All delivered again locally to me free of charge and again at a good price. Good quality goods, good price, good service, communication and delivery. Will be my first 'go to' place as required now.

This is where builders, scaffolders, grafters, and other such Levi-wearing roughly shaven brutish men come to buy their building supplies. And so they should, Kellaway are immensely good at what they do. Originally a family run business this independent store now has eight branches across the South West supplying everything you could possibly need from DIY to the more adventurous and indeed professional construction jobs. From putting up shelves in my sister's house to installing a new boiler I have always found both the tools and the information down here. Think B and Q but less gimmicky and more hands-on. Grrr.

I am not very interested in DIY but as a general rule when I get dragged into a DIY I still find things to look at or buy e.g. plants, seeds and garden stuff, or sweets! But Wickes is the exception to the rule its a serious Building Suppliers with no frills and nothing to do but wander round the endless shelves of bags of plaster, nails, paint brushes etc. I get so bored! The advantage of Wickes is that it stocks pretty much every building and DIY product you can think of and its cheaper than DIY stores such as B & Q and Homebase.

The trolley was rather loaded and when we got to the till I asked if it was possible for help. The guy said yes and called Dave who took the trolley put it all in the boot, then took the trolley back for us and came back with the coin. I also had three broken hub caps to dispose of and there was no space for them, he then took them to put into the trash. All the time he was with us he couldn't have been more helpful.

The staff are really knowledgable and helpful and will do there best to help in any way they can. They have helped me out on nemerous occasions when I have come in here looking for obscure sized batteries or DIY equipment. As well as DIY equipment they also sell such things as batteries, lights, kitchen equipment, household goods and they also cut keys. Their prices are really reasonable, often cheaper than the big DIY shops.

What does surprise me is how they manage to translate some of the customer requests into any form of sense?! If you've ever stood in the envariable, short but fast moving, queue to pay you'll have heard it :O) There's no hard sell here and they'll always be my preference as opposed going to some large faceless DIY store...and even if they are not cheaper (which they are in most cases!) when you take into account the fuel for getting to Weston or Bridgwater your better off going here instead....parking being the only problem if you want to buy anything large/heavy/awkward. Good luck to Darren/Phil/Kelly & Denise and hope they keep doing what they're doing! Mark PS: Why do pensioners HAVE to go shopping at weekends since they really should leave these days for those of us who work all week and who's time is precious & (mostly) we know what we want to buy..rest assured you won't see me shopping at weekends when I hit 66 :o)
