As a new home owner, I don't have much experience with projects like this. Ryan was incredibly helpful, always happy to answer questions, and provided excellent guidance and advice. Every interaction with the team was friendly and professional. They were very flexible, accommodating, and thoughtful - which was very appreciated since my wife and I occupied the house throughout the project. Due to the estimated cost for the projects I was thinking about doing, we weren't able hire WhiteFace so I can't comment on their work. My review is for my communication/interaction with Ryan at WhiteFace. I contacted Ryan at WhiteFace to give me a bid on a couple projects. Ryan was always very responsive by replying quickly by both phone or email. Ryan was able to stop by last minute while my wife & I were up for a couple days and sent me a bid the following day. Ryan was also up-front that they were very busy and would have to work us in to their existing job schedule. For those of you who regularly deal with contractors, you know they are notorious for not returning calls/email in a timely manner or often never returning them at all. Ryan's great communication and being up-front about scheduling is a good indication WhiteFace is a very organized company. read more

Our house in Soda Springs (Serene Lakes) experienced a roof collapse during the heavy snow last Winter (2019). This required a major rebuild and redesign of a stronger deck, roof supports, roof and railings. The redesign was done by Wittels Engineering in Tahoe City .The local contractor who does most of the work up there was too busy to help and I found Whiteface on the internet. The project was completed and Whiteface does excellent work. Ryan Benty is a skilled contractor and uses skilled people. He does detailed estimates but sends general bills, so if you want detailed bills, you should ask for them. I try not to waste contractors time with that and I look at the bills in light of the bid and changes and extras that always happen and make my own decision as to reasonableness. My husband and I were looking to buy a house in Truckee and we decided to buy a fix it upper, and do a renovation loan that required us to find a contractor. Our original choice bailed out on use last minute and we found ourselves needing to find a new person within two days. We found Ryan by calling numbers right out of the phone book ...and he was AWESOME! He met us on a Saturday the day after we talked and out of the 3 contractors we had bid on the job, he was the only one that said "lets make this place look good!" And instead of telling us that it needed to be torn down (like the other contractors did) he started asking us what we wanted our house to look like. When we finally had the keys in hand we needed to move in right away and Ryan had it planned so well that him and his crew started the next day. Three weeks later we had new siding, a new roof, wood floor, carpet, repaired deck, and a house to live in!!! Ryan was great to work with, planned the project well, and our house turned out amazing! Ryan and his team at Whiteface did a kitchen remodel and a master bathroom remodel for us. The work was completed on time and according to the initial schedule that they provided (after we asked for it) with only minor adjustments along the way. The quality of service was excellent, his team was courteous, friendly, and professional. The workmanship was great, they took the time for the details and they got them right. We got three bids for this work, and Whiteface was competitive pricewise with the other two proposals. We're very satisfied with the results - love the updated kitchen and bathroom. Ryan and his team have done an amazing job on my kitchen and bathroom remodel. I have one bathroom left to be done but that will happen after the first of the year. As I picked out the various materials for the remodel, I was pleased to hear from the different vendors how trustworthy Ryan and his team are, easing concerns about hiring a contractor to take on, what to me, is a large project. Each subcontractor took the time necessary to ensure the job was done correctly and Ryan regularly checked the work being done. While I am just getting the house back in order I am sure I will come across things that will need touching up and/or fixing and I am totally confident that Ryan will ensure these items are corrected to my satisfaction. Ryan did a loft extension and updated our living room fireplace hearth/mantel and staircase earlier this year. Ryan was easy to work with and patient with our questions. The workmanship of his crew was very good; they did a really great job matching texture and the finish work on the wood trim was really great. Since the work was only for a portion of the house, Ryan's crew was really good about moving furniture and keeping things covered to minimize the dust, which we definitely appreciated. He also took the time to come up with a custom stain to match existing wood trim. Our only issue was that the project came in a bit over the originally budgeted amount (about 15%), even though it was a relatively small project with no surprises but I guess that's not bad for most remodel jobs. read more
