Awful. Just awful. The worst experience in a salon ever. I booked a hair apt with Ednison. I wanted my usual v cut TRIM. The same style I've been getting since I was 20 years old. He literally sat there giving me a million reasons why he couldn't do it. Making me feel like an idiot for even asking. Clearly he doesn't know how to do this style cut. He told me he'd have to cut at least 6 inches off on the sides to make the shape. No, my hair is already in the shape. I wanted a trim. My hair was past my butt. He made me so incredibly uncomfortable I wanted to run out of there and cry. I finally just said "just do a trim please" Not only did he not do what I asked, he chopped 5 inches from my hair and it looks like my 7 year old did it. It's so choppy and uneven. To add insult to injury, when he was done he offered me a donut, even though I told him I can't have sugar. He continually tried to make me take one. Uncomfortable all the way until I got in my car. I'm leaving for siesta key next weekend, hope I can find someone who can fix the choppiness. Don't waste your time and energy. Go somewhere else. Especially if you have really long hair like me. read more

So my daughter had a little hair coloring faux pas and was upset to say the very least. I called wild Iris at 10:45 in the morning and was immediately accommodated with an appointment for her at 11:30 the same day. Upon arriving since I had to send her with my credit card while I was at work they very responsibly called me to verify that she did in fact have permission to use said card. She was treated very professionally from start to finish and the pricing was reasonable considering this was a repair job! Special shout out to Edison her stylist, my daughters hair is literally exactly what she wanted and we couldn't be happier! read more

Still in shock of the haircut I walked out with. Edinson was going to thin my hair, but left me with three inch chunks all over my head. I cannot wear my (past the shoulder length) hair up, because the right side bottom layer is about two inches long, and cannot wear it down, because a large chunk has been taken out of the back on the top of my head. I was looking for a simple cut, and I am in disbelief of how badly he butchered my hair. read more

I made an appointment in at 9:30 and was seen at 11:30 on a Friday! Very warm and charming environment, not too crowded or hectic. I sat down and talked a little about my hair history, Edinson offered helpful advice about choosing the right shampoo and regular care. We talked about the cut and decided on a length (layered long). It was such an easy conversation and my hair looked so much more professional and well styled afterward! I felt as though Edinson knew exactly what to do and had a great attention to detail as well as the overall form of the hair. I had a great experience at Wild Iris, left a message to request appt and they got back to me right away. They run groupons frequently which I like. Was greeted warmly by owner and Marissa did a nice cut. My sister goes for years between haircuts and needed one for her sons wedding. She is very specific about what she wants and was very happy that the gentleman there did exactly what she wanted. read more

Edinson was very nice. I booked my appointment in advance. But my hair cut is absolutely terrible. It's not at all what I asked for, and I talked to him in great length. All I wanted was a trim and blended short layers. Instead he chopped off inches of my hair and I have 6 inches of terrible choppy layers. Also, he didn't part my hair when he cut it, so when I part my hair, one half of my head has short hair and the other half has longer hair. After he finished I told him this isn't what I asked for, and he said it looked fine. I cried when I got home. I also had balayage done and the entire ordeal was awful. He teased my entire head and then applied the balayage. Not even halfway through he had another appointment in, that had called that morning. Then he began rushing. I was left at the sink for over 20 minutes. Then it came time to brush out all the teasing. Every single client in the salon and I could hear him ripping out my hair as he brushed it out. I heard clients say, "Wow that looks painful" "Ow I don't want that treatment". I saw handfuls of my hair come out on the brush, and my entire body was shaking with pain. I tipped $25 at the end, and Edinson made a comment at the amount I tipped. Overall it was the worst experience at a salon I have ever experienced. My stylist was over booked and rushed, my entire head was needlessly teased and handfuls of my hair was ripped out, I lost inches of my hair and unless I part it directly in the center my hair is noticeably uneven. read more

Worst experience ever!!!!. I purchased a Groupon that advertised a haircut with Marissa for $17.00. I scheduled an appointment using their online scheduling system for 5 pm the next day. The day of the original appointment Marissa called me to ask if I could reschedule to another day. I rescheduled for 10/20/16 @ 5:00 p.m. When I arrived for the appointment I wasn't greeted by anyone even though the stylists working saw me walk in. I was sitting for a few minutes and a gentleman walks over and asked me to come with him (never introducing himself) I though he was a shampoo assistant. He shampoos my hair and takes me to a station and pulls out scissors. I said wait a minute my appointment is with Marissa. Marissa walks over (not once did she introduce herself) and asks if it is o.k. the "he" cuts my hair. Stunned number 1 because I had no idea she wasn't planning on cutting my hair and 2 because I had no idea who "he" was. Feeling extremely uncomfortable and put on the spot I allowed him to "trim" my hair,,straight across the back. That was it and I asked to leave wet just to get out of there. When I got home I received a phone call from the owner. I was impressed she had called me so soon. Impressed until she said aggressively "were you in my salon today?" I said yes and she proceeds to berate me and my review of her salon stating "what did I expect using a Groupon?" She threatened to post a nasty response about me because of my review of her salon. I certainly didn't expect the unprofessional and classless way in which this was handled. This is no way to treat a new customer or to build a new stylists clientele. I will not be returning to that salon EVER! Completely unprofessional...Don't do business with this place. read more

If you need a FANTASTIC ( not *good* but CRAZY-GREAT) haircut or "re-fresh" ...you should absolutely go to WILD IRIS in Brookfield. I live 5 towns away and just had my 5th consecutive , consistently excellent cut by Gina. I went 3 years w/o finding a place that could cut/shape/ UNIQUELY DO my hair. A friend discovered Wild Iris and called me. ( she too was looking, looking, LOOKING for someone with talent with scissors and/or color) I'm posting this positive rant out of gratitude for my friend saving my hair-butt , in the hopes that some poor soul who really is tired of looking like a league bowler , sees this and feels the relief I *did*. You don't have to go to NYC to get a simple or sophisticated or very cool cut. Gina uses both a razor and scissors on me and eveywhere I go someone always approaches me and asks : " Where did you get your hair cut" " I want that exact one" ( what they really mean is that I have a GOOD haircut ) . I've wandered all over CT seeking a great haircut that wasn't $125 bucks. You're either *born with it or not" when it comes to the ability to see and enhance someones beauty with a pair of scissors; despite all the training in the world. Gina has *IT*. The fact that she's a really warm and down to earth person is icing on the cake. I always have a great time there! As it should be. I don't rate many businesses..in this case...
