The park is open sunrise to sunset and leashed, vaccinated dogs are welcome. While we were picnicking we saw families were using the playground and fishing, people horseback riding, and a couple walking their dogs. It was peaceful and pleasant place to spend the afternoon.

The lake has beautiful birds and some wild life. We saw plenty of squirrels and ducks. The trails are nicely marked and I believe you can also ride horses in this area. The covered area is a nice area if you are a fisherman as well as the bridge. The second day we hiked up to the top area that has a gazebo and just admired the View. The beauty and serenity of this area is priceless. It really helps you appreciate the small things.

While you're walking the trail you will see plenty of wildlife. It's getting warmer so the snakes will be coming out, so always keep an eye out. There are two dog parks here, I don't frequent them very often. I prefer just to take the dog for a walk. Movies in the park is starting soon. Always fun when you have small kids. There are all the typical awesome things you'd find in a park including kids playgrounds and swings. All of these are new and of a quality structure. But what really stands out are the cool extra features like filtered water bottle fillers, exercise equipment, and a Bike Pump Track. If you don't know what a Pump Track is it's a place to practice your mountain biking skills. Oh Tehachapi, you really know your audience! Looking at this park you can tell there was a lot of thought and consideration that went into renovating it. It's the little things that count in life and in parks too!

Fields are decent, they could use a little more upkeep and water but they do the job. Driving into the area, there are lots of pot holes and hard to see speed bumps. So you need to drive slow which you should be doing anyway because kids are around. They have a kitchen area that was used to prepare the Cub Scout meals. Plenty of parking by that field also. It's nice that Tehachapi has a place for the kids to play soccer and football. Before this was built the kids would play soccer on baseball fields at west park. So it's been a nice edition to the city. Hopefully they can keep it nice for generations to come.
