They subcontracted it ( which I think they do on most jobs) to 2 workers who only came on Sunday and only communication with the GC was via pictures and a translation app. They were incredibly inconsiderate and left trash everywhere. To the best of my knowledge the GC never came until the project was falling apart. The deck was missing joist brackets ( per code) , the cuts were all way off, wood was splintering in half making the stability very dangerous. And more to the point, my contract said build the deck the same as the old. They said they couldn't . Of course not, when you buy stringers for 6 steps and there were only 3 steps on the old deck. Ben went ballistic and swore at me when I tried to point these things out.This put the steps at the end of the platform. I have since hired someone else and they had no problem solving the problem by using stringers for 3 stairs. With a new GC, they noticed the previous 2 decks they built had the wrong nails and they did not pre-drill the holes. Hence wherever they secured the boards have severely buckled. My new rebuilt deck has no buckling, as every deck I have seen with trex. Some boards were coming loose because they did not hit all holes. I have pictures to back up everything in this review. In short, the workers were not skilled enough to do the job unsupervised and they were not supervised. A former worker told me they were paid very little. This says to me they got cheap unskilled people to do the work. My best advise is go else where

He's not going to add a bunch of surprises when the project is done. You are going to know what he's doing and what you're paying for every step of the way. He might even come under his bid, like he did with us. You know how you wish you could just have the great, honest, quality contractor you know you can trust to do a great job? Vaughn's your guy. Hire him and you'll keep him as your contractor forever. Or, hire him to fix the lousy job your "less expensive" contractor already finished.

To top it all off, their drivers like to brake check you when driving! I unfortunately got stuck behind one if their drivers pulling a trailer around 1 PM in Boulder on Canyon going through the shopping areas. They brake checked me because the dude driving pulled out in front of me at a 4 way stop. These guys are slimey, scummy, and dishonest.

I had a full remodel done and Brian led the renovation. When something comes up, he actually thinks what would be best for me and will contact me to make sure things are good. For example, I went with scrap granite for the countertops (small condo) but the two small pieces on one side of the kitchen did not look like it matched the sink-side countertop (even though it was from the same slab, you know - it's granite). He worked with Front Range Stone to get those two replaced. He makes sure I am making right decisions like the direction of the tiles and hardwood floors. Like he just really cares! And so do the others - the crew who installed the bamboo hardwood floors did a fantastic job and Carlos installed all the tiles and bathroom vanity. Even when I panic because the dishwasher is leaking after install he came out to check it out (turns out it's just old and the rubber isn't rubbery anymore so time to replace). He just cares. And that is fantastic when working with contractors.

He sends 500 word emails without a single punctuation mark and terrible word structure to the point where it becomes hard to look at him in the face when you see him. The quality of the work is subpar. It takes you actually looking at the quality and pointing out issues for them to argue with you why it is any issue only to eventually fix it anyways. Some items that were known issues for months never got fixed. Overall, if I could rate this no stars I would. I have a lot more work I am planning for the summer, Lookout will not get a chance to quote it

Actually, we got a…read morebroken contract and 2 weeks of wasted time looking for a contractor who could handle building a barn kit in the mountains. Christy was actually good to work with and presented us with an acceptable signed (by her) contract that we accepted in return. Then she showed up with her partner (?) for what we thought was a quick look at our property an to pick up our deposit. That's when the whole thing became untenable. Her partner (?) began by saying the contract was simply an estimate that could be cancelled at any time. He could say it a hundred times but that doesn't make it true. It is very much a signed contract that uses the word contract within it more than 35 times. He also announced many times that they weren't making any money off this job; that makes no difference to us as that's a problem within their company and it's cost estimating process. We just wanted a barn kit built with the least effect on our pocketbook. He also was very aggressive and would interrupt us when we would attempt to put forth a solution to one of his supposed problems, ie. too expensive and/or difficult to get equipment up here in the mountains. Our answer was to offer the use of our skid steer (frankly we didn't really want a stranger using our expensive machinery but we were attempting to mitigate his "problems"). In response to this supposed "difficulty of getting here" we cited the moving vans and equipment delivery we had recently employed. Also cited was the cost of a porta potty from town. First I offered our RV toilet then, in an email the following day I forwarded information from a local company that would charge only $250 for the time of the entire project. (Obviously I didn't want a bunch of workers using my rv toilet but again, we were attempting to solve a problem.) He was so rude that I finally had to tell him to stop interrupting me. Unfortunately, when I'm furious I get teary and that gave him the excuse that he needed after wasting our time for two more days before saying I was "too emotional" and they weren't going to continue. I even flat out asked him when he was here if they were pulling out of the job and he couldn't even be honest enough to say "yes" at that time. Two wasted days later he cited my email as, again, "emotional" although it was simply a reiteration of the solutions we had offered and the positive experience we had had previously of a mountain house build and that it was neccessary to think outside the box when working in the mountains. Frankly, I'm not sure they had legal grounds to cancel the contract but it keeps me from having to tell Christy that her partner cannot step foot on our property again. I'll gladly share the contract and email to anyone so they can make up their own minds. During the visit Christy stayed very business like but her partner (?) completely took control. He did her no favors for advancing the company she founded.
