction. We will not be returning, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property to anyone. There are far too many resorts that value their guests to spend your money at one that clearly does not. What's ironic is that this place has so much potential of being amazing. Most of the staff is great, but solely MANAGEMENT needs a refresher on what the hospitality business entails. Especially Imelda.

Lina Trevino, the Property manager told me they have cameras but she could not check them to see who took the information without permission from the General Manager, Veronica Galviz. I called and talked to the Assistant Manger Janeth Quintero, and she gave me the same runaround. Veronica Galviz is supposedly off until this next Friday but I can leave a message for her. These people are committing fraud and don't care about their customers. Look at the schedule and find out who was working. Look over the video footage on the security cameras. Lina Trevino assured me that she was the only one with access to the credit card information. But she doesn't know if she checked my wife in or not. On top of all of this our room stunk. Paint on the walls was bubbled up. It was old and out of date. Sand and moisture all over everything. We got locked out of our room once and had to get the combination refreshed on our door. There is barely any parking. There was a welcome basket on the table that had a melted old Hershey bar and some old out of date drinks. We didn't touch them. The rooms were disgusting. The TV quit working on day 2. Only one ceiling fan half way worked. We paid over $1000 for the time we were here and it was not worth it.
