It was either ride the dang coaster, or irritate the people who set up the trip, so I went. Holy cats! Alpine coasters are super fun! You kind of feel like you're going to fly off the tracks during the ride, but you won't. It seems safe enough, and the ride goes by so fast (it's definitely less than 10 minutes). Before you know it, you're done and wish you could go again. (I didn't, but I'm sure kids would.) You can control the speed, which is nice. At one point, I was feeling wild and crazy, and let it fly and zipped around the track at full speed. I visited with a small group on a weekday, and there was zero wait to start riding. The attractions feel a bit outdated and could definitely use better maintenance, especially considering the amount of people they get every day. The best part was the laser tag -- everything else was pretty underwhelming. The 4D simulator was only partially working, and the glasses felt cheap. The earthquake experience was disappointing... my car on a straight road moves more than that. Plan to go with plenty of time, because between everything, time flies and you'll easily spend at least three hours inside. If you're thinking about going after 6 pm, I'd recommend leaving it for another day and going earlier. And if you're choosing between this attraction and another one... there's really not much to think about.

We chose Dark Castle because my son likes skeletons, but it ended up being a little overwhelming for him. Basically, they strap you into a chair, you have a laser blaster and 3D glasses, and you fire at all of the stuff leaping out at you from the screen. There were definitely some jump scares that startled everyone. If you get too scared, you can perform a gesture to the attendant to stop your chair from moving or even stop the ride entirely, which I thought was nice. I thought the ride was a lot of fun, personally, but my son was pretty scared, as mentioned before. Overall, I'd definitely do this again as an adult, but I'd be wary of taking my young kids with me.
