You need rehab? Go to these guys…read more One year after undergoing two knee replacement surgeries and I've spent the morning enjoying a hike in Spicewood Valley Trail. This would not have happened without the care, education, and attention given to me by Round Rock Rehab before and after surgery. My appointments with Matt began several weeks before surgery, building up strength in preparation--and if your surgeon hasn't recommended doing this, ask them about it. He spent a lot of time with me during our appointments and helped me to understand why and how I should be continuing to train in between our sessions. After the surgery, we picked up right where we left off -- and it felt like I was able to do more, more quickly, because of that prep time. Matt very patiently walked me through not just an escalating set of strength exercises but a wide variety of exercises that built up and supported full-body strength development and health. If I reached a plateau, he worked me to find a path forward that got me gaining strength again. If I had experienced irritation or pushed myself too far, he sorted me right out with rest and a mini-treatment plan. No matter where I was in my recovery cycle, he was right there with me. And if Matt was out for a time, I got the same high-quality support from Brad and Michelle. ...and the entire team of assistants! Mike and Serena and...well, just everyone made me feel like I wasn't just someone coming in...I was part of an extended family where everyone's purpose was to help me recover. Once my sessions were complete, I was sent off with a plan--and tons of information--for how to continue getting stronger.  I can't say enough about this team. Eddie was great at establishing rapport with his clients and motivating them to work hard. I regularly cracked up listening to him giving his young clients a hard time in a friendly way and he did the same for me a few times too even though I'm in my 40s. I always felt, intuitively, that this is the type of therapy I needed but I didn't know it actually existed, had a name and was practiced at an actual location. Well, it was meant to be. I needed something and fast and this place had the soonest appointment. I was assigned Victor G and it was honestly meant to be. He is very strong, intuitive, checks in and talks you through the entire process and what's going to happen. I appreciate that because I don't have to worry something will be sprung on me without warning. The therapy: you just need someone to push really hard where it hurts. That's exactly what I always wanted- someone to press on my spine or hip or whatever until the pain went away. Well, lo and behold, this is EXACTLY what they do. And it works. This is *not* traditional massage so don't go in expecting that. It's very targeted and done fully clothed. Depending on your needs, you could spend 2 hours just on 1 leg. This is the level of therapy they get to. I can't tell you enough how much you need to try this, especially if you're like me and feel like you've exhausted all options and are close to feeling hopeless and giving up. In 1 session pain I had for 6 months was gone. In 2 things were so loose and working the right way that I felt muscles I haven't felt in years. I absolutely see how people have said they've helped them avoid unnecessary surgery. I wish I had found this place 20 years ago but at least I found it now. Just try it.

In 2023 my mother was there because she was dying from pancreatic cancer…read more Two days before she died, she was in her bed groaning and curling her knees up in pain and moaning in pain tossing in pain. Her CNA was down the adjoining hallway, I rushed to him and told him what she was going through. The CNA told me she already had her medication. Meanwhile, her Dr. had left instructions to give her medication immediately should she need it for acute pain. I tried to explain that she was in acute pain and needed it now not hours from now. He did nothing. I literally had to leave my mother in the room by herself because I couldn't handle watching and hearing her in such agony. I was crying at this time and other residents were in the hallway watching all this unfold. Once the CNA finished with that hallway he finally came to my mom's hallway and since my mom's room was the second room down and not too far out of his way, he decided he would go check on her. It was at that time when he gave her the extra medicine that her Dr. said she was supposed to have when her pain was not relieved by what she was already getting. I started yelling at the CNA and the head nurse made me leave the premises. I couldn't go back to see my mom until I was cleared by the head administrator of St. Gabriel's. While I was there with my mom she told me that the nurses were a lot nicer to her when I was there with her. There was one CNA that I actually had removed from working down my mom's hallway. She didn't get fired, just moved sent on to another patient that she could be rough with when changing sheets and bathing and feeding. Most of the CNA's don't respect the families concerns and definitely take advantage of the power they have over the patients.

Our loved one was here on hospice. Pain meds were NOT consistently given to him on time (despite…read moreus being there and pleading with facility nurses). Our loved one suffered excruciating pain needlessly. Hospice is supposed to mean comfort care. The patient has had all other meds stopped and are given pain meds so that they can pass peacefully. Pain management is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT. If pain meds are not given according to the Hospice schedule by facility nurses, the patient suffers needlessly before they die. Shame on you for not treating imminently dying patients with more urgency and care. Don't send your loved one onto Hospice here.
