It took a while, but Twin Oaks was reasonable, and by far the most helpful in explaining the process, which was surprisingly complicated, due to switching color to black and white and other stuff like that. After that, they are my go-to people for photography projects. Months later, I needed some enlargements done for gifts, and they were well-priced and again, helpful as always. I'm definitely going back when next I need some photogservices. The employees are nice and helpful, they give you an accurate estimate when the work will be done, and give you a call when it's ready. Both were very friendly and knowledgable. My camera was ready the same day (they did say 24-48 hours but was called as soon it was ready). Wow. So appreciate their attention to service. I am renting a lens for an upcoming photography trip from them at the end of the month. Their website is very easy to navigate for rentals. Their prices for rentals are extremely competitive with other local camera shops. So happy they are in Austin. Sorry it took me a bit to find them. I will definitely be back.

Lauren later replaced the glass in some framed memorabilia, without charging at all! These jobs took some time, but I wasn't in a hurry. I suspect she has a perennial backlog because people appreciate her work and recommend her to friends, which is how I came to know of her. Her home is an interesting place to visit: she has a lot of antique household objects like phones and games in her customer reception area. Her first language is Spanish but there was no communications barrier. She is now training her adult daughter, a native speaker of English, in these very specialized skills.

At the end of the day, she is a middle man. You can buy diamonds direct on sites like RareCarat. The diamonds have a certificate and a unique number. You can even Google that number and find some other sites that might be selling the same diamond cheaper. You can also get a custom ring design pretty much anywhere. But after doing more research to help my friend get a ring, I discovered that I way overpaid for the diamonds and ring by hundreds of dollars.
