I told him the sign said to check in on either side. He said well I thought we took the sign down.?? I should've ripped the sign down and showed it to him. He just rubbed me the wrong way.

I've had one visit and the people were very friendly. The front desk and getting checked in was a very good experience and she was quite lovely. I felt I got good care although I felt I did need to advocate for myself on a few minor things. I didn't want them polishing my teeth before the hygienist had completed her scaling. It is not a good practice to polish teeth before all the plaque has been removed. They have quite a few staff members that do different things. They have two hygienist and then they have assistance that do the polishing. You can request having one person do the scaling and the polishing, but they can only accommodate that on certain days due to the lack of staffing?? So for my next visit, I will have one person do it all. They were quite accommodating. I think I'm scheduled with a different dentist for my next visit. I think I will see her and see how I like her. She is newer in her career, but I feel I might like to give her a shot. The jury is still out for me. I'll update in 6 months.

We were not notified of the business change. Throughout this experience, I never even got to see or meet the new dentist. When my wife and I went in for one of the two cleanings per year under our plan in the middle of June 2022, they did panoramic xrays and then got right into measuring gums and did a full mouth debridement (extremely uncomfortable). After having this done they stated my gums were at a 4 or 5 and I needed to come in 3-4 times per year in order to keep my gums from deteriorating. The prior dentist would tell me during each visit, "Everything looks good. Continue doing what you're doing." Needless to say, I was shocked at the sudden turn of my dental health. During the cleaning, the hygienist told me my insurance was one of the best out there and would be good to cover most, if not all the costs. I received the bill for our routine cleanings and was charged nearly $200. We are still working out the billing. There was no notice that extra services would be performed and therefore would present extra costs. I was expecting to have a routine cleaning covered by insurance and now they are upselling and upcharging people without notice. Be weary of this business as they seem like the type of business to find any possible way to get money out of you in the name of "highest standard of care."

When I found Birchwood (through reviews and their online site), they had a waiting list. On the list I went and only had to wait a few months. Located in a small strip mall, it's easy to miss, but very close to my home. Been there twice for x-rays and cleanings. Evan was my hygenists both times and he does an excellent job. I love the tv screen on the ceiling as they play netflix's Moving Art. The images are immersive and relaxing. So much so, I started playing it at home. It had been ages since a dentist had checked my teeth at my previous dentist office as he would not be in the office on a regular basis and you had to make a separate appointment from cleaning just to have him check your teeth for a few minutes. I've moved a lot and have been to many dentists. Dr. Weimer has the appropriate philosophy on dental work. He knows that the teeth we have are better than any dental replacement, and will last longer if we take care of them. He literally suggests not to get procedures early (fillings, crowns, etc). So thankful I found my dentist in Treasure Valley. I'll keep going every 6 months till I die with great teeth I didn't dump a fortune into

He was very efficient, very friendly, and let me know what was going to happen next during my cavity procedure. All around every staff and hygienist that I've interacted with have been top-notch would recommend this place.
