Happy memories, all those kids are now grown and moved on to start their lives. This park was named after the founder of Tehachapi. It has the prettiest, tallest shade trees around. It has over 5 acres of grass, there is picnic tables, BBQ's, restrooms and a gazebo in the center of the park. You can rent the gazebo for $75.00 and a security deposit of $75.00. I have been to many parties in the park and the gazebo is really nice to set the food and gifts in. I personally know a couple people who were married in it. You can even rent out the full park for an event for $500 a day with a $1500 deposit. The playground is newly renovated and you always see happy kids running around. I have been here on multiple occasions and have seen kids in the late teens and young adults hanging out near the restrooms. They are definitely up to no good, We have seen small kids at the park themselves, I don't recommend that. This may be a small town but there is a drug problem and some of the people like to hang out here. So as long as the kids are supervised this is a nice place to spend some time. Many events are held here, Tehachapi Mountain festival, Tehachapi Old-timers Reunion, music in the park and also movies in the park. While you're walking the trail you will see plenty of wildlife. It's getting warmer so the snakes will be coming out, so always keep an eye out. There are two dog parks here, I don't frequent them very often. I prefer just to take the dog for a walk. Movies in the park is starting soon. Always fun when you have small kids. There are all the typical awesome things you'd find in a park including kids playgrounds and swings. All of these are new and of a quality structure. But what really stands out are the cool extra features like filtered water bottle fillers, exercise equipment, and a Bike Pump Track. If you don't know what a Pump Track is it's a place to practice your mountain biking skills. Oh Tehachapi, you really know your audience! Looking at this park you can tell there was a lot of thought and consideration that went into renovating it. It's the little things that count in life and in parks too!

We have always had great interactions with Tehachapi Parks and Rec. They have a great website you can log onto and you will see all the new activities that are coming out. They have youth and adult sports and fitness classes, something for all ages. My son used to play baseball through here and my daughter played basketball. We even did tiny tots when my son was a baby. The front desk people are super nice and helpful. Some annual events that they put on for the community are: Brite Lake Fishing Derby Concerts in the park Easter Egg Hunt Memorial Day Ceremony Movies in the park Tehachapi Old timers Reunion Hot chocolate turkey trot 5k run Christmas bazaar That's just some of the awesome events that the Parks and Rec put on each year. I have been to a few birthday parties over the years and it's a great space. Large area for tables, bathroom and a kitchen area, always clean when I am in there. Located in the back corner of Philip Marx Central Park, can be accessed if you walk across the park or if you take East "C" street all the way to the end and around the curve. That will take you right to the entrance and would be more convenient if you are carrying a lot of stuff. You can rent the facility for $50 an hour, there is a two hour minimum. You will also have to pay a $100 cleaning and security deposit and that is refundable if you leave the place the way you found it.
