I stopped by at 9:58 a.m. and found the door unlocked, so I walked in assuming the store was open. I was immediately told they didn't open until 10:00 and was denied service. That wouldn't have been a big deal, but the woman working at the front desk was extremely rude and made the interaction feel unnecessarily unpleasant. For context, I was there to pick up meat for a large party and planned to spend around $2,000. Instead, I took my business to another local butcher. I'm not saying Wicked Good Butcha doesn't offer quality products--I've heard good things about their meat. My issue was solely with the customer service and the way I was treated. Pricey but it's a Butcher you should expect to pay for quality. Lamb tips always great not always available but I get it. I'm doing review as I've been a loyal reward member & frequent customer & had weird experience today. Asked for Rib Roast, bone in, guy went to see if the "have any" 10 mins later another (Mgr?) comes out; " how big a roast...?" Two ribs..." "I can't do that I'd have to open a large cut etc". Wow they didn't want to sell me a $200 roast they have on hand? Very weird. I'll cash my "Loyalty Member" points/credits & will be done. Grabbed some steak, twice baked potatoes, and stuffed mushrooms for dinner, last nights meal was excellent! Also grabbed a chicken quesadilla from the lunch counter. Love going to this place, the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Ya know, they really oughta nickname the town of Bedford "Booji Town". Because this is where New Hampshirites come to empty their wallets. So, it's a high end butcher shop. *ahem* ... 'Scuse me, butchah shop. How I happened by this place was actually through word-of-mouth via the NH subreddit. When I saw they had a fairly good average (despite having far too few reviews), I knew this would be the ideal place to purchase my first home cooked prime rib. Now, this review shall be a special treat for some of you. Because for once, I get to show off a bit of my limited cooking skills, whilst also showcasing the would-be end results of consuming such high quality produce in the privacy of one's own home. As you can see, the selection is vast! I couldn't stop taking pictures, but kinda had to restrain myself in case the staff or management assumed I was somebody important. Fish, chicken, beef, pork? WGB has you covered. As mentioned, we stopped in for a nice prime rib. They have two cuts, Grade A and Prime (if I'm remembering those correctly...please don't @ me). Let's just nickname them "good enough cut" and "booji cut". Long story short, the booji cut has more marbling; ergo, more naturally buttery flavor. Since this was an extra special treat I was providing for myself and family, I opted for the additional flavor. This was my first attempt at roasting a prime rib at home and I gotta say...it came out really good! About an 8 out of 10, if I'm being completely transparent. I gotta tweak some things with the recipe. But ultimately, temp control is the key to cooking a juicy, tender prime rib. I had a chance to peak at some of the other items available here and noted the steaks are also priced significantly higher than the grocery store. Perhaps one day I might try a rib eye from here just to see how it turns out on the grill. Evidently, they have a counter in the front that also sells sides and sandwiches. Dunno if I'd ever personally use this, but it's there for folks who wanna grab a quick bite to-go. Oh, and a shout out to the outstanding staff who quickly helped us and explained the choices of cuts they had. They were also wicked accommodating when it came to portioning the requested weight. Great service, & great meats. Also love their chicken salad!! I Wasn't crazy for the stuffed mushrooms, unfortunately. Ended up tossing them.. that was a bummer.. but so far, I really have enjoyed most everything I've tried. Friend and I went here to get lunch. We got burrito bowls. They were underwhelming. The establishment was clean and looked to have a variety of locally produced foods. The counter was clean. The selection was adequate. She got pork. I got veggie. They kept the different items covered so it appeared little to no cross contamination, which I appreciated. Veggies were basically cut up and raw. Barely cooked. There wasn't any hot salsa. While we were eating we both mentioned they had no flavor. They were boring. Chipotle is better. I always prefer to shop local, and I love to try new places so I was excited for the chance to try a new to me butcher shop for a Father's Day dinner. I was exceptionally excited when I called ahead asking which of the steak marinades were gluten free as my significant other has celiac disease. We were both excited when we were told "all except teriyaki". The store has a great variety of products and we took our time checking everything out. When we got to the meat counter I noticed the sign stating that flavors marked with a red border were gluten free, which was great, until we noticed teriyaki was marked with a red border. I asked the younger gentleman that was helping us if he could double check that. He spoke with an older gentleman who said something along the lines of "they change the recipe so much I don't remember". The young man came back and relayed to us that "the different borders change sometimes" which was concerning as there is a sign stating red meant gluten free. I pointed it out to him and explained that marking something incorrectly like that could land someone in the hospital. Most people who suffer from celiac know to ask the right questions but well intended friends and family might not know to question it. If we had other options at that point we would have just left because that is extremely concerning and shows no responsibility of knowing allergens. We hesitantly purchased a few other marinaded steaks and moved to the salad counter. The women there were helpful and knowledgeable. I asked if they had any gluten free potato salads and one of them pulled out a binder and checked right in front of us. That made us both feel much more at ease with our decision. Upon getting home with our purchases we looked up the marinades online and discovered that the "grill master" may not be gluten free after all. All of the steak was already on the grill at this point, so my girlfriend could only have the Red Sox tips as they were the only identifiable tips on the grill. I did try to resolve this before posting but I have not heard a peep from anyone in regard to an email sent last week. All the emails they have posted are invalid, it took almost a week before I got a response on Facebook to get a valid email address. I would rather save someone from getting sick over saving the reputation of a business who showed that they clearly don't care about allergies. read more

Takeout food from here I wouldn't recommend. How bad can you mess up a quesadilla? Is this a quesadilla or an undercooked pancake stuffed with plastic cheese and unseasoned meat? Definitely better to buy the ingredients separately and cook it yourself. read more

I'd give less, but it wasn't an option. I'm a professional Chef of over 20 years. They offer hot soup (zero marketing, or signage). I helped myself and proceeding to eat it as the cashier asked me to weigh it? One size only of broccoli cheddar was over $8.50? Unbelievable and will never return...if the owner reaches out and apologizes; I'll consider consulting for her/him and drastically improve the operations, until then, still looking for a tablecloth, waiter, and wine list! read more

Who could resist going in with a name like Wicked Good Butchah? Certainly not me. I think this place has recently opened. They're located in a plaza with the awesome coffee place - Flight. Great selection of craft beers. A lot of meats and produce, as expected. I was disappointed with their bakery items. Seemed very limited. Some items seemed overly expensive like gelato from a local chain which was nearly $9. I found it extremely cold in there too. And staff looked directly at me a few times and didn't ask if I needed help. At check out, the woman continued her conversation with her co-worker and wasn't super friendly. I really wanted to like this butcher shop. I tried it on 4 separate occasions with the same result. Extremely poor service. The most recent time, myself and another customer were waiting at the meat cases. Rang the bell, nothing. Couple minutes go by and someone peaks out the back window and can see us standing there. Again.... Nothing. A front end full of employees and one was kind enough to ask if we were being helped. I replied "no" and she said just ring the bell and someone will come out. I let her know we've already tried that and her response was "I'm sure they'll be right out". How about you walk back there and tell them to get to the meat cases? This was the last opportunity I gave this place to shine. Done with trying to give them business. The time before this, I had a kid who couldn't give a crap about working there. Mumbled the whole time, couldn't say "thank you" or anything. I placed a package of moldy sub rolls on the counter to let him know they should take it off the shelf. Nothing. No thank you, no apology for having a bag of moldy sub rolls on the shelf to sell. Do yourself a favor. WOW! Out from California for thanksgiving and we were stuck without Prime rib and we called this place and from the minute we talked to them they were great! We went in to get the meat and we were welcomed when we walked in. Then we were helped immediately at the butcher station by great guys who were so happy and helpful. Great meats at meat counter and a great variety of beers and ciders. Today we went at 5:15 and the deli person was cleaning slicers. When I asked for some deli meat he gave me an attitude saying he was already cleaning up and would have to finish cleaning and he clearly didn't want to give me deli meat. I have just 2 complaints first off their website is apparently not up to date you cannot do any sort of curbside pickup and second you cannot even pre order your food order so that you do not have to spend as much time inside the store!!! Save your money and go to tomahawk or flying butcher. My husband and I have spent a lot of money there and every time the service is terrible. The kids working at the meat counter are not friendly and do not give a crap about customers. The deli counter is the same. They have one slow person working and then one person who will come out from the back after you wait for 5 minutes. Today I went to use a "reward" there (free pound of marinated steak tips) and the cashier said I needed to go back to the meat counter to redeem it. I had already waited for 10 minutes at the counter then again in line to check out. How am I supposed to know I have a reward until I check out? I never write reviews and have given this place many chances. I will use my reward next time and then never go back. I will go to Tomahawk for boars head products or meat or drive to flying butcher because they both are great and care about their customers. read more
