These people keep calling me every week and threatening to suspend my license! I'm homeless and have no money at all. STOP CALLING ME!!!

Thanks for all the reviews I read. It was really helpful. I been paying these scammers for almost a year. They threatened me in many ways. Since I have medical issues I sadly allowed them to scam me. A week ago I started reviewing the facts of the car accident. It only took 500 dollars to repair my vehicle and they sent me bills of the other vehicle and stated it was total. Pictures were taken by the police and a report was completed. The other person's insurance never even tried to contact me at all. They said that they were hired by the insurance company to collect the money. I asked for proof of this and other proof that they couldn't provide. I asked them that I want to stop payments until an attorney can review all the facts in court. Even to the point that they said I filled out an agreement for payments. Of course that's not a fact. I started having medical issues do to these sad excuse of a human being. Not even considering that all I needed was information so I knew I was making the correct decision do to my mental health. It shows what type of people they are. A business that doesn't have honor and employees that are like that there are probably even at home. Someone on behalf of Wilber & Associates contacted me on Saturday 10/22/2016 (not normal business hours) via my personal cell phone around 12pm with what was referred to as a "recorded phone call". The associate promptly told me with very little introduction that due to the fire at my home this past spring (which I am still currently displaced from) that they were hired by Liberty Mutual Group to pursue damages to one of my neighbors homes on or around the date of the fire... I asked to receive documentation regarding the claim/damages and the associate from Wilber & Associates developed an extremely short/disrespectful attitude and accused me of not willing to comply... I never mentioned that I wasn't willing to share my insurance information, I simply stated that I would like to review documentation before discussing further over the phone... She , she cut me off, stated that I would be continually pursued for the damages, spoke of legal action, and hung up without giving me a chance to speak... Scare tactics... I'm someone who pays their bills, I don't break the law, I understand insurance claims, and I'm always willing to comply... I do however ask to be treated with respect and not be treated as though I'm someone who wouldn't do what is best for myself and community... I can't wait to move back in to my home that is currently being rebuilt after an unfortunate house fire in the first year of ownership... With a time as stressful as this - within a year of making my first home purchase it was caught up in a fire at no fault of my own - I can't believe that Liberty Mutual Group or Wilber & Associates couldn't handle business a little bit more professionally... This company told me my daughters car was in my name and threaten to have my license suspended and my vehicle registrations. Told me the state of Washington had my name for this car that my daughter was in a fender bender in. I told him that isn't even possible and sent them the proof of the registration and title to the vehicle in my daughters name. He said they sent it to the clarification department and would send me an apology letter. When I called to talk tot he guys supervisor and told her this is false information and totally unprofessional she says I would have done the same thing. And asked how I could possibly sent this I formation through email 3 times when they just got the claim 3 days ago. I said I sent it 3 times in two hours that's how. Then after telling my daughter I was the registers owner of her car and she disputed it with him. He says well her name was on the claim from the insurance. read more

Without a doubt, every single story you'll read on this scum firm is true. These bottom feeders will, literally, break the Fair Debt Collections Act to try to get a single dime from you. I caused an accident 4 years ago. I was uninsured at the time. I caused damages to a client of Country Financial Insurance. After I went through the legal channels to get my license reinstated by the state I live in, 3 years ago mind you, and was legally driving again, I recently found out that I had been suspended again due to a claim made by the collection firm of Wilber & Associates on behalf of Country Financial. I was given the contact info for Wilber and Assoc. and after speaking with Allie there at wilber on Feb. 5ht, 2020 , I was told that the damages being sought were almost $48,000 and that to even be considered for a payment plan, I would need to come up with 50% of the $48,000. The only document the State needs to reinstate my driving privileges is proof of a payment plan showing restitution is being made for the accident I caused. Basically, Wilber and Associates (hereafter referred to as "scum") is extorting me for $24,000 by dangling my privilege to drive over my head. So, after reading the opinions of others on Yelp here, and after feeling depressed after my conversation with Allie at scum, I decided to maybe call Country Financial to get their version of the story. Turns out, scum had been REMOVED FROM THE CASE 2 years ago, in 2018 by Country Financial, and the actual amount of compensation being sought by Country Financial themselves is much MUCH less than $48,000. Wilber and Associates, Scum, have lied to me, directly, in order to attempt to make a profit of over $45,000, simply because I made a poor decision 4 years ago. On top of all that, they aren't even the legal entity charged with collecting this debt!!!! I'm simply amazed at the brazen dishonesty this scum firm has shown I'm disgusted beyond belief, and I hope no one ever has to deal with this scum in any capacity, ever. Scum (Wilber) is the most disgusting, smarmy, underhanded and dishonest collection layer firm I've ever come across. To make matters worse Latosha tried to extort money by saying if I don't pay they can have my license suspended!! When I called her on it, calling this a shake down she tried to back peddle. I got a letter today from Wilber saying I was in a car accident on 6/17/19. I was not in an accident. So I called them. Rude operator just kept asking for my insurance information. I told them I am disabled, rarely drive and would have no business being where they said the accident took place. They have the wrong person. She was not interested and just kept asking me for my insurance. I told her I wasn't giving her any information and she proceeded to yell at me and tell me there would be further action. The employees of this firm are extremely rude and unprofessional and will resort to underhanded and dishonest tactics as soon as they make contact with their target. Under false pretenses, they will make baseless threats of legal penalties in an attempt to secure a quick payment for totally unsubstantiated amounts. I would recommend that anyone dealing with them ignore their threats and demands until they have looked into these threats for themselves (to see if they are even legitimate, they probably will not be) and verified the amounts demanded. They will initially refuse, but people should demand as much documentation as possible for the amounts requested. Only when they have verified their likely false or exaggerated threats should a person look to cooperate with Wilber employees, ideally with an attorney if possible. read more

Got a call telling me that they are going to suspend my license if the claim is not paid. I explained that the accident was my son (43 years old) and that I have nothing to do with the car or accident. The person told me that yes my name was on the registration because she had a copy in front of her. Told her no my name is not on it. Of course I have a copy of the title and told her it was only in my son's name. She said I am not making this up your name is on it and I will have your license suspended. Called the insurance company today to make sure Wilber is legitimate. Got the correct amount of the claim (less than Wilber told me). If i could give 0 stars I would. I was involved in a accident that i was found NOT AT FAULT!!! For by my insurance company while the other company found me at fault. I was contacted and was left a voicemail, called back spoke with the person who gave me a false name(100%) sure of that because they emailed me and the name was completely different... so who was i even talking to?... but anyways i stated i will pay the debt once I'm employed again... frankly they didn't want to hear it. Like you can't get blood out of a stone. They contacted me on a Wednesday evening nearing 6p EST told me i had until Friday to have 50% of the damages otherwise they will have my license suspended. How can a company do that... less than 72 hours notice, to come up with 4,000 dollars DURING A PANDEMIC, as well as UNEMPLOYED!!! The person called me the following week was very short and snotty so i gave it right back. Stated i have interviews lined up and i will pay you when i have half down. My Insurance company will not pay the claim, which is fine... but everyone I've spoke with and the MANAGER of claims stated that they should take what they can get at the time of conversation. But they demanded half down. Both the manager and I have been trying to contact Wilbur and associates to speak with a "manager" but they don't answer the phones nor call back... Received a very professional call from TAREN about a refund request - handled efficiently and without a problem.

These people have been nothing but a pain in the ass since I have been involved with them, I was involved in an accident back in may and the other party during the accident lied on the report and reported more damage than there actually was, the other party claimed $10,000 worth of damage but realistically, there were only $1,000 worth of damage, so basically I have been getting scammed with most of this crap. The people I have had contact with during this incident from Wilber have been extremely rude, unprofessional, and condescending. I had claimed that I didn't receive any other mail from State Farm and cannot pursue any type of reparations until I get proof that it is what State Farm claimed the costs of the accident to be, they instantly said "if you can't come up with the full balance, we will send a letter of proof to suspend my license, so maybe if I were you, I would be worried about that" and some of these so called "associates" have actually lied to me about certain options to make monthly payments in which they finally came down to a conclusion after a lot of negotiating and unnecessary arguments back and forth. One of the associates had lied about my payment arrangement and said I owed the full amount in which I was only going to pay part of it due to financial situations, I call back in regards to the payment arrangement and my case manager tells me something completely different so at this point I am getting beyond furious and I start yelling at them because I do not want to be fed lies constantly by a law firm that should have enough practice to communicate with one another. I am already upset enough that they kept lying to me about the actual amount owed now they are just wasting my time and patience telling me one thing and doing another. That isn't the only incident I had with them, my mom called to tell them the type of hardship we were going through and that I'm a 20 year old college student that was laid off from my job once again, they proceeded to say "that isn't our problem, he was involved in the accident therefore he owes the money" and what really set me off after that is the remark she made about me being responsible saying "maybe you should teach your son responsibility for his actions and stop letting him do whatever he wants" I completely went off and told them if they want to be insufferable about the situation, I can involve lawyers then come say that crap to me then I hung up. They called me back and finally someone else talks to me, I tell them the situation that occurred over the phone a little while ago, and I said that this conversation have been recorded from both parties including me. I am right now in the process of giving this information to a lawyer to counter sue them, but I will make payments depending on what the circumstances are, but I felt personally attacked and threatened so I still will be taking legal action. Poorly trained and Rude Customer Service! Neruda Gonzalez with Wilber & Associates is the reason why they receive NO STARS! It's a shame Yelp can't let you give Zero Stars!! I work with customers on a daily basis and would never speak to people the way Neruda Gonzalez spoke to me on July 17, 2018. I called them trying to get information on behalf of the owner of the company I work for. Neruda was so unprofessional and rude I really couldn't believe it. She told me that I was being "deceitful" and said "I call it like I see it". Excuse me Neruda!! I guess your name really says it all NeRUDEA!! I don't understand why this or any firm would continue to keep rude and unqualified operators. This company is absolute trash. They sued me for Financial Responsibility for a car wreck. They had been using Third Party Records like Lexis Nexus who had my driver's license info in there under another driver. They were so careless they never discovered that they had an issue with the wrong person. They were too cheap to go get a real police report. Long story short, these clowns ended up getting my license revoked as well as professional teaching license suspended so I was unable to work for well over a month or apply to new opportunities with this crazy mistake on my record. I tried calling the customer service but they were butt holes shouting at me that I owe $16k for a wreck I was never even in. The amount of ignorance and lack of professionalism has been mind blowing to me. This is a sorry company and says a whole lot about the companies who patron them. Wilber & Associates has contacted me claiming I was involved in property/auto destruction on July 26, 2020 and that MetLife has hired them to recover $1600 and that there is a police report about the incident. First, MetLife has never contacted me. Second, the police department has never contacted me. Third, I have 7 signed affidavits confirming I was in my home city on that date (this complaint is about an incident that supposedly occurred over 600 miles away). Don't answer the phone when they call it's All a scam so I had gotten into an accident in my insurance had lapsed the day of the accident so I reached out to them and they told me I owed 12,000 dollars and I told them I didn't have that type of money they said well you have to put 2000 down or we will suspend my license and btw the lady was very rude to me too so I hung up on her . I received a letter from WILBER and Associates on July 26, 2019. The letter is stating that I owe them $4839.50 for a claim with their client USAA. I contacted them on 7/27/2019 and left a message but I got no return call. I then called again on 7/30/2019 because I have no idea who their client is or what this matter is about. The letter does not specify those questions. I was then referred to a Devon Brown who I'm sure has given me a false name. Before I can get a word out Davon starts his attack. He says first off you don't run things here at this attorneys office. So I know then we're not going to get this matter addressed. I politely told him I'm not calling to argue but simply trying to get to the matter at hand resolved, and I will not be disrespected from people who feel I'm beneath them. Devon Brown interrupted me with a nasty tone and proceeded to tell me that I know who they are and that I hung up the phone on him before. I told him I've never talked to him a day in my life or his company. Long story short, he begins to accuse me after I asked him again for the date, time, and place for a accident involving someone with USSA insurance. I told hIm politely that I'm disabled and can't drive so I couldn't have been in an accident with his client. He proceeds to argue that it doesn't matter that I'm disabled I'm the owner of the car involved so I'm responsible. I told him that I'll see him in court because I will not sit here and argue with someone who talks to me as if I'm beneath him. He gives the name of the person who was driving the car. I tell him my son is the owner and I'm the Co. His friend stole the car while he was sleeping off one beer. I don't know who his friend is never seen her nor ever talked to her because my son is a grown man who doesn't tell me everything anymore. I told him that I know that the girl was in an accident who was found not at fault. The other person hit her and totaled my sons car and the matter has been resolved to my knowledge and that's all I know. He tells me that I'm responsible for his client that was hit in the back. I told him again that I am disabled and don't even drive and he proceeded to tell me what does that matter I'm responsible for this bill and I told him I'll see him in court again. I was upset that he was belittling me and basically talking down to me at that point and asked to speak with his Supervisor that he refused to put on the phone. End of conversation! This person has no respect for people who want to resolve their issue. I was talked over and down to the whole conversation and accused of an accident that I had no involvement in. I'm not going to call back nor will I ever talk to them without representation because they're out to bully people into paying their trumped up fees that they do not know who's responsible for. This company is no different than a thieving con artist drug addict that is dope sick trying to score some cash for there next hit to get off sick. They will boldly and ever so rudely lie to you. If they have told you they can suspend your license if you don't pay more than you can afford, you better call and check the status of your license first. Odds are they have already had it suspended. They use the letter to get it reinstated as leverage to get paid in full fast as possible. They are supposed to send a letter to your dmv to get your license back just by setting up a payment plan but they tell toy that process all has to be don't by mail and takes somewhere around 14 weeks or longer. BUT, magically if you can pay in full, you can design the paperwork and the can fax or email the letter to your dmv all in the same day. Sorry people that is considered strong arming just like the mafia. They take a necessity of yours to maintain transportation for work to provide for your family and hold it ransom. Oh, and once they have your bank info your pay off amount will change. They say it's due to dues that any third parties may have for federal or state laws but I talked to County Financial myself and they said they weren't aware of any dues and they had already closed out the account which in turns makes Wilber an actual dept collector, not a representative of a third party. Wilber & Associates will harass you and threaten you with fraudulent accusations to bully you into paying them for a claim. I had to get a lawyer to help handle the correspondence to represent me. In my case demanding that I pay for a claim that another company was demanding for their client. It did not matter that I showed evidence that their client lied and was asking twice the amount of money. Wilber & Associates kept harassing and making threats, their only objective is to get their settlement no matter what means. I can not imagine anybody recommending them. Hanna is extremely rude, 1st she raises her voice in an unprofessional manner to my disabled mother who is in fact paying her 150.00 a month but fell behind last month because our grandma had passed away. So when my mom contacted her in trying to settle the matter (not look for a hand out) to get back on track with payments Hanna bullies my mother not letting her talk to a point to my mom starts to cry, (i would have stept in but my mother told me not to in fear that Hanna would deliver good on her threat and make my mom pay everything in full all at once) i dont wish harm apon anyone, how ever what ever happend to human courtesy and kindness or speaking to somone nicely, i do feel sorry for the ppl around her ,she seems very unhappy and a beyond poor attitude, i do think she needs to take a customer service class or maybe a good look in the mirror. read more

Minus 12 stars..Got a call about an accident I had nothing to do with, not my vehicle nor was I the driver. Mrs. Reynolds was very rude and would not tell me the name of the company when I called back. She stated "You called here, you should know who you called, and I'm not playing this game"! The first time I spoke with her I was being sued for $27,000, then she calls and informs me it has gone up to $74,000. Wow, she didn't have the info of the driver or the car involved in the accident.
