We found this little gem through Living Social and recently stayed with them for a week. Our cabin was small but cozy and the campground overall was amazing! There are multiple fire pits located all over the camp and there are activities like horseback riding, paintball, and a rope course to keep you busy too. Everyone was friendly and helpful with local shopping and dining recommendations as well. The best part of the whole trip was the whitewater rafting! We actually went twice during our stay and had a blast. Make sure to ask for Stan the Man as your rafting guide if you're not too nervous, and you're guaranteed to have the time of your life! The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is because I don't think our cabin was quite done with construction. It wasn't painted like the others and there was a huge gap under the door we had to plug up with a towel to keep the bugs out. There was wood and metal lath still under our porch too. Other than that, we had an amazing time and will definitely be returning in the future! read more

We were looking to 'unplug' for a short time and booked a 4 night stay at Whitewater Express. This place is knee-deep in the woods and mountains; the area is truly beautiful. We were extremely happy with the courteousness of the staff all around the property! Check-in was a breeze and they had scheduled us to white-water raft twice (which we wanted), horseback ride, and mountain bike. They way they had scheduled everything was perfect! Gave us plenty of time to rest and relax, sight-see, and shop, with the adrenaline adventures in between. Now... about our cabin. We were so blessed to have gotten a deluxe cabin (Ranger's cabin) which was amazing! It was gorgeous, comfortable, and we felt like we had our own slice of heaven in the mountains. We were also lucky to have satellite TV (yes, we wanted to unplug, but we were extremely pleased that we could watch the hurricane details on the news of what was going on at home). The beds and furniture were comfortable, and to top it off, every night we had an awesome fire in the fireplace (thanks to the outpost for selling firewood and firestarter). The best part of the trip was the rafting. There are a lot of rafting companies in the area, but it was so convenient to just walk up to the outpost, check-in for rafting, and be bussed to the starting area. They also pick you up and bring you back. We rafted twice, once with Robert, and once with Abby. Though they were the same part of the river for each trip, the experiences were so different. Both absolutely wonderful! If you want a calm ride, let your guide know. If you want it wild, let your guide know. Our guides were absolutely fantastic and made the experience incredibly memorable. Can't wait to go again! Overall experience - 5 stars. The cabins are awesome. The staff here is amazing. The rafting is super fun. All we have talked about is that we can't wait to go back. There are so many cabin rentals not far from the Ocoee River - but we will just turn our head, because we're definitely going to be repeat customers of Whitewater Express. read more

This is the second time we stayed at Whitewater Express - Ocoee Camp. Loved it both times. The cabins are perfect for a few nights of rustic living with a side of home. The cabins have a nice size bed, small refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and just enough kitchen items to use for a long weekend. The shower in the bathroom is kind of small but that's completely understandable for a cabin. For "camping" I prefer a private bathroom and shower so there are no complaints here. Our cabin had its own fire pit but there are many fire pits on the enormous property if you prefer to socialize with a larger group. The area we were in, Wolf Camp was quiet the majority of the time we were there so it was only us by the fire every night - romantic and comfy. WWE offers a variety of activities such as horseback riding, tree top ropes, paintball, mountain bike riding and of course white water rafting down the Ocoee River! The first time we visited, we road horses, most recently we did the tree top ropes and both times we rafted. We had great guides, Robert and Stan, that made our experiences extra fun. The staff at WWE is also exceptional. From the moment we checked in to when we left they were more than accommodating. We even met the couple that cleans the cabins and they helped us design a path for our morning hike and told us about a few areas that aren't on the map. They were so sweet. It is so apparent that everyone working for WWE is passionate about making the experience awesome for their guests. The location of Copperhill, is so close to both Georgia and North Carolina. We spent a lot of time in Blue Ridge, GA for dinners and shopping. Such a perfect little mountain town with delicious food, affordable gift shops and the most friendly people. We love everything about WWE and the surrounding area and are planning future trips, If you visit, you will love it too! read more

Overall I would say this trip was relatively pleasant. The River seemed crowded the day that we went but it wasn't too bad. Our guide was pretty professional for the most part. I'll chalk up some of the "conversation" to the culture of river guides. This was a good trip altogether. We got a chance to bond with family during a team building exercise. They are definitely a well oiled machine and have this whole process down to a "t". This was evident during the check-in process. We were able to turn in keys and they were very informative. After your white water adventure, make sure to check out their zip lining course to dry off. Make sure to check them out and have a great time. read more

We were looking for some exciting things to do while we were on a week long getaway in Blue Ridge GA and I happened across a Whitewater rafting experience with Whitewater Express on Groupon. Extremely easy to set up with a phone call and a great outpost! So many things to do. Plus only a 30 minute drive from our cabin in Georgia. Our guide was Holly whom I strongly recommend you ask for! Yesterday was the third time I had gone down the river with White Water Express and I've had a BLAST each time, but yesterday was the BEST!! We went for my brother's 37th birthday and he had a blast! Lucas was our guide and of all the guides I've had, he was by far the best. Kept us safe, gave great instruction and we had so much fun!! Great sense of humor and gave us the best possible experience out there. Would love to go again, but only with Lucas! I wish we could relive our time on the river. The only thing was my brother is hard of hearing so he missed half of the instructions! Haha But despite that, we had SUCH a wonderful time and we'll be talking about this for years. I have been rafting on the Ocoee twice before today. The first two times were kind of boring and went by fast and honestly they were not fun at all. Today was my best rafting experience to date! I went with a group of 4 and we all used a Groupon. The other two in our group were super cool too, luckily we got 2 more adults instead of 2 kids (there was a large group of kids there). Garrett was our guide and he was very knowledgable, laid back and fun. I had a blast today and he made sure we all had a fun time. The only complaint I have was the bus driver. He literally stopped the bus turned off the ignition and yelled at some kids to keep their hands and paddles in the bus. I understand it was a safety issue but it could have been handled differently. On top of that he had his hand out the window half the time on the way down, for kids it's money see money do. Then when we were returning he kinds of sped up the mountain and a couple people had to ask him to slow down. Besides that the trip was great and super enjoyable. I used a Living Social deal to visit Whitewater Express. Our deal was for two nights plus rafting for two and horseback riding for two. We opted for a weekend in October and were assigned cabin 2. The cabin was cute with a large front porch. Inside, there was an adequately-sized bed for two (good thing I brought extra blankets and pillows from home), two armchairs, a small table with a lamp (missing a lightbulb) and a long counter. There was a fridge (which was not cleaned out before we arrived and contained a previous visitor's cheese) and tv/dvd player and a microwave. The bathroom was adequate. I was disappointed that we could not park right in front of or behind our cabin, but literally had to walk through the woods, jumping over roots, branches and felled trees to get to our cabin from the road. Our whitewater rafting excursion was great fun. Our guide, Jessica, was knowledgeable and we enjoyed that part of our trip. The horseback riding trip wasn't so wonderful; when my horse wandered off to the left, the male guide yelled at me several times to turn left and when I finally did what he asked the horse slipped and I almost fell off! When another person who was riding behind me asked why he told me to turn left, he said, "Oh...I meant right. It's been a long day and I get those confused." Seriously? Even though we paid for two nights, we ended up fleeing from this place early. When we arrived on Friday afternoon, all was quiet and serene. Friday night as we were settling down to watch a DVD, we heard roaring engines outside. It turns out that they were school buses loaded with what seemed like hundreds of teenagers on some sort of Christian retreat. We couldn't hear the DVD no matter how loud we turned it up (the walls of the cabin are partially made of screening) because of screaming teenagers, so we just sat in bed and talked. The teens were accompanied by some kind of rock band that we could hear quite clearly. They were running around screaming half the night and one even entered our cabin. We got very little sleep because they were up and about at around 6:30 am. So, we decided to raft and ride horses and then leave Saturday evening and make the six-hour drive home instead of staying one more minute there. When we turned in our keys and told them we were leaving because it was far too loud, the staff said, "Oh, yeah. Sorry about that." Of course, I don't expect a bunch of teenagers to be quiet on their fun weekend, but I feel that we should have been informed that the group would be there so we could make an informed decision about going at all. read more

Overall, we had an awesome time! Our guide was Ross and he was great, funny, and energetic. He made the ride that much more fun! We loved the fast rapids and the (intentional) flip was one of the thrilling parts. Because we purchased the tickets on groupon, it was worth the price ($25 per person). But if I would've paid full price , I think this review would read a bit different . The description (on both the website and groupon) says it's a 3 hour trip but what they do not specify is that your actually on a bus for 45 min, in the water for 45 min to an hour (not long enough for adrenaline junkies), and 45 min back. It felt as if if we were in and out of the water and the longest part of the trip was being on a bus. Other than that, this is a great family / friends adventure. read more

We had a great time here. Best part was the white water rafting. We had Toast as our guide. He did some cool parkour moves off the rocks back into the raft. Also worked hard to flip the boat for us so we could take a swim. The log cabin we stayed in was small and didn't have AC but the fans kept us cool and we had one of the best nights sleep we had in a while. We also elected to do the ropes course. It was kind of short and should have had a zip line but Tyler kept it fun. All the staff was very friendly. Would come back. read more

Robert, our guide was GREAT! However, I can't say the same for the management. We purchased tickets through Groupon and thought we bought the Upper Section. We prepaid weeks in advance and were at the Outpost on time. They confirmed our check-in and a few minutes later, one of their people called our name and confirmed we were to take the Upper trip. We were then assigned a specific bus and told our guide's name, who would be waiting for us at the put-in location. The Middle section rafters were dropped off and the rest shuttled to the Upper section, where everyone but our group of 6 had a guide waiting. The bus driver apologized and said she didn't know what was going on, but had to take us back to the Outpost where management would take care of things. Back at the Outpost, were told we had "paid for the Middle and can take the 4:30 trip (2 hours later)" or well, nothing. When we tried to get on-line to find our receipt, we ha not reception and even when we explained that we were told to get on that specific bus, the reply was "you can take middle section or not"....Maybe we did pay only for the Middle, but how the heck does a company treat their customers like this? Be aware on what trip you book and ask 100 times which bus to get on... read more
