    Ellenburg Custom Trailers

I originally thought this was a great trailer at a great price so I left a great review but after 3…read moremonths of use, I needed to be honest & leave an informative review. I have found out certain things about the build on these Blazer Trailers, the light/thin steel used bends & the lack of other safety features that Federal Law requires. At first sight these trailers look extremely well-built & extremely sturdy but under close review & use, the steel used to make these trailer frames are too light & thin for the length of the trailer. The slide in ramps will come out the other end because the stoppers are not tall enough, which will cause them to bounce over the stopper & eventually fly out. The main safety issue is the PFC steel frame that will bend under normal rated use & they will not cover it under warranty. The reason why brands like Kaufman cost more is because the steel they use is heavy gauge & intern will not bend. You're better off spending an extra $1000 on a Kaufman as you're going to end up investing that much patching & reinforcing these trailers as I did. Other issues are, FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES reflective tape on the sides & rear, brakes on all axles, a breakaway box, ID marker lights on trailers over 80" wide & a license plate light, all this is 100% required by USDOT, you can & will be fined for this. They wanted to charge me $700 plus shipping to repair the bent steel on my 3 month old trailer. Luckily I found a reputable Trailer manufacture here in the Charlotte, NC area That added a 1/2"x4.5"x12' bridge on both sides along with loading jacks on each side. I would say unless Ellenburg Trailers goes to another manufacturer don't buy trailers from them! Blazer Trailer Company has to stop cutting corners on basic safety features that can cause a serious accident, Safety features that are required 100% by Federal Law! Before y'all come back with Deliberately Overloading, I transport regular vehicles under the 5k payload. Nothing commercial, I own a used car dealership and all I purchase are regular vehicles from the auctions. I have a list of vehicles I have purchased. I purchased the trailer to move vehicles back and forth from the mechanic shop but 99% are transported by the auction. As far as safety here is a quick video showing how NATM inspects trailers to make sure they conform to federal law. I'll post the complete federal regulations on brakes per axle on separate comment. https://youtu.be/-Mvpj5lrOW8 By Federal law, all US trailer manufacturers need to meet all Federal safety regulations in all states not just SC. Brakes and emergency breakaway box laws. https://www.rvia.org/system/files/media/file/Trailer%20Brake%20Requirements.pdf
