We visited Morgan's yesterday for the second time this summer. It's a great meeting spot for friends that live in Cincinnati and Indianapolis. Our first visit was on a Thursday and the second was on a Sunday. There was a big difference in the amount of people when going during the week versus the weekend. I would highly suggest a weekday visit if you would prefer less people. After a brief safety talk, you grab a life vest, paddle, and boat and you are off! We did kayaking on both of our visits, but saw a lot of people out on canoes and rafts. It is about a 7 mile trip and both times it took us about 3 hours doing a relaxing trip down the river with minimal paddling and a lot of floating. We packed a picnic lunch and pulled our kayaks out on a shady spot and ate lunch. This is not a technically different kayaking route. There are a few sections that are rocky, have some tiny rapids, or tree roots that you need to navigate, but all in all, it is a beginner level trip perfect for the novice and fun for all. The equipment is good, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The price is also good for a budget activity ~$30 per person! Let's talk about COVID-19 precautions: Morgan's takes this seriously! They are by reservation only and have designated checkin times. For our weekend checkin when it was busy, a man greeted us when walked up and directed us to an empty table to fill out our group's waiver. Once done, we took to a table with one staff member to checkin. All of this was outside. During the week, this was done in the building, but we were the only group. There are social distance markers on the ground, limit to 3 people per the changing room/restroom, social distance on the bus to bring you back, and all staff wore masks. The first time I went was for my dad's 50th birthday with about an 11 person party. We arrive that day and the bus for our trip runs over an hour late to take us to the start point when they did there was a soccer tournament going on at the drop off point so we all had to drag our kayaks a good distance across multiple soccer field areas to start our trip. When we talked to the staff about our experience they told us the owner would reach out to us then he didn't and we called him asking him to give us a call then he still didn't. Hoping that was just a bad day for them I decided to try this place one more time with a smaller group of me, my boyfriend and my dog. During our trip our canoe flipped about .25 miles from end of the trip when my boyfriend moved to grab something out of the bag we brought. Once we flipped we tried flipping the canoe back over but their canoes don't have plugs to let the water held in the boat back out so the boat started to sink which we were holding onto to help us float in heavy current water that was about 15 ft deep. We were saved by people who don't work for the company who were fishing off to the side after about 8 minutes of us floating down the river. They thankfully had kayaks to come save us and our dog. After we were recused they attempted calling tippecanoe multiple times with no answer so they kayaked to the end to finally get a worker to help rescue us. As the staff got us to the landing area they were immediately only concerned about their money. Absolutely not their traumatized customers who lost all their personal belongings and almost so much more than that. I highly recommend if you care for your safety to not do business here as they have zero staff along the river to ensure you don't drown in the very possible situation like Green Acres and many other local Kayaking places do. You can book your reservations online however we decided to pay up at the desk due to the weather. Didn't know if it was going to rain but it turned out to be a gorgeous day. First it is required to sign a waiver then you check in. There are several options. You can choose between the 2,3,6 or 8.5 mile trek. You can rent tandem kayak, single kayak or canoe. We opted for the tandem kayak $86.00 for the both of us and we did the 6 mile round trip. You pick your life jacket, wait for your name to be called out and you take a bus. From there they will drop you off depending on what mile marker you chose. The staff makes sure to explain where to not go and when you have to be back. Make sure you are back by 7:00 pm. Once you get to the river you pick your paddle and kayak/canoe and off you go. You may hit some rough shallow spots but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Make sure to pack a small cooler for your drinks. Stay hydrated. We also kayaked to Little Miami Brewing and had a couple of libations. That was fun! Overall the whole experience was great and I had a blast. Coming back the staff was super friendly, helpful and laid back. I would definitely come back. This place rocks.

I highly recommend this as an activity for families with kids of all ages and I think couples and groups of friends would enjoy it too. The waters were manageable and fun to maneuver and we stopped along the river banks to picnic. When we returned their were complimentary ice cream sandwiches waiting for us. I can tell that the owner puts a lot of love into his business and genuinely cares that we have a good experience. Wear water shoes and sun protection and pack a cooler with drinks and snacks. The canoes and kayaks were in great shape and you can tell they have been cleaned. The staff was helpful and interact great with children. We went on a 7 mile trip and it was fantastic. The river was clean and not difficult to navigate. We saw alot of turtles, birds, fish, and other wildlife. The whole adventure was peaceful and relaxing. I am looking forward to trying their other locations.

Check-In Process The woman working the front desk (I believe her name was Cali) was kind and did her best to help us. This review is not about her. The check-in system, however, was incredibly inefficient. Every camper had to come to the desk individually, Cali had to look up their waiver, and they then had to have their name written down by hand. Checking in our group of 50 campers took approximately 35-40 minutes. As a camp, we take trips to many local attractions that require waivers, and we've never had a check-in process take more than about 10 minutes. This system felt unnecessarily slow and completely unprepared for groups. 2. Communication Before our visit, we clearly communicated that we needed to leave by 2:30 p.m. to return to camp for dismissal and that we were looking for roughly a 1.5-hour boat ride. After finally checking in, we were put on a shuttle bus for nearly 20 minutes. During the ride, I asked the driver how long the boat trip would be back to our starting point. She told us it was a three-hour trip. At that point, it was obvious there was no way we'd make it back in time. We had to turn around, ride the bus back, wait while boats were rearranged, and then be transported to another launch point. In total, we arrived around 1:10 p.m. but didn't get onto the water until approximately 3:30 p.m.--over two hours spent waiting with 50 campers in 90-degree heat. We ultimately had to notify parents that camp dismissal would be delayed by about an hour. 3. Customer Service This section is directed specifically at the owner, Andy. The employees we interacted with--the front desk staff, the people helping with the boats, and the bus driver--were all friendly and helpful. They were not the problem. After explaining what had happened, we respectfully requested a 50% refund on our $500+ reservation since a large portion of our day had been spent waiting because of issues that were outside of our control. Rather than showing any understanding or attempting to work with us, Andy was hostile and dismissive. Judging by other reviews mentioning similar interactions, this unfortunately does not appear to be an isolated incident. Overall The boating itself was fun, and the campers enjoyed the time they actually spent on the water. Unfortunately, everything surrounding that experience overshadowed it. Between the inefficient check-in process, the poor communication about scheduling, and the owner's response when we raised legitimate concerns, this ended up being the worst field trip we've had in over five years of running our camp. I would not recommend this location for large groups, and we will not be returning.

The water is murky, like you would expect, and the sand is really rough and gritty, again like you would expect for a lake, but it's not slimy. The bathrooms are brand new. There is a ton of green space and plenty of room to spread out from other families. There are picnic shelters and grills. Huge parking lot! Even on the busiest summer holidays, I have never struggled to find parking. There is a really nice fenced in dog area, as well as as a dog section of the beach. If it was closer, we would probably be there a lot this summer as it's a great way to cool down.

Now, I am not sure if this was an opportunistic business or if they are associated with each other, but a little over half way, there is an oasis, set up with a food vendor, shade and misting fans. Whoever figured this out was a genius...because it is a Godsend. Overall, a very enjoyable trip. The kayaks, though, are a molded sit on and the back rest does get a little uncomfortable...especially for an old dude. The weather was great, the burgers were wonderful (probably because we were so hungry) and the entire crew was great to deal with.

We carried our own rented kayaks to the water. We were told we weren't moving fast enough to get on the water. ( We had 2 12yo children with us, one experienced, one not). There are no signs telling you where you are landing, so we actually ended our trip halfway through without realizing it. My friends brought their own kayaks and had trouble picking them up at the end point. The drop in the water charge was affordable but for the trouble picking the boats up, they were disappointed. The day we went there were a LOT of people on the river, add in the groups from Morgan's and it was almost impassable at points. Go on a week day, I would hope it might be better.

A van shuttles you and your canoe/kayak to a point upriver and helps you get started. Then you paddle (or not, when the river is flowing good, like it was for us) downstream to the office. In addition, they refunded the cost of my canoe. I appreciate the customer service! * This will be the last time I give any money to this business. After being a faithful customer for at least 10 years (probably much longer as we never went to the other business on the river) this visit was not worth the money I paid. We were given a broken paddle, that we did not realize was broken until the drop off location. Per their documentation they will charge you for a broken or missing paddle, so we opted to just take one and gave the other back to the driver as they didn't have an extra to give us. It wasn't so bad until very close to the exit and we did flip, loosing shoes and many other things. Flipping is a known hazard with one or two paddles, but my complaint is the customer service. In the past, there have always been staff ready to pull you in as you approach the exit. Not this time! This time, my son was waiting to pull us in as the staff meandered their way down the hill. One blonde gentlemen was reading something off his phone and literally never put it down until I said "can you put down the phone and help pull us in!" He was rude and told me to go back and get my one paddle out off the canoe (with his phone still in hand and me carrying bags and without shoes because they washed down the river). One very helpful staff member said he would grab it for me and he did. When I returned to get my deposit back, they didn't offer any type of compensation for the ONE paddle and really didn't seem to care about their staff and the poor service (again, one out of 3 or 4 staff was very helpful and extremely polite).
