Less than two days after my dog's spay.
    Laura N.

I took my dog here to get spayed after I saw positive reviews on their FB page and a few good reviews from friends. Two doctors perform the surgeries, Dr. Connie and Dr. Brown. Dr. Brown did my dog's surgery that day. I regret it very much. My dog was treated like a cow, hanged and had her back legs grabbed so she fell in the process while being tranquillized. They were very rough about it and made no introduction to me or my dog before the process, which made her fear way worse. The vet had the nerve to say she needed "obedience training" when it was all fear based behavior in response to a very awful process they have. I believe it's this way because they have gotten so routine to get as many surgeries done as possible that they have forgotten that they are living, breathing creatures that deserve respect. The aftermath has been the worst part. Not even a few days after surgery, (cone on and minimal activity level), the incision started to drip blood. Then, it started to form blood clots. Fast forward to less than five days later and my dog has a hole larger than the size of a pencil eraser where the sutures did not hold and it is infected. To make it even worse, they have gone back to the Stone Age and use metal sutures that irritate an animal greatly and hinder healing. Their excuse to use these was it keeps the suture intact since dogs were coming back with the area chewed. After further research and speaking with my vet, this is not true. A good job done by the vet eliminates irritation and the dog or cat will not be in that level of discomfort like this causes. The metal simply irritates the area more. After seeing another spay job done by Dr. Connie, the dog's skin could be pulled apart and the incision was jagged and long MONTHS after the surgery was done. The staff employee admitted that Dr Connie's surgery results "always look that bad" and seemed concerned but not enough to change anything. My vet was also worried about the fact that this spay incision had not healed up after that much time had passed. My regular vet was appalled at the job done and suggested I report them to the Texas Veterinary Medical Boards. I will be doing so. My pictures tell the story better than words can. Please do not make the same mistake I did. I am still beating myself up for it. I think many people have great intentions and I don't think they are bad people, but there are 100 times better places to take your dog or cat to get fixed. They have a lot to work on to get with the times in terms of medical care and behavior knowledge of dogs. You get what you pay for here, unfortunately.

My dog and cat were both Rescued and spayed through the Wilbarger Humane Society and are now 9 and 11 years old. I'm very happy with the service that the shelter provides and greatful our community has a low cost spay/neuter program.

Animal Reclaim Center - Bessie is leaving to the Great Dane Rescue of North Texas!!!

Ok...I have extensive experience with the animal rescue community…read more The WF Humane Society is really not that bad. The staff were very helpful to me and my son but more importantly the staff are helpful to the animals they care for. The facility is maintained by donations from businesses around the city and there is room for the dogs to have large fenced areas. There are separate areas for training and agility as well as generous dog runs and shelter from the sometimes harsh North Texas elements. The cattery is very roomy and provides the felines =^..^= with plenty of high up jumping places and scratching posts. For every two cats there should be at least three litter boxes - they have low cat numbers (only very temporarily as kitten season is starting) but I would like to see the cattery have a few more litter boxes. The cats are housed in secure area and have a lot more room than most of the other shelters I have seen. My son and I were BLESSED to have been given the chance to be involved in seeing a beautiful 10 year old Great Dane named Bessie go to the Dane rescue in Colleyville. What a beautiful experience to see members of this community come together- drive two hours from Colleyville to pick her up and the lady that was running the WF Humane Society REALLY cares about the animals having the best possible outcomes no matter what...I witnessed this community come together to help a puppy mill mama go to a place where she can do Great Dane stuff and not be viewed simply as dollar signs..this facility CARES...do not under estimate this organization. Please do not breed and buy while shelter pets die... Research the cruel, debilitating and inhumane practice of feline declawing before going ahead with the procedure. Please PLEASE think thoroughly with your family about the breed and size of dog you choose to adopt - adoption is FOREVER and not just until you get tired of your animals or until a piece of material furniture is messed on... Adoption is forever. . With all of my heart, soul and much Aloha- it was a wonderful experience at the WF Humane Society Aloha nui loa from the #felinemamasan =^..^=

First of all, you're out of your mind if you think I'm going to fall for this. Second, if you want…read moreto charge me as if the item is part of your mix and match deal, you need to mark it as so. Not as just on clearance. Are you ignorant or are you dumb?? If an item is marked 5.99 for clearance, and not labeled part of your mix and match deal, why the hell are you trying to make me pay for all four of the ones that are on the mix and match deal and not the one that is simply on clearance. Do you not know how to properly label items in store??? Because it sure as hell seems as you don't. Not to mention, the chick is an idiot and didn't get when I said "it's labeled simply as clearance. Not part of your mix and match." SO IT DOESNT COUNT TO THE MIX AND MATCH BECAUSE ITS NOT LABELED AS PART OF THE DEAL HOW EFFING HARD IS THAT TO GRASP????? Good lord!!! Fckn dumb.
