I have been in and out of doctors offices and hospitals since 2015 trying to identify why my heart and lungs are not working properly. I was finally told by a doctor that they do not prevent or cure diseases. They only treat them. I believe that I have mold in my lungs and I cannot get medical doctors to test urine samples for mold. I went to Wholistic Solutions and Marshall told me that he couldn't tell me what was wrong but he could help me either way. When researching this place, I realize there were no reviews and found this odd. Anyway, I have been receiving Woods gravity colonics for the last 10 years in NYC. Let's get all the small stuff out of the way. My appt, was at 1:00 pm which was important as I was kindly offered a ride to Metairie. The colonic hydrotherapist had me waiting 20 minutes while he spoke to another client who walked in off the street as soon as I came in. He would have kept talking until I interrupted and said," Excuse me, I have an appt and have been sitting for 20 minutes." Then he started the appt. Now, I understand this is the deep South, and not New York or LA. However, there are standards of practice. The hydrotherapist introduced himself and then gave a short summary of the machine. This is called the Angel of Water. This is how it works. I asked him how long it would take as I then had to call my friend and reschedule the time. To which he replied, " As long as it takes. Whatever your body needs. You need to want to spend the time on your body. Okay, where is your friend? Why isn't she here, having a colonic? Let me talk to her." Honestly, at this point, I was horrified. Warning bells. What did I get myself into. But I really needed the colonic. I said very sternly, "Here's the situation. It's already late. Don't bother her. This is MY colonic- let's start." So: the colonic part: 1.) If you are used to having a Woods gravity colonic, take note- this is completely different. I do not mind inserting the tube into myself and seeing what was coming out of me is very important. The huge amount of water produced a blockage in me until finally I realized I had to push with this machine. It's all you. You voluntary expel all the wastes out of your body. Marshall, the colonic hydrotherapist helped me immensely with the massage device and peppermint oil. He really did supply comfort as that moment as I was truly uncomfortable . He gave me a basket to throw up in. After that, I felt amazing. I also realized I can adjust the water to what my body needs. As I am familiar with a very present colonic hydrotherapist, I did feel a little weird being alone in the room with just the machine. But I got used to it. I pressed down on my own stomach, and expelled more wastes. At the end, I felt really good. As I got dressed and prepared to pay, I was shocked to see my friend waiting in the lobby. Apparently, Marshall had summoned her from her car where she was waiting for me. He proceeded to then talk to her about the benefits of colonics and sell her. That is not cool!!! Are you serious?? She promptly put him in his place. This behavior is extremely unprofessional. Once again, this would never fly in any other town except Metairie. I'm from NYC, and this would be a different story had this happened there. Seriously. While paying, Marshall asked me if I would like to purchase a package, supplements, acidophilus etc. I replied, "No, just the treatment." The treatment was 75 dollars. To which he replied, " I wish I could take 75 million". Okay, that is not cool. This was really my last straw. You never say that to a client. Wow. This guy has got some nerve. I collected my friend and she was not happy. We left. I'm gonna say basic things here: customer service is zero here, he sells everybody, not professional or considerate of other peoples' time or feelings. I'm s strong personality, so I can just imagine what he would have done to someone more laid back. As he is one of the only colonic businesses out here, he will get clients. Just not me. I would gladly pay more and have a woods gravity colonic any day. This colonic was effective. But waiting and bringing my friend into the situation was not. After researching for the Angel hydrotherapy colonics system in the southern region I came across Holistic Life on Google. Needless to say all the negative reviews did not help. I was very hesitant to make an appointment but I thought about the reviews and that they are just opinions. Sometimes people will form bad opinions if they're in a bad mood or if they think something should go their way and it doesn't. I was very glad I made an appointment to check out the business for myself because I will be returning. The owner is the only therapist there and the longest I waited to be seen was 10 minutes which wasn't bad. I understood that it's a one man shop and people don't move at the speed of lightning. He was very professional and passionate about what he does and it shows. He gave me an in-depth consultation which made me aware of why I was having the issues I was experiencing and how watching what I ate would help eliminate some of my issues. After my colonics I came out feeling better than ever and lighter. I will definitely keep this as a maintenance and will be making that 1.5 hr trip. The therapist mentioned he was about to turn 60 which shocked me because he does not look a day over 45. I mentioned his age in this review because it shows that he practices what he preaches. If you're looking for a colonics with a top of the line system at an extremely affordable price then do your research, read all the reviews and go check out Holistic Life and form your own opinion. Would not even give this place one star if it allowed me. The owner is rude and unprofessional. Will never step foot in this place again and I would recommend the same for everyone else too. It is worth the drive to Covington, LA for a colonic then having such a horrible experience again! Also if you go to his clinic please watch your temperature because he left me on the table with the water entering me at 106 degrees before. He also does not require a doctors order or have a doctor on staff. I am surprised he hasn't been closed down yet. read more

I have had several appointments there and Mr. Marshall is very interpersonal and knowledgeable about the human body. The place is call "Holistic" for a reason. The whole part and not a piece. At first the place seems strange, but after I observed how the place function, I became more comfortable. He checked on me multiple times while I was receiving therapy so I was not just there being unattended too. He does like to promote and sell the alkaline water. Thanks to Mr. Marshall for the knowledge as I appreciate the education as I no longer drink water out of plastic bottles and I am currently drinking alkaline water. Therefore , I do not see anything wrong with promoting products or services. Knowledge is power so if you are unfriendly like most New Yorkers, very needed, and not spiritual well this might not be the place for you. He does not share your information with anyone, he has a private office where he sits down and make recommendations. Its more than just colonic treatment. I was a little skeptical about going to this place since I only saw two reviews & the first one was looooong and full of negativity, but then I weighed my odds (2 reviews) & said to myself at the end of the day, does the process work, although, customer service is always my #1"must have", everyone's different. Long story short.. I went and glad that I did! The same person that was spoke of negatively is who I had (so I was a bit nervous), but he was very polite, very informative and didn't pressure me into doing it. Now there was a bit of a wait and that's due to him asking questions as far as your profile, hobbies, eating habits, etc.. and the fact that he makes you understand what the process is supposed to do as well as others using the machine. This was my first time ever having a colonic. I was extremely nervous, but as soon as I walked in the hydrotherapist made me feel comfortable and relax. He is very personable and gentle. He counselled me before and after the procedure to ensure that I understood everything. During the colonic he helped me to calm down and allow the procedure to work. After reading the reviews on this place, I was very skeptical. But I can honestly say that the negative reviews are wrong. Mr. Marshall was not unprofessional and in fact was very accommodating and flexible with scheduling my appt. This was my first colonic so most of what I knew about it was from online research. Overall, it was uncomfortable, my stomach was very crampy through out the entire process and the message techniques did not work. I did not see much bowel discharge, but I also do have the best digestion system either. I didn't feel any different when I left other than bloated. I hear so many people say that felt lights but I didn't, now I also had been on a 8 day detox cleanse so maybe that's why. Not sure if I'll get another one in the future, because it was pricey and I didn't see results. The only thing that I would change about the experience, is that he spoke to me alot about religion and that did seem strange, it was almost like he was drilling me on my knowledge of the bible instead of what I was therefore, I think he noticed that I wanted to change the subject so he did. I feel quite the opposite from the review below. I thought Marshall made me feel super comfortable for my first visit. When I arrived he was thoroughly cleaning the rooms which I thought was great because I worry about cleanliness so it is good to know that he takes great care of his facility. After reviewing my form he took me into his office to discuss any questions or concerns. He gave recommendations as far as my water intake and types of probiotics. He did try selling me on the brand they sell at the clinic, but what place doesn't? I have never been to any facility where they do not try to sell their product. If I didn't already have a probiotic I would have considered it. Marshall explained he started this company due to the loss of his mother and aunt of colon cancer. I thought that was a nice thing for him to share. This shows his compassion and care to his patients. After the colonic was over he proceeded to walk me to my car. What a gentleman.
