We put our son through this daycare when it was MapleLeaf on carmen rd in guilderland, and then became Widdle Ones under Rajshree. I know during the pandemic staffing was hard, and yes there were struggles for staffing or illness. What everyone who rated isn't admitting, is all daycares were going through that struggle. Since then, as Widdle Ones, Rajshree and her husband made a lot of improvements and reached out to the parents for q and a's for input on what changes they hoped to see. They improved the curriculum and made changes to staff for the better of the facility, and we definitely noticed those improvements. They made more efforts to connect with families, doing more involved events and were working on possibly getting organized outings. I really believe they have the family's best interests and continue to try to grow, and they really did great work to prepare and inspire our son for kindergarten. We would recommend and intend to use them again if we decide to have more children. Give widdle ones on carmen road a chance!​ read more

When my kids started this daycare 3 years ago I used to love it! The past year it went down hill especially when my daughter entered the 3s class. They are unable to handle normal 3 year old behaviors, bitting, hitting, temper tantrums, and climbing on things. There is no door on the classroom, and it's open to the lobby area. They expect kids to not go past a piece of tape on the floor. If your child continues to climb, hit or leave the classroom They will threaten to disenroll you. My daughter reported to another teacher that Ms. Crystal hit her and had a black and blue on her side. It was reported to ocfs and child protective. The next day the Center called and said my children were not allowed back due to reporting them. Rajsharee the director will sweep things under the rug and hide things to not get caught. She is nice to your face and then talks poorly behind your back to others. She should not be a director of a daycare when she has no care for children and their feelings. The owners will not call you back when you request a meeting or to collect your children's belongings. read more

I will start by saying this review has absolutely nothing to do with the teachers, as they are trying their best with the resources given. This also has nothing to do with the children themselves. They are just being children. They need to be taught guidance, have structure and have boundaries with consequences for unsafe and unruly behaviors. I will say this... #1 Do not send your children to Maple Leaf Glenville. Infants I'm sure is fine, the teachers are great. And babies are just well, babies. #2 if you do have children enrolled there now, ASK QUESTIONS. Ask why there have been so many teachers in and out in such a short amount of time. Talk to your children about what goes on during their day. If they say something concerning, ask questions about it. This center is not equipped to handle children with challenging behaviors. It is at no fault of the children, I will miss them dearly, but the management and lack of experienced support that is to blame. This center needs to be honest with parents when their center is not the right fit for their child. They allow children who are struggling to continue to be enrolled here causing so much stress and chaos in the classroom from the teachers and the students. I was hired as a lead teacher, I did very little teaching while here. I had great plans, great behavior management ideas for the classroom, but the lack of support made it impossible for me to implement those plans. I know what is expected once these children start kindergarten as I came from working k-2 for eight years, specifically with behavioral support. Admittedly by their own letter, they do not have enough staff to care for the children. The following is a copy and paste from the Maple Leaf Administration dated July 12, 2021: "Dear MLCC Families, As many of you are aware, it has been extremely difficult to find and retain qualified staff since the pandemic began. Some of our centers have had to close classrooms or turn away families due to lack of staff. Many businesses are trying to hire more staff to accommodate their needs but the number of qualified candidates applying is very low. This poses a significant challenge for us to operate effectively. In this competitive market, we feel to retain and employ qualified staff members we need to increase our pay scale. As a result, we have found it necessary to implement a tuition increase to our current families which will go into effect the week of August 23rd, 2021. At this time, our hours of operation will remain modified until more qualified staff can be hired. Once the staffing is stable again, we can extend our hours back to "normal". We will do this as soon as possible. We strive to provide the best possible care for your family, and we appreciate you choosing Maple Leaf as your childcare provider. Attached is the new tuition rate sheet. If you have any questions, please speak to your Center Director. Sincerely, Maple Leaf Administration" They increased their tuition rates because they cannot hire enough staff, and they send your child home when they cannot properly provide care for him or her. So essentially, parents are paying for their child to be sent home because MLCC admittedly cannot care for your son or daughter even though you are paying them to do so. Due to the lack of staff, the current staff that are there are overworked resulting in an obvious increase in their stress level which is visually and auditorily evident. One wonders why they cannot hire enough staff??? Maybe if they had a competent director and a more personable assistant director, they might have a bit more luck with "qualified candidates" applying!!! read more

My daughter has been attending day care here for a few years now, the teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter loves her teachers and the building is beautiful, however there is ALWAYS communication problems. For example telling the assistant director something and having her have no clue how to answer you or just giving you wrong answers just aggravates me. (It has happened several times to me and to other parents that i know) she could not answer a simple question then reassured me that it would have been taken care of but apparently the director had no idea what I was talking about the next day when I approached her.I just do not agree with some of the "professional" stuff that is SUPPOSED to go on there. My daughter attended Maple Leaf on Carman Road from age 1 to 4. I was really happy with the care and devotion of the teachers for the most part (although teachers in some years were better than others), and the cheerful energy of the place. Kids always seemed to be doing a lot of art projects. I also liked it because they have a very good safety record, which I checked into the Capital District Child Care Council before enrolling her (their tel. is 426-7182, ext 303). My only complaint was the price, which I felt was a little high. read more
