Adding new information: This business is unethical. My insurance company talked to them, and the reason why they sent me the brand I didn't want it's because it's CHEAPER! The pharmacy would lose money if they send me what I requested; however, if that's the case, the pharmacy should communicate with my doctor's office from the very beginning not until the last minute when I reached out. Now my medicine will be delayed for more than 4 days. This business basically doesn't have ethics and only cares about money. Avoid this business if you could. This pharmacy sent me a substitute generic brand without my consent which is birth control. - if you are a female you know how each generic brand works differently. My gynecologist office places the prescription with this pharmacy so I don't know the details but I specifically said I needed Xulane patch, not Zafemy. The worst part is that there's a guy named Luis who's racist and rude. After I tell him my name which is a foreign name on the prescription, he had an attitude against me. He using inappropriate language like "I'm not repeating my name to you" "there's no further discussion" "I'm in charge." This guy cut me off a few times and never let me finish my desired solution and doesn't have a can-do attitude. All he did is "there's nothing I can do for you, is your doctor's fault" So ladies, avoid this racist place that substitutes your birth control without letting you know. So sad to learn that new management has made changes and stopped carrying the high quality supplements that were once available here. This place was a total gem. They have a great staff so hopefully that won't be changing! Not only did they lie but they have zero follow up. They had a prescription FOR A MONTH! Never got back to me, never contacted my doctor, lied to me when they told me they took care of the problem. My sister in law was in complete liver and kidney failure at St. Alexius fighting for her life. We needed cbd oil badly. I gave my brother in law contact info for this pharmacy so he could pick some up on his way to the hospital. He was stuck in traffic and called them to see if they could stay open later so he could get it that day...AND THEY DID!!! They stayed open an hour and a half later than usual just to help us out. I can't thank them enough for their kindness for helping us in a time of crisis. Its two months later and my sister in law is still fighting for her life but she is still with us which has baffled doctors. I'm confident the cbd oil had something to do with it. I was looking for somewhere I could purchase a supplement and they seemed to be the ONLY place that had it. It's a very welcoming pharmacy. It felt a bit like a Pharmaca (they are in Western US - integrated pharmacy). Anyway, it's rather small, but CHOCK full of things, both familiar & unfamiliar, nice natural toiletries and essential oils, some snacks, and a bunch of alternative / natural things that we all should be using. AND - when I got home, I realized I grabbed a tester of a body spray that was half full. I sent them an email explaining what happened, that I DIDN'T have my receipt, the time I was there, what items I bought and the last digits of my cc. I got a prompt reply saying to come back in to get a new one. And they give 12% discount on the entire bill. The good reviews are all old as I've been using for over 5 years. Now they constantly are poor service mixing up Rx, spreading pickups over multiple days. Call confirm pickup in morning they say it will be ready but when you get there someone else answers like you never had called and you wait outside for 30 minutes. When you're trying to pickup on lunch from work this is awful. Lacking in customer details and communication skills. I think I need to switch back to Walgreens. read more

I happened to come across this pharmacy over a year ago while shopping in the area. I suffer from multiple autoimmune diseases and other disorders that many people don't know about. I walked into the store with my very curious 4 year old at the time and I was greeted by a very pleasant gentleman whom I came to learn was the owner of the store. He and I started talking about the vitamins I was looking at and he stared asking me questions why I was choosing the vitamins/supplements I was looking at. To my surprise, he KNEW. No one knows much about Interstitial Cystitis, PCOS, Endometriosis and Hashimoto's (to name a few!!) I showed him the prices I was paying for the current vitamins I was purchasing from Amazon and he not only matched the price, but gave us 15% off our bill on top of that. I also purchased essential oils and he was able to tell me which ones would benefit us the most because I have fibromyalgia and also a very weak immune system, so these oils worked on those two conditions along with my anxiety. Back to my rambunctious boy, he gave him some food to keep him happy and a drink so we could continue talking and enjoy our visit! I loved them from the get go. Now back to today! I just had major abdominal surgery. If you have Interstitial Cystitis or Endometriosis, you'll know how horrible painful and debilitating these conditions are. The surgeries are hard and just knock you off your feet. Sure you can take narcotics, anti inflammatories, muscle relaxers etc but there is nothing that actually gets TO your pelvic region. They gave this to me while I was admitted in the hospital and it was a miracle. The pain was almost non existent. My amazing Gynecologist who is a lifesaver gave me a prescription for B&O Suppositories. These are incredibly hard to find and when you do find them, insurance doesn't want to cover them or you have to fight them to cover them. While still in the hospital I was calling everyone I could to find these. Either pharmacies said no, or they told me I can't sell you 12 of them for $400. not a single one of them offered to help or suggested an alternative. I had remembered about Wholesome Health and decided to give them a call, and to be honest with out much hope. Immediately I was told, let us work on this for you and figure it out. We can get it for you and order it but we want to get the best price for you. I told them I couldn't afford the $800 for a 30 day supply, they were willing to help me appeal my insurance and work with my dr! I don't think you realize what this means to someone like me who is a chronic pain sufferer who constantly has to fight for medication or services for my health. So Wholesome Health took it even further, I got an email saying they found an alternative to the B&O Suppositories that they can make for me. A $30 day supply would be $45 that they would compound themselves, contact my dr personally and work on it to get it done. The pharmacist was worried about my pain and asked me if I had pain control to get me by while I was waiting. They made sure to stay on top of my needs. I don't know any pharmacy that does that. The other ones I called were rude, and didn't care about my business. They wanted the money. They even offered to deliver the medication but I do live in Mchenry so I told them we have NO problem picking the medication up. I will be switching most of my medications to them because of this alone. Would Walgreens, CVS, Meijer, Target or whomever go out of their way to make sure you aren't in pain? Would they try to figure out an alternative medication for your rare condition to make you comfortable? No, they wouldn't. Please support businesses like Wholesome Health. This is a wholesome waste of time. My doctor called in a prescription and said that this place could get me my prescription for free with a coupon so I went with it. It's super difficult to figure out how to get into the parking lot and there is no sign to explain how to get in. They will not let you in the store even though every other drug store in the world is wide open and lets people in. I called twice and I was immediately put on hold without any chance to even utter a word and the sign on the door says curbside pickup only. I sat in the car for 25 minutes and finally went up to the door because they would not pick up the phone. The lady who answered the door checked three times and claimed that my prescription was not there so I called my doctor and they confirmed that they did indeed call the prescription in the day before. After a long delay another employee came out and said they did have my prescription but they didn't fill it so then they asked me to wait in my car for another 10 minutes. Just save yourself some time and fill your prescription somewhere else this isn't worth it. read more

Dr. Amit treats all of his clients with dignity and respect. You won't experience any stigma there for having certain disease or disorder. I am both a surgeon and a patient. As a doctor, I get concerned when patients cannot afford their medications. GoodRx is a app/website that makes medications much much more affordable. They have coupons which you can use at many pharmacies. Sometimes, the big players in this space screw you over and charge you way too much. That was the position that I was in. I had a coupon but the Walgreen's & CVS pricing was over the top. I called Wholesome Health and they accepted the best priced coupon. They were super friendly and super accommodating. THEY EVEN DELIVER FOR FREE. My interactions with the pharmacist and his staff have been pleasant, easy, professional and exactly what I was missing from the big retail chains. They have a great selection and THE RIGHT PRICES. I cannot say enough great things about these guys and their service and responsiveness.
