Funeral home said they take care of all of it. But none of it got there and no one got to do a reading. Worst of all they just skip right past the eulogy. Then a man comes out and long story short she was not even done. She was on the books for that day. (Really) why couldn't they tell me this before I made the trip.

First the Hospital misplaced my father the day of passing and I was truly upset. The staff at the crematorium called the hospital, found Daddy and set up a viewing (for ID) the same day they picked him up. I was able to complete the paperwork that day and this was such a relief. The young lady who helped me was Lacey and she was amazing!! The level of compassion and guidance from all the staff was of extraordinary. I was so lost at the steps on how to handle the sudden passing of my Father however the whole team was right there for support and all of my questions. Thank you to everyone involved!! Wars and rivers…read more The original Princes Hill Burial Ground was started way back in 1728 and was only a half acre or so. Just a place to put the deceased from the developing town of Barrington. It continued as the town's cemetery until it finally closed in 1994. The ancient graveyard contains over 3,000 residents including 26 veterans from the Revolutionary War, 62 from the Civil War and scores of others from various other wars and conflicts. The graveyard is located right next to the present town hall on a nice spot on the Barrington River and nice views of the river are possible from several places in the cemetery. Although the graveyard started out as only one half acre, it expanded several times throughout the centuries and now is a sprawling place that takes a while to walk through. Lots of different types of memorials in the graveyard but most tend to be modest. Of course some of the real old ones are now impossible to read and are slowly returning to the earth, the names and memories long forgotten. Princes Hill is a cool and fascinating ancient graveyard in a lovely location right on the Barrington River. A place where many of the town's veterans are buried and a cemetery that has seen a lot of centuries pass by.

Most of the grave stones are dated in the 17 and 1800's it's truly a wonderful place to take your time and read some of the stones. The Bristol Family's from Dewolfs and wardwells. I'm sure it would be a great learning experience to tour with a guide to find out about the history . There is also a beautiful view at sunset overlooks the bay in the winter where I have experienced amazing colors as the sun sets. It's definitely a trip to take.

Hidden gem alert!…read more Amazing stone structures greet you as you enter this stunning cemetery, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. I happened upon Juniper Hill while taking a brisk walk at lunch. I'm so glad I did! It's obvious that the caretakers love the property as every tree and stone is well cared for. Some of the tree species I have never seen before. Coming around the last bend, there are amazing views of the entire downtown area of Bristol. The sunsets must be amazing! I found out later that the caretaker offers historical tours, botanical tours and a special Halloween tour once annually! I will definitely be back for that!

And this cemetery is maintained by very nice people. Everyone who works here that I have encountered or even watched I noticed how gentle and caring they are with the grounds. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and I always remember just how clean everything always ways. I believe in order to bury your family member here they have to be Catholic, just something to keep in mind. Consider this cemetery for any passing family members. I know this is such a tough topic, and it was a little hard for me to write, but I know it will be worth it for others.

I would caution you not to go outside the lines with the short-tempered and stressed out owner William Watson, because you don't know what will set him off. I contacted him to verify a burial of a family member whom I know was served there. Typically, if the deceased is someone whom they have previously served most mortuaries will cooperate with you to verify what is public information on death records and obituaries. Not Mr. Watson. He was uptight when I called the first time, the next, even worse, refusing to work with me. When I disconnected the call, he called back immediately to chew me out on a voice message. After all, I wasn't bringing him any new business! We all know that attitude is poor public relations and will do nothing for business. Many of the mortuaries in Rhode Island are family-owned for decades, like Skeffington, and the principles there are aging and rigid. You have many other good choices. Go somewhere else!

I called Auclairs at first but was made to feel like a bother, a number, a nuisance in fact. I immediately decided to look elsewhere and came across Boule Funeral Home. Owners Tom and Wendy bent over backwards to help me and my handicapped mother. They helped us to save every penny possible and they clearly were not looking to take financial advantage of a grieving family, something I've always feared. We're not wealthy and they made sure we weren't given options that only wealthy families could afford. Tom and Wendy are compassionate, available, connected, and have kind hearts. At one point I had asked to sit with dad before the funeral. I was welcomed to sit there and hold his hand, tears overflowing, until I had all the closure that I needed to move forward- As a nurse, I often get approached by folks who tell me that I have changed their lives in one way or another- that's how I felt with Boule. Normally, I would not think to review, however after having recently had 2 funerals in 2 years at Boule's I feel the need to leave some feedback. Tom is an absolutely astounding human being. In 2017, my family lost my 16 year old sister to health complications. The loss was sudden and left us in an extremely hard place financially, emotionally and mentally. A friend of ours drove my mom to Boule's to speak with Tom. Upon hearing the story of my sister's life and how dedicated my mother was to her, Tom decided to be patient and work out whatever he could to help us give her the services she deserved without feeling pressured to think about the money right away. He was just absolutely kind, I have no words to describe it. More recently, two weeks ago, I lost a childhood best friend. His mom decided to go with Boule. Again, I saw Tom and he remembered my family despite it being two years. He asked questions and was genuinely interested in knowing how we were doing. He and his team did an amazing job with giving my friend one last send off. He even allowed us closer friends to stay an extra 30 minutes because he knew we were having a rough time. My friend was 28, we're all a bunch of "kids" who didn't expect this so suddenly. Again, Tom understanding as always was patient and kind with us and the family. *****Overall, I highly recommend going with this home. These people genuinely care for you, your family and your feelings. They aren't after the money.
