We would recommend Loukia and Wholistic to anybody that's lucky enough to board their precious canine family member with them. They've always been reliable and extremely thoughtful in their care of our crazy Vizsla/Weimaraner mix, Ty. Loukia gives him his daily medicine, plenty of exercise (which he desperately needs and can't get at a large-scale boarding facility) - going for YouTube-viewable hikes in Cranbury Park each day, and a loving household with a specially outfitted, blue, doggie living room to crash in with his friends, and a fenced in yard. Loukia has really gone the extra mile for us - even staying up with our pup so we could pick him up way too late at night for some much needed dog cuddling time after flying back from a funeral. It is the biggest weight off of our chests when Ty is staying at Wholistic because we know our dog is having so much fun with his familiar boarding friends and he is in caring hands. We could not enjoy our trips before... seeing our sad little guy on cctv in a converted storage unit, whining at the door at 2am. My fiancé and I have used Wholistic Pet Service twice in the past month for our 18 month Labrador Retriever. Our dog can be a bit of a handful at times however, this was no trouble for Loukia. She met with us prior to caring for our dog and provided us with great insight. Loukia was responsive to our questions and was flexible with our schedules. We consider our two dogs to be members of our family, and we do not trust just anyone to care for them, especially since one of our dogs is an almost blind senior rescue. We feel so lucky that we discovered Loukia! From the moment we first spoke on the phone, I could tell that she absolutely loves dogs. She is caring, thoughtful, kind and compassionate. Our dogs stayed with her for 6 nights, and she was in constant communication throughout the entire process, from the moment they were dropped off with her until the moment she dropped them back off with us. They took hikes, got lots of love and attention and slept on comfy beds in her home. In the photos and videos she shared, they always looked so happy and were wagging their tails, and when we got them back, they were exhausted and happy. Our senior dog also had some trouble with his eyes during the stay, and Loukia cared for him and called me just to discuss a specific care plan. This is an update to my review in 2017. I continue to be so thankful that we found Loukia. Our dog Bella (who isn't very trusting of people) literally leaps out of our car and can't get inside Loukia's home fast enough when we drop her off for overnight stays. My families nickname for Loukia is Bella's second mom and more importantly, the dog whisperer. Bella was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis and Loukia was the one who figured out the final ingredient in her home-made food (a daily 1/2 tsp. fish oil supplement) that was continuing to be problematic for her. Since then, Bella has been thriving and is symptom free. Loukia is my go-to person for nutritional advice and where to source food, supplements, and healthy treats. If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars I would. Where do I start? Well ... my children and I moved to CT from CA in July and then the "adventure" began. Long story short we ended up with no home (our rental was condemned due to being unsafe and unhealthy (a whole different story) and so we ended up living with the children's grandmother. We arrived in the children's grandmother's house with 2 kids, 1 adult, 3 cats and 2 dogs. Now this is a woman who is 1) very particular and 2) does not like pets. After about 2 weeks our two dogs were destroying the house - literally. They were anxious and my 4 year old dog had a paw that looked like a plucked chicken due to her licking it obsessively out of nerves. My male puppy was a basket of energy and very destructive - again due to nerves and not able to have the space they needed. Finally a friend of mine found me Wholistic Pet Services. The dogs stayed with Loukia fro about 2 months and my older dog who used to charge other dogs and had a random aggressive streak was more mellow, responsive to voice control and her paw - that looked like a plucked chiken - was all filled with a beautiful coat of fur! she literally looked 3 years younger ... looked like a puppy. My male puppy also had calmed down and Loukia had unleashed the issue with him which was a bit of competition. Long story short to say: Loukia has an amazing facility -- it is like a hotel for dogs .. a 5 star hotel for dogs! She is loving, dedicated, talented She is tireless in her energy she gives the dogs --- she gives them a home, love and amazing walks an hikes I cannot recommend her enough .... she is amazing! read more

I recently moved to CT and I was going to be traveling almost right away for work so I needed to find a reliable dog sitter, preferably one that doesn't use kennels. I heard about Wholistic Pet Services and Loukia, the owner, from some of my new coworkers. I met her for an interview and was immediately at ease. Upon meeting her, you can't help but quickly realize that she loves dogs - all dogs, big and small. My dog is my child and I felt comfortable leaving her in the care of Loukia. While in her care, Loukia sent me Youtube videos of their walks, sent me text updates and, in general, did everything one needs to feel comfortable their furry child is safe. Upon pick-up, my dog was happy, full of energy and, when we went back the for a second stay a week later, she was actually excited to get back into the yard. We are thrilled to have Loukia in our life as our brilliant, bold, soulful and multi-talented dog walker, dog trainer and hand-holder. She has had a transformative and invigorating effect on our golden retriever and truly brings out his best self. She takes him on the most wonderful, scenic romps and hikes with her gorgeous wolf pack of alpha-dogs - everywhere from Cranbury Park to mysterious hidden ravines in the back woods of Connecticut. The hikes are rain or shine and we have been so impressed with her punctuality, outstanding work ethic and unfailing sense of professional responsibility. What's especially gratifying is that our sweet dog adores Loukia and practically trips over himself running to the door when he hears her van pull up. He appreciates her warm and playful spirit and my husband and I value her wisdom, insight and endless patience as we attempt to navigate a complex new world of doggie nutrition, training, exercise and well-being as first-time dog owners. She is a consistent voice of calm and sanity and fields the occasional panicky late-night phone call or text with smiles, good humor and aplomb. I cannot praise Loukia highly enough or recommend her more unreservedly. My only fear is that she will be "discovered" by a reality producer who will want to showcase her huge, vibrant personality and Cesar Milan-style talents. Loukia deserves a bigger stage and she will eventually get one. I am so grateful I found Loukia when I moved here! First off, let me just say that I am extremely protective of my dog. Abby is almost 8 now, but up until ~3 yrs ago I had never boarded Abby w/anyone other than my parents back in TX (which required me to drive down 5hrs to drop her off with). So when I moved here, I spent hours looking through reviews and talking to different dog walkers/boarders in the area as I was traveling for work a lot. Then I found Loukia. After bringing Abby over for a meet and greet - I instantly knew Loukia was very different from the other people I had talked to. You can see she really cares for the dogs & truly loves being around them, and the dogs love & respect her as well. She treats all of the pups like her own. And even better - she disciplines them when needed! She doesn't just come and walk your dog around the block for 20 mins (for a VERY energetic black lab, that does nothing). She takes her pack out for long hikes every day - rain or shine! Abby always comes back as happy and tired as can be. She also always sends tons of photos/videos to us when we we're traveling. Loukia is a rockstar! We recently moved to Norwalk, CT from the city and couldn't be happier with the exceptional service that Loukia provides. I'm one of those crazy dog Moms that worries constantly about my "child" (#dogchildren). I was put at ease when Blair began with Loukia. She was right at home with Loukia and her pack. In the past, we had issues with A. Blair chasing anything and everything and B. over excitement around other dogs and C. a need to roll in anything that smelled even remotely foul. Since Blair has been with Loukia, we have not experienced any of those issues. Blair walks off leash freely without even a look at squirrels and has not (fingers crossed) attempted to cover herself in anything foul. Loukia is amazing! She's taken a city pooch and turned her in to a country princess! And not only that, she is amazingly trustwothy and reliable. My situation is often in flux as I travel frequently, so having Loukia always there to help has been beyond amazing. To even call what Loukia does dog "boarding" does her a disservice--Loukia is basically dog-mom to my lab, Rufus, whenever we go away (which is often). The dogs under her care are never, ever crated--they go on hikes, have playtime together, eat healthy, often home-cooked meals, and snooze on couches and beds artfully arranged throughout the house. I truly hit the jackpot when a good friend recommended I call Loukia Tsapari and her Wholistic Pet Service to care for my two dogs while I was to be away. After years of agonizing over where to board them when we travel, Loukia is heaven sent. Quite simply, my dogs adore her. She comes to your home and picks them up as well as brings them back to you upon your return. With travel days so often hectic, not having to worry about getting our dogs to where they are boarding is a wonderful bonus. The additional joy of seeing how excited they get as soon as they see Loukia's car makes leaving them so much easier. Then, while traveling, Loukia sends us pictures and video updates of them throughout their day, whether it's on their many walks, or playing with the other dogs, or sleeping on their own mattresses in a big, open, comfortable room. When they return, their behavior is always amazing. Loukia is like the dog whisperer. They listen, they respond to my words, they behave beautifully. Once back home, whenever I have replayed Loukia's videos, the moment my dogs hear her voice they race to the front door so excited, thinking she is here. When not traveling, once a week they go with Loukia and any number of other dogs to the dog park. Again, she picks them up and drops them off. All the dogs in the car will get out, welcome our dogs, then Loukia simply says a word and they all instantly get back in the car. It is amazing.
