I am 84 years old and have spent a lot of time in physical therapy. I finally found what I consider a real physical therapy service. Whiteside Physical Therapy is everything you want in a physical therapist. Each patient is assigned a therapist who stays with you the entire time you are there. At other therapy centers, I have been passed around to whoever was not busy. Sometimes that included the pickup boy and the receptionist. They are not familiar with you or the exercises you should be doing. My therapist at Whitestone is Danny, the owner, and he is by far the best therapist I have ever had. The atmosphere in the gym is very friendly and relaxed. There is usually just me and one or two other clients there at one time. The office personnel are great. I had great care and services here. The therapists are very professional. They schedule patients appropriately so there is not a wait and you can get started on your exercise regime. Erin was generally waiting on me when I arrivedPractice makes perfect. When I started I had no endurance and a boatload of pain especially for any lateral move to the broken bone. My fracture was very uncommon... naturally. A Tibial Plateau fracture. Usually obtained in a car accident where your knees are impacted in a crash or an injury sustained by athletes-like football players. By now those of you that know me should be laughing "hysterically. How did I manage this??? A simple slip in a puddle of water on my tile floor in the kitchen. Hooray! Anyhow slowly but surely I advanced and was able to perform the exercises required. I progressed a lot the weeks I was there. Danny would provide deep tissue massage to my knee as tolerated. That was next to last followed by a nice large ice pack. I appreciated the staff-everybody from receptionist to the therapists. All very professional and friendly! I just moved to Cedar Park recently and I was suffering from two trigger fingers on my right hand, and shoulder pain and wrist pain on my left. I didn't know where should I go, so did a research in yelp and trusted other patients reviews here about Whitestone Physical Therapy. I'm so glad I did because Danny and his staffs are awesome. Dr.Danny not only figured out all of my problems and had already solutions for them, but also he taught me how my body/joints/muscles work in that injured spots and then told me the root cause which made me feel more comfortable by knowing what's going on. After that he helped me to do all of his recommended exercises patiently and fixed my positions when I was doing them. I also saw other therapists were doing their job in their gym very professionally in a friendly atmosphere. He also gave me everything I need to keep up with my exercises. My orthopedic surgeon damaged my peroneal nerve during right knee replacement surgery causing me to have "drop foot". Talk about pain and devastation. Not only did I have to deal with my right knee healing, I could not lift my right foot up off the floor and it swung in circles when I tried to walk. I could not even get my foot into a shoe because my toes would curl under my foot. The pain from knee and drop foot was tremendous. I had a fantastic home health physical therapist (Debbie Downing with Capitol Home health) who helped with my initial disability with the drop foot and to help me exercise my right knee. After a few months with her I graduated to regular physical therapy at Whitestone Physical therapy in Cedar Park, Tx . (I believe they another office in Leander as well.) First of all let me tell you everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. I worked mainly with Dan and a little with Becky, both great, knowledgeable and attentive. Dan asked me about my goals and listened to my fears.  I was looking to gain strength and use of my right replaced knee and to see if any hope for my drop foot or if this drop foot was how I was meant to spend the rest of my life. Dan got me to relax and I felt I was in good hands. Dan was able to use a combination of physical therapy, massage and various exercises to help me. Dan always took time to explain how things worked and gave me home exercises to do so I could continue to help my drop foot and knee further. I eventually regained some usage in my drop foot where I could lift my foot off the floor even without using a brace!!! That was huge for me.  I still have some drop foot and wear a brace when going about daily business but its nothing like it was when I first started. I improved so much with the help I received from this facility. Dan, his staff are all hoping and praying the peroneal nerve continues to heal.  When it was time to leave the nest, Dan took time to explain how important it was that I continue to exercise & what I should work on at home to prevent issues in the future and to continue improving my mobility.  Dan & Becky always provided copies of exercises for me to help me remember how to do them. I cannot tell you how much Dan and his staff at Whitestone meant to me and for all the help and improvement I got. It was truly miraculous to me. July 2020 UPDATE: I returned to Whitestone Physical Therapy for treatment of a significant shoulder injury this month and Danny saved me from surgery again! When I started treatment 3 weeks ago, I was unable to raise my arm, reach behind my back or lift anything heavier than 2-3 pounds without very sharp pain. Danny's treatment relieved my pain and most importantly, my range of motion and strength returned. Whitestone PT staff sanitize their hands constantly, sanitize every surface of all equipment before and after every patient, keep their masks on and require everyone to wear masks and hand wash. Danny's facility is sparkling clean and organized. Danny is patient, compassionate, informative, extremely skilled and intelligent and he has a wonderful sense of humor. I was in a pretty bad car accident recently that required surgery on my wrist. I broke 4 bones in my wrist so physical therapy was necessary for recovery. Since I've never broken a bone before, I was super terrified to begin PT. I did my research and stumbled upon Danny and his crew at Whitestone and boy am I glad that I did! I adore all of the staff here! They are all so nice and friendly. They remember you like you're family. I actually in a crazy way look forward to coming in for PT. The first time I went to see them I was in a lot of pain and after a month I have no pain, they made sure I was pain free and that I have everything I need to keep up with my exercises. I came with a rib injury that bothered me a lot for four months. Danny was through in identifying the problem to focus treatment. Within a few weeks of therapy, and implementing exercises at home prescribed, the chronic pain is gone. I would like to give a five-star review to Whitestone Physical therapy in Cedar Park, Texas. I have had some great PT in the past due to hand surgery and lower back surgery and thought I have had some of the best, but my experience with Tyler Althof and the receptionist Monica, have topped all of those!!! I could write a book about the experiences I have had with up and down backward and forward advances with my right knee and leg. I was unable to walk several times after over exercising in the pool, pulling a hamstring, then to find out from an MRI that I have insufficiency fractures with the tibia and meniscus period no wonder I was having such difficulty, but each time Tyler strengthened me and I walked out of there feeling motivated to do my exercises at home and Lord and praise them constantly with them being unaware I was doing that!!! Tyler was patient and individualized my therapy to the point that he showed pictures, described what was actually happening and giving me the exact exercises to enable me to actually walk and feel hardly any pain period it was my undoing that I would get into the pool at my place of residence and over exercise and worsen it each time. He finally realized I was making things worse by doing that and advised me to just be walking in the pool, only. he is so knowledgeable and caring at his age, but thank God for being raised in a coaching family and he approached the therapy as my coach!! I felt like I was in training to better my health and I am a 71-year-old retired female educator and boy, do I appreciate good teaching!!! You will not go wrong by researching this place and I can see why it continues to get excellent reviews. That is what I did before I even chose a place for my wellness I thank God everyday I found this place and found Tyler Althof!!! I recently used Whitestone for the first time and I was really pleased. Danny is great, he spent a lot of time talking with me about my pain and always seemed very concerned with how I was feeling and my progress. I brought an injury to Danny that was not one of the run-of-the-mill problems. He took his time to fully understand and work to isolate the issue. We went through some of his books that mapped muscle structures because it was that difficult to figure out where to focus treatment. After a couple sessions, he knew what to do and he was a huge help to get my condition on the path to recovery. I had a bilateral knee replacement last summer. These people took me from the "Why did I do this stage?" to the "Look what I can do" stage. The therapists made me focus, which is not my strong point. I'm now walking my dog for miles a week, working for hours weekly in my flower beds, and recently took a 2 mile walk on a natural trail in a park I visited. I think with time I'll exceed that easily. The dog has already figured out that I can move faster, and is walking much faster than he did previously. read more
