I saw Bailey Johnson-Rae…read more When I walked in, the provider was messing around with the three other women at the front of the office. Fine to an extent, but not very professional either. They were discussing tattoos and playing around when I was sitting fairly close to them. I described my complaint to the provider, and got the response of what do you want me to do for you? Uhm.... Well, I told you what problems I was having, which meds I've taken already to try to help it, and which I had not. Finally, she decided that there was a few options for medications that we could try out. It was more so stated to me, and then decided entirely by her, rather than a collaborative experience or discussion about my care. I didn't feel like I was a part of the decision, and the whole experience in general was so disappointing. The med that was prescribed has MAJOR interactions with two meds that I take every day. I was not made aware of this fact by the provider, but rather told by the pharmacist who insisted on meeting with me when I went to pick it up, due to the major interactions. When I reached out to her/her medical assistant about it, and to ask to switch to one of the other options she told me about, I got the response that it's fine to take the original one prescribed, because both meds are PRN. When in fact, the two meds that I take that have a major interaction are not PRN and are taken every day. I know that they could see the instructions for those prescriptions in my file, because they had turned to their computer screen towards me to confirm what meds I was still taking and which ones I was not. They didn't even talk about or address the request switching to another medication in their response. By this point, I was so disturbed by the whole experience that I didn't want to keep fighting with them via messages, because I had decided that I would not be returning. It's unfortunate too, because the office was nice and clean, and the location was convenient with ample parking. I was looking to switch to her as a primary care. Hopefully this experience is just a reflection upon that one provider, and not the practice as a whole, but I almost feel like I would be reckless and to return to her and try again.

Yes, it was convenient, clean, the Dr. was lovely and they followed up with a call a few days later.. that is all good. However, I just opened my United Healthcare Statement and they billed my insurance over $11,000.00 for the test and they were paid on $6k of it... total scam. I would have not gone back for my own test and my other daughters test if I knew they double billed like this. I have yet to received those statements!

He has been among…read morethe worst doctor's that I have ever had the misfortune to have dealt with for the following reasons: - Rushes the appointment - General disinterest - Does NOT fill your prescriptions In my initial appointment with him, he attempt to make an effort at listening to me however the entire appointment felt extremely rushed and he made nearly every attempt to end it within 10-15 minutes. Following this, it was nearly impossible to get a prescription filled by him to the point that in the last two months, my prescriptions were filled by other doctor's (despite significant efforts including calls, online messages in the portal, and online messages on the Victory Medical Klarna messenger ranging from 10 days up to day of). The staff was also deeply unhelpful, letting me know that in order to get my prescription refilled, I should use the online portal, but if I sent in my prescription request earlier than 5 business days, then it would be ignored. If I sent in later than 5 business days, it was also likely to be ignored. And when I did send it in 5 business days, it was still ignored. I have left several online messages, following up each day, in an attempt to just get a response, and in the past few months I have received none. And god forbid you have multiple prescriptions, because Dr. Pekar will maybe fill one prescription and completely ignore the others. They also look to charge your insurance as much as possible. By state law, practices can but are not required to drug test you for controlled prescriptions. Most doctors range somewhere between once to twice a year. Dr. Pekar will force you into doing a drug test EVERY month. So, not only is he an uncaring and lazy doctor, he also wants to take as much money from you and your insurance by pushing needless tests on you as often as possible. In sum, please do NOT see Dr. Pekar if you want quality care.

Dr. Pekar himself makes you feel like you've known him forever and has fantastic medical advice and really listens to your concerns. The facility is lovely, clean, and has loads of parking (something I always worry about) and there is a pharmacy for convenience right downstairs in case you need the prescription directly following your appointment! I agree with some of the other reviews that the staff is kinda ehh, and there have been some long waits which is super annoying. One time, I waited for 45 minutes because his staff is sorta incompetent. I complained to Carolyn that it was BS and I got refunded my copay...Apparently the staff forgot that I checked in...of course I was the only one in the waiting room.
